Additional Peace of Mind (and grip!)

  • They’ll still have a tread pattern designed to cope with bumps, obstacles and mud but the band of Kevlar protection running around the tyre will help reduce the incidence of punctures.

Efficient Modern Gears

  • To enhance the riding experience we have also upgraded the drive train on the Vengeance, moving from a triple chainset to a 2x (2 by).
  • One less cog at the front means less weight and less maintenance but also makes changing gears more intuitive as fewer choices help you get the one you want quicker… and don’t worry about the range of gears.
  • The Vengeance now comes with a bigger cassette at the back wheel so you’ve still got those important choices at the top and bottom end of the range. Less sometimes definitely is more!

    Looks a decent option for the price although the mechanical disc brakes and 2x drivetrain is a little disappointing. It would have been better with 1x with a simple 11-42T cassette for better chain retention and simple up/down shifting when off-road. I'd say good value rather than amazing value.

    Honestly at this price point I’d rather have mechanical brakes rather than crappy hydraulic. Got Carrera Vulcan for some time and brakes there were just bad lol

    Are bikes stocked by Halfords generally deemed ok? Looking for something for kids 10+12, the old Apollo ones (don't know if Halfords still do these?) have been pretty rubbish, so looking for some recommendations, that don't cost an absolute fortune. There's a real lack of bike shops around here unfortunately.

    Frames and wheels are typically good quality, the frames typically overbuilt a bit and the wheels have a high spoke count. The rest of the bike is dictated by the parts actually fitted. Generally a Carrera bike of lets say £400 is equivalent to a big brand bike like Trek, Specialized, GT etc of around £600-800 unless they are discounted.
