Great quality trail MTB at what seems to be a great price. Whilst there are lots of good deals around for mountain bikes at the moment this seems like a bit of a steal. RRP of £2250 so getting this for <£1500 seems a bargain.

Voucher code for 15% off bringing it down to this price expires on 30/04/2024 so will need to be quick if you want one.

Same price (also got 15% off code) can be had from Go Outdoors as well if you prefer them as a seller.

Plenty of good reviews out there:

Heading-up Polygon’s Siskiu line of trail-focused mountain bikes is the T8, a bike with a whole lot to prove. Loaded with premium components from FOX, Shimano and Tektro, it’s punching far above its price tag in terms of spec and performance.

When it comes to the descent, the T8 is a ninja. Its long reach and slack front end put you in a stable and confidence-inspiring riding position. The short stem and chainstay keep the T8 agile, even with 29-inch wheels. This bike’s geometry and componentry give you the self-assurance to weave through tight turns and technical features at speed.

It is impressive for a bike at this price point to be kitted out with FOX front and rear suspension. The FOX 34 Rhythm Fork is supple off the top for absorbing vibrations from the trail but ramps up at the bottom to deal with big hits. At the rear, the FOX Float shock has a very usable range of rebound adjustment, so it's tuneable for riders of all weights.

On the ascents, a steep seat tube angle puts you in a perfect position for climbing. Combined with the premium SLX 12-speed drivetrain, this bike has real climbing credentials. Locking off the suspension, a nice added benefit of running FOX components, helps with grinding up extra steep climbs.

Polygon went the whole hog with the T8, so it’s a mouth-watering proposition for any serious mountain biker with a modest budget.

Rated 9/10 by MBR magazine, who called it "one of the best cheap mountain bikes out there, a budget full-suspension bike with modern geometry and progressive sizing".

Features

  • 6061 butted aluminium frame – A strong and lightweight aluminium alloy frame with dependable weld integrity.
  • 140mm FOX Rhythm fork – A customisable air-sprung suspension fork with stiff 34mm stantions for serious mountain biking.
  • Shimano SLX 1x12 drivetrain – Premium gear-shifting finesse from the maestros at Shimano.
  • Tektro HD-M745 – Impressive four piston stopping power that rivals products from SRAM and Shimano.
  • 150mm TransX dropper seat post – A reliable hydraulic dropper post with 150mm of travel. Puts the saddle exactly where you need it
  • 135mm Fox Float DPS rear shock – Lots of rear wheel travel with a plush feel and plenty of adjustability.
  • Hans Dampf tyres – Ultra-grippy tyres with Enduro and Downhill pedigree.

Mine arrived today. had a few bits of fun and games, getting used to the new tech like the dropper seat post that needs connecting. Easy when you know how. No quick release wheels but I can get used to that. I dont have any spare presta inner tubes this size so no ride today.

The guide above, found after I assembled referrers you to the owners manual. Its written in English on the cover but inside its not got any English apart from the odd word and the end warranty and inspection bit

I still have the pedals to stick on tomorrow and get some local riding to build up confidence that the bike is ok and safe. Then I can play with the new tech and wave my right thumb in the air every time I try to change my front derailer that doesn't exist.

I might even try going tubeless if any one wants to share experience's and tyre recommendations.

Well worth getting the setup right, you will enjoy it so much more. Things I always need to check or do... Pedals on, setup tyres tubeless (so much better than using tubes), set saddle height, set saddle position on rails and angle, set handlebar height using stem spacers, sort bar roll angle, change stem length if required, cut bars to correct width (780mm for me), set brake lever angle and position, set position of dropper post and shifter, tidy up cables with zipties, set sag for front and rear suspension, set rebound on suspension, check all pivot bolts are tight. Then go and ride 😁

The colour of this in person is absolutely stunning! I was even contemplating on getting this over a new e-bike. If it hadn’t been due to the fact of my shoddy knees I think I would have!

    Stunning bike and would recommend.
