Because people are questioning about price rises mid-contract... this is on the checkout page:
Your Data Plan price will not increase during your new or existing minimum term. Other prices may increase and services may vary, including during your minimum term. We will let you know about any material changes before we make them. Details of call rates and optional charges can be found on sky.com.

Then from their "Here's the legal bit" on their data plans:

Your Sky Mobile data plan price will be fixed for 12 months (excludes VAT changes).

So it appears that the data plan is only fixed for 12 months based on this regardless of how you buy the phone, meaning that if their prices are due to rise by £1/month on this tariff, then after the first 12 months this will also rise by £1/month based on the above two clauses.

Further, here is the section from the current Sky Mobile UK T&Cs, which says that if they want they can increase during the minimum term but you'd have a right to cancel, this gives them a backup for if they would prefer the risk of cancellations over honouring a deal for the full minimum data plan term, available here: sky.com/hel…ons
How the price of your data plan may change and other prices may increase
    • We may change the price of your Sky Mobile services (for example, change the price of your data plan, an optional extra or our out of plan call or text rates). This includes during the minimum term but you may be entitled to end your contract without paying early termination charges. If this change is an increase to your data plan or a recurring optional extra you are paying for at the time or is likely to materially disadvantage you we will give you at least 31 days’ notice in writing where possible.
    • Please see ‘Your contract for Sky Mobile services’ condition 5 (Payments) for full details about how your prices might change and, if this happens, the circumstances where you are allowed to end your contract during the minimum term without paying early termination charges.
    • You must make sure anyone you allow to access Sky Mobile services passes any notices received by them to you.

    I know right
when there are thousands of deals where you get unlimited mins & texts for less than £2.

By the way do you know any deal to get this or better ones for less than £2 a month?

Guys it's only 100 mega bites! no 100 giga bites! It will last you 30 min browsering. That's all!

    1gb = 1000mb that's will not even last 2h watching the YouTube. 👎 (edited)

See above - you're entirely missing the point.

You can add another sim card for free. When you add sim card will show £2.50 price. When add in basket £0 for second sim. And you can name each sim before you buy. 🔥 🔥 🔥

£1 as prices are rising in April by a £1 once your contract ends then Sky adds the pound on. Be interesting whether the original free deal which is a pound a month rises to £2 a month. So glad I left for talkhome. Essentially £1.25 a month. Be good for some and some good non-EU roaming like SA for £2 a day on Sky

Cheers all ordered and sky do e-sim so great solution. Managed to get it down to £46.80 by trading a 100gb in. 51962974-edAWb.jpg

Exactly what I did.l but I had so much data in my piggy bank that I still had 160GB left.

Bought this few year back, pay £1.50 for the same plan. Perfect for a home phone/emergency phone.
    RedDragonX's avatar
Did it come with a phone and did it remain at the same price once the contract ended?
  8. ct9001's avatar
Got this last time and within the first 6 months they put up the price by £1 per month. Even though the data plan was £0.
    user072022's avatar

sky does not increase the price mid contract they do increase it once you are out of the contract though however those who signup after Feb 2024 will see mid contract price increase going forward.

Deals a bit confusing. I just want the unlimited minutes and texts.
How long does the sim stay at £0 per month?
    UnbearableBob's avatar
Semantics. They come as a bundle. There's no way that this phone alone is worth £72. Which in my opinion, isn't the case for unlimited texts & calls for 3 years for £2 a month. That's the actual deal. Or it was for me, anyway. The phone has been unused since it was ordered, my relative has only ever used the SIM. Which incidentally they have had zero issues with the whole time. (edited)

I have an old plan with Sky that is £7 (soon £8) per month for 2GB data, but I keep it as I have around 300GB in the piggy bank. Is it possible to sign up to this, add it to my account, and then cancel the £8pm sim, whilst retaining the piggybank data?

    Cheers
    Bjnwee's avatar
Piggy bank data is neither tied to the mobile number nor phone but your Sky account.

So to answer your question, yes, you can order any new contract then cancel your current, then mooch off the data in your piggy bank as you please.

13 quid cash in cex if you trade it in

I have a Sim Only contract with Sky for £8 a month. Don't use the data. Could I get this, swap my existing number, and cancel my sim only?
    user072022's avatar

I think you will have to switch your number to another network first then signup to this and bring your number back. ASDA SIM i know you can do without topping up not sure if any other providers do the same
  13. Hoichoi_Hoichoi's avatar
Hi, Sky compelled me to pay for £72 due to failed credit. I was wondering can I just return the device after delivery and get my money back?
    The sim will keep running?
    Thank you.
    David_X1I's avatar
Nope if you return an item you wil not have it anymore.
  14. mo_Islam's avatar
Is this good for a burner phone?
    KodaBear's avatar
Depends what you define as a 'burner'

If you're genuinely trying to use it for dodgy purposes then pobably not since both the device and SIM will be registered in a contract against your name and credit file so quite easily traceable from whatever it is that you're up to.

If you mean burner in the more general term of a basic secondary device just for talk and text, then these basic Nokia handsets are actually pretty good with an easy to use UI, loud volume for calls, and a good battery life.

I used to have a Nokia 100 which would happily sit in standby for a little over a month at a time between charges for example, and it lasted 7 years before it died from being slammed between a closing car door (or at least the screen died - The phone itself was still working just fine) so I would happily recommend these.

I've got a number with sky mobile which I want to port out. Then back in for this deal.
Will it work or will I need to port to another network/company first?

port out to another network first
  16. pKaTz's avatar
How long do you get to port the number in?

Can I buy this now and port number in later?
    ryanmartin1993's avatar
They will give you a number which you get when you activate the SIM, you can wait to transfer in an external number as long as you like, you can bring a number over at any time when you are with sky, there is no time limit. I think all mobile phone networks work this way

Can I play Call Of duty on this ?
    SmileyNially's avatar
You can only play 'Call On Duty' with this. It's basically a game where you make phone calls while you're at work.....

I have read and watched on recent news documentaries that these (Dumbphones) phones will be the norm again in 10 years. Smart phones will be phased out… replaced by something else coming down the line.
    mutley1's avatar
yes, the smart phone will be called something else, like a dumb phone

    Ordered, thanks op.

I've got over 1tb in my piggy bank so just knocked one of my other plans down to swallow the extra £2 #thrifty

Used to spend the data on Sky Store vouchers but that was stopped 2 years ago and they're not printing the vouchers any more, even for purchase.

Some people seem to be missing the point of this deal (I hope they are kidding)....
  25. BravestPrince's avatar
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this supports e-sim. Just the 2 physical SIM slots.
  26. ryanmartin1993's avatar
Great deal, thanks OP, using this to keep my grandparents online after the BT line was migrated to Digital Voice, was paying 2 x £6 pm on Giffgaff so big saving and gets two new phones as well
  27. thekesslerboy's avatar
    Isn't the 100mb data plan £0 for 6 months, then £5?
    tmohammad's avatar
I hope not! Does not make it clear if that is the case.
  28. UnbearableBob's avatar
Ordered this deal for an elderly relative about 18 months ago solely for the unlimited minutes. They don't text or use any data. I just used the SIM card & put it in their existing phone, purely because the large central button on the Nokia 105 included in the deal is very hit & miss with regards to accurately scrolling up/down & left/right. A widely known issue with the phone, I later found out.
As already stated, I believe it is also possible to pay the £72 off in one go, which as I understand it, means the SIM with unlimited minutes and texts, is yours forever without any further payment.
  29. Trover's avatar
Will the price of the data plan (£0 atm) increase from the 7th month, as it says “Get HALF PRICE on all data plans for 6 months”? Obviously half of £0 is £0, but the original price of the £0 plan is advertised as £5(confused)
    PabloEsco's avatar
Yup it's not clear at all. Hence why everybody is asking for clarity. I'm not getting it until I know for certain.

Got this deal two years ago. Just being increased from £0 pm to £1 pm. Truly awful phone though.

Same here. I used data to reduce the monthly payments down to 50p a month for three years. Sim was free but it did rise to a pound a month. Still a bargain. I moved to Sky from Plusnet £1 a month deal. But that has now gone with the closure of PN.

I moved again to Talkhome 250 mins and texts and 1GB data for £15 a year or £1.25 a month.

No problem with talkhome but my requirements are very little data as I have an iPad with a work sim. So only use a feature phone with WhatsApp. Love these cheap deals.

The photo of the display clearly shows 2 sims in use so this is part of the contract if you buy it. (3G isn't going to be around in 36 months) (edited)
  34. Mark_SmithaGW's avatar
so should you sign up for this and put the SIM in a better handset

Would this be a good contender for someone who wants to retain a UK mobile number whilst they work/live abroad for an extended period, not for me personally but iirc that question has been asked on here a few times.
    user072022's avatar

this could be expensive way of doing it though. May be converting the number to pay as you with minimum top up and sending SMS or making a call once every 6 months could be cheaper solution to keep the number going.
  38. ac12's avatar
Took the three contract out no problem. Come to do the sky one and it doesn’t work for me. But gives me the option to pay £72 up front. I saw on the three sim deal thread that you could return the phone so essentially making it free for 36 months. Will try it and see how it goes.
    lm280904's avatar
Is there a link to this 3 deal?
  39. Ferris's avatar
Isn't this only £0 for 6 months, then rising to £5/month?
