See brilliant 4.5K detail - all on an impressively thin 11.4 mm Retina display. The P3 wide colour gamut displays over a billion colours, making every photo, video or application look true-to-life. True Tone technology adjusts the colour temperature to your surroundings, while the anti-reflective coating lets you read and watch in comfort.

Keep your desk clear of clutter. The colour-matched woven power connectivity attaches to the iMac magnetically.

Do more with the Apple M1 Chip

From video-editing to gaming, the Apple M1 chip lets you take on the biggest tasks and creative projects. Combining with macOS Big Sur, the iMac 4.5K 24” reaches new heights of performance, efficiency and security. And it will keep cool and quiet, even during heavy computing tasks.

More detail in your FaceTime calls

Look your best on FaceTime calls thanks to the 1080p FaceTime HD camera and M1 chip. It uses an image signal processor to give clearer, sharper images, while the Neural Engine can recognise faces to adjust white balance and exposure for improved, natural-looking skin.

Magic Mouse & Keyboard

Included in the box is the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse – the perfect pair for your iMac. Both are rechargeable via Apple's Lightning cable, so you'll never have to look for batteries again.

Have one of these the logic board failed after 2 years. Apple were going to charge £500 to replace it. Mentioned the 6 year consumer law and they replaced it foc

Do not go for the 7/8 version as it’s missing so much over the slightly more expensive 8/8 version. They even put in one less fan lol, not that M1 even needs one in a giant chassis like that, they could have massively cooled it against the aluminium.

Save your money and get an 8MB Buttertendo

I'm a big mac user and apple fan - this is really underweight for the money. 8gb ram and 256gm HDD is really poor.

    It’s ssd

I've had this 8 core / 8 graphics core iMac for over 2 years now, its been very reliable, don't worry about the 8GB unless your editing movies every day.

Not much else to say other than it just works, as it should

I bought it for my wife straight after release. Paid £1700 for 8/8 core version with 1TB ssd drive and got AirPods for free (back to school promo).

It does everything well but 24 inch screen with 4/3 ratio isn’t good for video editing, for video I suggest 16:9 or a thing close to this (edited)

At this price and the fact that the screen alone makes up a fair chuck of the price at RRP I thought we might park the 8GB RAM discussion but nope. 8GB RAM definitely isn’t 16GB but the CPU also plays a massive factor in overall performance and it’s also unified memory. Unless you know you need 16GB of RAM you probably don’t. I own PCs and Macs with 64GB of RAM but can do 90% of everything I need on the 8GB iMac. As a side note one of the best things about all Apple silicon is the amazing performance per watt and low power draw in general. I try to actively avoid using my PCs unless I have to for this reason. Especially if you’re using your machine hours a day at home. (edited)

For me the longevity is the hesitancy. I just wouldn’t be confident that I’ll get 5 years of smooth sailing with 8gb.

the point is when you are doing the 10% that does require more and it’s not there then that’s a problem even if it is only 10%.

    Shall I buy or get M3 version…..
Also may sort of discount codes for curry’s?

    M3

Use this for design work… but highly recommend 16gb ram and even then you can get issues if you’re running multiple intensive apps. Honestly, 8gb would not work for me. The ssd isn’t too much of an issue, just buy an external ssd. On the plus side it happily runs a pro xdr display as well as its own screen!
    banshee3099's avatar
Might be ok for just basic things though?
  9. helal94's avatar
I wish these could be used as external displays too.

You sort of can with the luna display app and dongle

can you hook these up to a second display. Do they have a HDMI in so that I can connect something else to the monitor?
    duggie1982's avatar
Don’t think so, looked into this extensively and all roads led to nope

    That chin/bezel. Yikes.
    cantonbean's avatar
That’s the whole computer internals! It was done on purpose plus so people will know it’s an iMac and not a monitor.

The same 8gb comments always crop up.

Look its Apple Silicon. 8gb feels fast and it is hella efficient, I have a windows laptop with 8gb and a macbook m2 with 8gb and the latter is way more capable.
  14. rs84's avatar
Perfect, been looking for one for a while - ordered
  15. banshee3099's avatar
Good that some 512gb versions are cheap than the 256gb like the silver one, but it weird is it a mistake that they will cancel the order?

Are these only in one size now? What happened to the 27 inch? (edited)
  16. duggie1982's avatar
Got one, was great but use a windows laptop for work so don’t ever turn it on, same as my MBP M1. Wish my work would let me use my own device
  17. jakeyjakey's avatar
Was looking at getting a m2 mini for around £540 but am just too sceptic about 8gb as a long term commitment. This seems a good price for the screen included but again I hear about too many swap issues to bite so will probably gofor a 16gb when a back to school promo drops. Any thoughts?
    BlackAdam's avatar
Can you share some details about this swap issues?
  18. The_Warns's avatar
I may have to get this. With my wife’s work discount and my work vouchers this is around £681
    abdul5's avatar
How do you get discount with curry’s?
