    £186.78 delivered here @ Ballicom
Ballicom doesn't charge for delivery above £100

    The price drops among these at the same time as they should have the same source of 24 in stock at the time of this comment, worth checking;

This is a really good deal and I'm regretting my purchase of the 4TB Lexar NM 790 for £198 this last week!

Does anyone know if this is single or double sided? I'm assuming single, just trying to alleviate my regret!

(In case anyone misses this deal, the Lexar NM 790 is also TLC, similar TBW, the same warranty, has similar speeds, is single sided but doesn't have a heatsink option, encryption and I think the controller on this deal is better. The big thing it's missing is the DRAM but uses HMB instead so I don't think that makes much of a difference for laptop/PC performance but probably still better to just have DRAM. It has very good reviews too.) (edited)

Massive difference when comparing DRAM to HMB, hence its a big thing that is missing, will make a noticeable difference I'm performance that's why this gets it and is sought after.

Is the 990 pro better? Apparently it has lower latency vs the sn850x but how does it compare with this?
    kopedsa's avatar

On paper, they should both be pretty similar in performance, it's hard to say because this one has so few (if any) reviews. The Samsung is very likely better overall - it's their top of the range drive and it's very well reviewed but it's a somewhat moot question because this is a 4 TB drive which doesn't exist for the 990 pro and if / when the 4 TB 990 pro does exist, it's going to be significantly more expensive than this one.

Thanks for deal, I just ordered one and can confirm it's £193.32 including delivery.
This is still a really good price for a top performance TLC 4TB drive, assuming that this performs like the other drives that feature the Phison E18 controller.

Does anyone know if this would fit into a laptop? Eg Lenovo Thinkpad?
    Pájaro's avatar
    Pájaro
The drive most likely would - it's a standard 2280 NVME, which is the same as my Thinkpad takes. Where you might have difficulty is fitting the drive's heatsink, which adds a few mm to the height of the device.

    Your options are:

    1. Eyeball the cavity of your laptop's case to see if there's likely space for the heatsink
    2. Buy the version without the heatsink (mind, this will cause thermal throttling in certain cases, and isn't ideal)
    3. If you've got an x280, hang fire for a few days and I can see if it fits in mine.

This must be the best price 4TB full speed gen 4 with heatsink deal so far.

If I hadn't jumped on the P3+ price error the other week I'd have probably pulled the trigger on this!

If you look up reviews for drives like the ADATA Gammix S70 Blade, Silicon Power XS70 or the fanxiang S770, they will be valid as they exactly the same drives (manufactured by Biwin), just different branding.

any point putting this in a gaming PC? will it give me faster boot or loading times? or should i just get the 2tb adata deal? Thanks
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
    The.Fat.Cat
If you're referring to the ADATA SX8200 or Gammix S70 Blade, OS/gaming loading times will be pretty much the same as this.

In fact, this drive essentially is a 4TB version of the S70 Blade, just different branding.
You're just paying more per TB for this as it's the 4TB version and they all tend to have a higher price due to having less competition.

If you're talking about the Legend 800, I'd pass on that. Not only because it's DRAM-less, but also because it's QLC NAND. Not a great combination. (edited)

    This is a terrible price...
It should be at least £200!

Excellent drive, it's basically the same drive as the ADATA Gammix S70 Blade, Silicon Power XS70, fanxiang S770 (exactly the same same controller, DRAM and NAND combination).
    Just cheaper! (edited)
