Bought this for £220 a few years ago - incredible low power consumption. Undervolt and overclock for even better value. Set and forget and still a champ for gaming. Great price! (edited)

Can anyone recommend a cheap but decent motherboard for this?

Currently looking to upgrade from an AMD X4 860K and 1050 ti so looking to pick up something like this and a 2080 ti / super until I have spare cash to get something higher end.

    A520M S2H, £57 on Amazon.
    It even has ARGB.
Can't over clock or remove the TDP power limits though. For whatever that's worth.
    They benchmark well.

    i have a ryzen 5 3600 would this be a good upgrade?

depends for what purpose? If gaming at 1440p or below then probably; alternatively put the money towards a GPU upgrade and that will be more noticeable

Still haven't opened mine that I got for £115 a while ago. Could have saved £15 - oh well

it's a good CPU, nice price - done me very well with a 3060ti - but mine is holding back my new 4070 super, so I've bought a 5700x3d which should pair better.

A 5600X won't be holding back a 4070 Super. But at least with the X3D chip you'll get better 1% lows. peak FPS will barely be better.

This is probably the "best bang for your buck" CPU right now

Showing up for me at €109 plus €4.43 delivery, Googling that figure suggests £96.73! I’m tempted to buy but I purchased a Ryzen 3600 and MSI 450 Tomahawk motherboard and 16 Gb memory probably two years ago and I’ve still not built it! I’m tempted to buy this CPU and actually get on with building it ( I also have a Radeon 56 GPU installed but I’m not sure if it’s working properly!). I’m pondering whether to buy this CPU and just get on with the build, although the 3600 wouldn’t require a bios flash but this CPU may!? Thanks in advance.

Dude, at this rate you may complete the build in the next 4 years slap the 3600, update bios, get this and sell the old cpu if you feel it's worth it.
