Looks like its a 40Nm motor and you lose about 2Nm through the chain so about 38Nm but the gearing is setup for torque as it has a 34T front chainring and 46T largest cog at the rear so 38 shared by 46/34 gives you a peak torque of about 51Nm for hill climbing. So about the same territory as a hub motor. I don't know the Suntour X1 fork. Is that just a OEM rebranding of a typical XCM fork or something. Looks pretty basic.

I think the Voodoo Zobop was sold for £2699 recently and with various discount codes, using cashback sites and buying with giftcards also bought through a cashback site you can get a decent discount. With a recent promotion I think people managed to bag one less than £2000 with a trade in scheme which allowed a 30% discount. £1750 seems a lot to me for a very low spec motor and fork. I also think the Shimano motor system is far more reliable than Bosch. However both are proprietary solutions with expensive repairs and parts costs.

Also why on earth does the battery fit into the front of the downtube which makes it vulnerable to getting damaged. Much better to have the battery mounted inside the triangle of the frame. Ultimately its about whether you want an e-mountain bike style bike or an actual e-mountain bike. Yes you can fit a better fork to the Orbea but its always going to be a very low power mid-drive motor and personally I don't see the point of those.

I think most high end ebikes have batteries that either fit into the front of the downtube, or slide up inside from near the BB these days, as long as the cover is sufficiently strong it's probably fine, plus you can fit a much larger battery that way without compromising the frame strength

For a bike this price, you'd think they'd tell you the weight!!

Will depend on the size of the frame but from what I've read online it's around 23-24kg.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, for a mid mounted motor below £2k. Does anyone know anything about this battery?

Nice looking bike for the price. It looks like the Motor might be the bottom of the line for Bosch, I think their motors range from the following (lowest to highest):

    Bosch Active
    Bosch Active Line Plus
    Cargo Line
    Performance Line
    Performance Line Speed
    Performance Line CX
    Performance Line CX Race

The battery is a 400w which isnt too bad, which again is the lowest wattage battery in the range. The batteries range from 400w up to 750w.

As a price comparison, check out the Cube Hybrid Pro 625. It has the 625w battery and the Performance Line CX motor. Basically a little more power and range. The price difference is just over £1000 so might not be worth it, depends what you will be using the bike for.

If it was my first e-bike, I would definitely consider the Orbea.

I bought a tongsheng mid drive kit off ebay and did over 2000 miles on it without any issues. Good option for those who already own a bike, full kit around 500 with battery.
