sorted bywe have one, did have a few months of issues with making announcements on echo but has just had update and seems to be working for now

From research, it appears wiring it only means it operates your chime, it has no recharge effect on the batteries, so effectively its always running on batteries only.
Also can anyone confirm if this works with an Amazon Firestick?
Working perfectly, I just need some cameras now!

If you need Fort Knox level security perhaps look elsewhere but its pretty good value and works well for what it is
