The trade in prices for some older phones are pretty generous so the deal is worth considering.I traded in my s20fe for £205. The example included in the picture is for is samsung galaxy s8=£183 which i thought was very generous

Keep that for the free unlimited photo storage at max resolution.

I'd be wary of the trade ins. Did the same when I picked up my pixel 8 pro. Said my old ones battery was swelling. Didn't pay me anything nor send it back to me. So yeah lost out quite a bit.
    Walkerscrisp's avatar
Are they allowed to do that, as in keep the phone if they refuse the trade in? Sounds a bit off that like.

I hear a lot of people say Google's aftersales is bad - they've been nothing but incredible for me. Answered all my questions and when I traded in an iPhone, I got the full amount that I was quoted. Purchased two P8's, 2 pixel buds, 2 fitbit charge 6's and one google nest - can't fault it all.

To be fair, that doesn't sound like aftersales and more like presales. Did you have any experience in resolving issues when any of your purchased devices developed faults?

My recommendation for people who want to purchase Google hardware will always be to purchase it anywhere else except the Google Store.

Bought a Pixel 8 but sent it back within the 14 day window, felt like a really clunky overly heavy and poorly balanced phone, didn't like screen protectors for unlocking, glitchy bluetooth. Those on top of me feeling slightly unsure about long term hardware reliability was too much for me in the end.
    Opethian's avatar
I ended up not using a screen protector on my Pixel 7 Pro, and of course, it ended up getting fine micro-scratches. Disappointing to hear that the 8 series has not fixed this.

That's very generous but I'm aware of Google's legendarily poor customer service and I'm reluctant to buy from them. Don't other retailers usually pile in with trade-in bonuses around the same time as each other?

Bought a Pixel 8 for my wife because she was complaining about her S20 FE 5G camera, overall she is happy because the camera is significantly better but it was a downgrade in some respects (screen size, no expandable storage, worse 4G/5G signal sometimes).

She was also annoyed she couldn't configure the same triple swipe navigation gestures from the bottom of the screen that she could do on Samsung (Pixel back swipes from the side of the screen and you have to hold the bottom swipe for recent apps, they are also reversed if you use button mode and you cant swap them around). She got used to the Pixel gestures eventually but she still thinks its worse even now.

There should be further discounts, I would imagine when 8a launches

Mind, these trade ins....I just for a laugh wondered how much my old iPhone 6s immaculate not a mark on it, great everything - would fetch - it came up as £1 !!!!

Interesting how an older Samsung is worth more than the pixel 6😳

I guess the commercial value to google is bringing customers to them from their major competitors. Iphone 8 £218, says it includes a £150 bonus on top of the regular estimate

I can finally trade in my pixel 7, worth the wait

I like the fact that they accept my "CEX £100 64GB iPhone SE2" for trade-in and the offer is "up to £228". Very generous.

I'm considering even though I don't need the Pixel 8 (got the Fold) but the generosity of the trade-in for the iphone is making me think why I shouldn't go for it.

I like the Mint color. (edited)

Would you say that was a good price ?
  21. nobbyal's avatar
Trade in value for my great condition POCO F5 is only £111 which includes an added £50 bonus apparently 🤷, err it's a no from me.

Want the pixel 8 around this price with no trade ins on the voxi deal. Not such a great deal. If you hold it the price will fall further
  23. castleheg's avatar
I had a pixel 7 replaced under warranty by Google with no issues other than the replacement I got was a refurb.
  24. Opethian's avatar
Absolutely AWFUL aftersales service from Google. Caveat emptor.

£284 for an iPhone SE 3… tempting… shame they don’t it off the price up front!

    Tempted

This an upgrade from my P30pro ? As I may see what that's worth on the trade in?
  27. The_Kurgan's avatar
92 quid trade-in for my Mate 20 Pro against this. Not tempted
