    I had this for the last 12 months after signing up on a free offer last year. To be honest, I found it pretty pointless.

    It's ok for free I guess but certainly wouldn't pay anything for it after the free trial

    Does the free life time warranty for Hive products count for Hive items you purchase elsewhere other than the Hive website?

    I wasn't asked to provide proof of purchase - Hive can see what you have installed.

    I took this free a year ago. I agree the features aren't worth paying for. BUT there was an unintended benefit. I had a previously purchased motion sensor replaced free under the on-going warranty for hive products and when they had the summer sale I qualified for an additional 10% discount and free postage - so for me the unexpected benefits were worth it.

    It's been said many times here over the last few years - not worth paying for, but for nothing it's useful information at worst. No effort to get usage over days/weeks/months/years and compare month on month/year on year etc. For example at a click of a button I used 22 more hours in gas this October compared to the previous year (and it shows you average outdoor temperature for day/night - so this October was no colder on average). It can if you wish help you lower your bills/usage by setting reduction targets and get alerts etc when met or at risk of not meeting. I'm sure there are apps that you can set up to do the same, but I would prefer this as I don't have to do anything extra to get it to work.

    Add in your unit price and get real time cost usage day on day etc

    Sad to see that this is for BG customers only. In previous years it said the same but anyone was able to get it. Now they are asking for the BG customer number to confirm - seems like I will be letting it go as they have cracked down on the 'free for all' (edited)

    Had the 12 month free last year.

    Issue I have is BG can’t read my gas meter so the smart features they are supposed to provide are useless.

    This actually allowed me to keep a rough track on the usage, but bugger them
    If I was paying for it.
