This is a great deal. Down from £449 direct price.
This may not be comparable on specs with other phones of similar price but this is not what you are buying it for! It's not all about the specs. Its about the sustainabiltiy. You are paying for a Five-year warranty and extended support till 2028. You are paying for repairability. You can buy an alternative phone for the same price with better specs, but when you drop it and smash the screen in a years time you'll likely end up paying the same amount again for a replacement. You are also paying for fair wages for the people who make your phone, and the people that supply the materials from more sustainable sources.
All of that is worth more than the ability to open a webpage 0.05s faster.

This won't attract the people who want a flagship phone every year, but its great for anyone who worries at least a little about the damage electronics manufacturing is doing. Plus its a brilliant phone for your kids, or parents or anyone who may have a tendancy to constantly be braking their them and needing a new one every year. A phone if looked after should be able to last several years. I'm currently using a laptop that is 10 years old that works perfectly fine having had a couple of parts replaced, why can't i have a phone like that!? So that s what the fairPhone is, and I think a lot of people that just chase the specs/cost propsition don't seem to get that.

Eminently worthy comment and fitting response to one of the comments above which I reluctantly quote because of its glaring absurdity "£175 max for this ancient phone".

Spec looks ok but I feel like it's a lot for a 3.5 year old phone (edited)

Maybe an equivelent phone that was released about the same time as this was would be considered ancient or obsolete, but this isn't. It's still fully supported and will be for several years, whereas the alternatives are long dead. The story of Tortoise and the Hare comes to mind.
