    No forced subscription?
    samk06's avatar
No, only voluntarily if you intend to use this cam after buying it..

If im right in thinking basic plan will i crease by 40% but pro wont
    sheffield788's avatar
Yes, but once lots of people upgrade their subscription, the pro will probably go up, too.

It can also be used without subscription for live viewing but no recording

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a 'security' cam?

No worries. If you're in the Ring ecosystem with the full subscription like I am, it's a no brainer.

I have two of these but am replacing them all with unifi cameras, so far I’m quite happy

    This seems a good deal

Anyone looking to buy this be aware Ring subscription price is going up in a few days

A whopping £1.50 a month if you pay monthly. I'm out....

Online sub going up massively soon. Mine would then have doubled in 2 years, hence bought a eufy doorbell.

They should give those away for free as they'll rob customers enough anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if the subscription will go further up next year.

Great deal, got 3 of them to replace my older Ring cameras, thanks.

Cold because of the subscription, I bought this and haven’t fitted mine yet, I’m going to sell it now and invest in a Eufy system

Ive got one of these - it's ok but the quality isn't amazing. For something within say 5m of the camera the resolution is good enough, beyond that (especially over 10m) it just doesn't have the resolution to be that useful for any kind of intruder detection.
The other thing to note is the motion detection has an option to detect and alert on people - this is absolutely useless. Anything and everything sets it off in my experience, squirrels, cats, the wind blowing things - and yes people but because it's so inaccurate you certainly wouldn't want to rely on it alerting you in the middle of the night.

In short, this is good if you want something to be able to get a basic view of an area, to alert on any motion, to be able to turn lights on - but if you are after a good security camera I'd consider looking elsewhere.

Title is misleading £60 yearly subscription cost should be added in price.
    Nicolidus's avatar
Yeah, and car deals should add the cost of petrol. Oh, and Blink for the cost of batteries.

Think there will be a lot of used ring cameras/doorbells going cheap on ebay soon!
    krazii's avatar
I don't see the logic of spending £150 to replace your ring doorbell when it would work out cheaper to pay the subscription cost.

    OOS :-(

Would be a cracking deal if Amazon didnt force an ever increasing subscription on us to use any other the useful features.
