    Does this need a subscription?

Nope it records clips to usb stick via sync module

we have one, did have a few months of issues with making announcements on echo but has just had update and seems to be working for now

So do we need to buy the USB stick? And can I view on my phone for free?
    jenmumof5's avatar
Yes, get a little stick to plug into the sync module to store clips. Can then access it all from your phone

Can anyone who has this setup advise how long the battery lasts in real terms?

From research, it appears wiring it only means it operates your chime, it has no recharge effect on the batteries, so effectively its always running on batteries only.

Installed mine on 31st December and still running on the original batteries. I guess it would depend on individual settings and how much motion it picks up. (edited)

The doorbell itself has poor reviews on Screwfix stating the app had an update removing "standard features" is this the case with this setup?

Also can anyone confirm if this works with an Amazon Firestick?

    Thanks,Mr. Switch, bought and installed.
Working perfectly, I just need some cameras now!

Just got the doorbell alone for £35 on ebay, so this seems to be a cracking deal. Might get just to cover the back garden instead of an specific outdoor cam.

More blink deals on Argos, some great discounts, probably to make way for the newer Blink devices.

Can anyone vouch for these in terms of quality and reliability?

    Bought and fitted yesterday.
    Seems absolutely fine

Does anyone have any issues connecting them to a WiFi network? After upgrading to Eero (Amazon brand funnily enough) they won’t connect anymore. Tried only turning on 2.4ghz also

Its a good basic video doorbell, with the ability to store clips locally and access them remotely, you can expand the system with cheap mini indoor cameras that act as chimes and that you can also access remotely..

If you need Fort Knox level security perhaps look elsewhere but its pretty good value and works well for what it is
