Sorry, this is a bit off topic but my 10 year old son needs a computer he can run Core on to these specifications support.coregames.com/hc/…nts

I only have a budget of £500ish (or a little more). Can anyone recommend something new or second hand with warrantee that’s appropriate? Thanks.

I mean you can compare the recommended specs, to other laptops deals.

Anything with 'RTX 20**, 30** or 40**' will be more than good enough. Since it recommends a 1660 which is weaker than those other bigger numbers.

Just avoid very slim laptops. (edited)

With all the recent Asus Warranty horror stories I would not buy any Asus products. (edited)

From ASRock motherboard issues to Gigabyte power supply and MSI quality control, looks like you left with a very few choices 😝

Heat, great price for the 2024 model. I'm very tempted, but the 16gb RAM not being upgradeable is a dealbreaker for me. Shame as it ticks all boxes for me otherwise

The most important component of a gaming laptop is the GPU, and this has a weak GPU relative to the price. The OLED screen is influencing the price a bit, but not enough to justify it in my opinion.

There's been several laptops with a 4060 or 4070 and they were closer to £1000, one is even £800.

    For example hotukdeals.com/dea…795

EDIT: Just checked Scan and the base price of a 4060 laptop with slightly weaker cpu is £1200 and for another £250 you can upgrade it to a 4070. (edited)

My purchase came through today and I recieved a completely different product: a macbook air box which contained a random iPad inside. Looks like someone at Amazon now has my laptop. Sad times. Hope others who purchased this got what they bought.
