AiTrack + OpenTrack both on github is what I use. I find this webcam works much better for face tracking than regular webcams.

Would this work on a good spec Samsung tv ?

I would highly doubt it no. As said below, you need a third party app to even get a pc to recognise it as a webcam, so you'll have little chance with a TV.

Can this be used as a webcam for pc?

Yes. But you need a 3rd party app called ManyCam to use it as webcam. If you use free version of ManyCam you'll see ManyCam text on the bottom of the screen.

Used one the other day to play Time Crisis Razing Storm and House of the Dead. Cant beat the old lightgun games, still fun with 2 players.

I use this to track my 3d prints with octopi. Works great.

Could you please show the camera shot and share the config you have used? Thanks (edited)

not bad value at all really for what it is.

Can be used as a webcam pretty easily so maybe worth nipping in to grab local stock. Of course, you can use pretty much any modern camera to do the same including smartphones, but being able to leave things set up with a dedicated device for this little cash is pretty handy.

Was going to get this then remembered I don't have a PS3 any more as it went into meltdown playing The Last of Us.

These cameras are amazing, and I'm sure would make a really good web cam.

    Great price and handy cams.

How’s the image quality for this one?

I would imagine it's pretty terrible compared to a modern webcam. "The PlayStation Eye is capable of capturing standard video with frame rates of 60 hertz at a 640×480 pixel resolution". So that's even less than 720p.

Possibly good for using for astrophotography. Bought one a few years ago for 50p at cex but still not got round to taking it apart!

The xbox live camera seems better & easier.
