About this deal

All sizes available at time of posting for pre-ordering.
Considerable pro and con discussion when previously posted.
We bought this bike and have found it great for what it is, have now purchased another in smaller size for 'other half'. Battery lasts well for it's size, it's not a small bike, we purchased a shorter seat post so both of us could use the 'M' sized bike without cutting it down.
First post so maybe things I have missed some details, admins are welcome to correct.
Ordering via Quidco will maybe earn you a few £'s

Still happy with mine, the weather out here has been absolutely rotten since Feb so I've only commuted on it twice (10 mile commute each way). Unfortunately you're going to get a thread full of people who've never tried it, arguing about theoretical power.

On the full turbo mode, and with the 80% battery saver/max charging point option activated, I was down to 36% on the way there. On the way home, I left it on the medium mode and still had circa 11%, so it's possibly down to calibration.

I've ordered a charger holder off eBay and wall mounted that (forgive the wonky angle, absolutely no idea what happened in between marking it off with a level and drilling it). I took the end flaps off both mud guards as they were fouling the SteadyRack - the front can be done with an allen key, the rear needs the rivets drilling out. Unfortunately my drill contacted the tyre sidewall and burned a hole in it so I've got a £20 replacement tyre from Edinburgh Bicycle Co-Op (Specialized Nimbus 2 Sport so like for like) to fit. It'll be my first time taking the rear wheel off the bike so not looking forward to that.

Have to say, was back out on my gravel bike earlier this morning (circa 9kg) and you can certainly feel the weight of this Specialized in comparison. Was surprised that I wasn't much quicker overall on the Specialized when I'm commuting, though obviously it's a little less effort.

I think this is a good errand bike for someone who already cycles, and the current price is excellent (if not a tacit acknowledgement that they just weren't popular at RRP). If you can get it on CycleScheme as a higher rate taxpayer, you're absolutely laughing but that's a time-based risk I wasn't willing to take on the previous thread.

I wouldn't have it as my only bike though.

Thank you for the detailed info and picture of the set up. Very informative . Out of all the high end cycle brands which one would you say is your favourite ? As someone who is into cycles ?

Deal has been previously posted as I stated but rarely in all sizes especially the small option.

For those who buy this and are OCD (it is a beautiful bike in the flesh) the colour match for nick and dints is not run of the mill Raspberry Red.

Nail Polish is well known as good substitute for bikes and small touch ups.

Rimmel Berries and Cream 340 Nail Polish is a pretty perfect match

I bought one of these and I am very happy with it. Its a really well made bike for the money.
Worth mentioning that someone worked out that there is a nail polish that matches perfectly which is great for touching up chips! (edited)

Looks like it was made for a cycle hire scheme?

You need a minimum 500wh battery to live a range anxiety free life with these style of ebikes imo. Anything less and it'll ruin the ownership experience.

You can get a 160Wh range extender but it's another £300

Update: looks like the medium & large sizes in Red & Grey options are now available for immediate delivery, not showing 'Preorder'

Looks like a handful of both colours in size M. Haven't tried L.

Best way to check (as advised by Evans staff) is to try and add lots to your cart.

I'd be wary of buying on CycleScheme for that reason, though depending on how quickly your employer's payroll team set the schemes up, if the bike went out of stock you may be within the voucher cooling off period.

They may get some more in I guess, I see Specialized have finally discounted it on their own site. (edited)

So put into context it was a few out of tens of thousands sold but the deal is hot and don't let that put you off buying this brand which are top quality and have no issues with charging whatsoever

Well put, relatively light bike & small battery & motor but has good range for battery size.

OK, no nothing about electric bikes but don't believe this was ever sold at £3700?

If you buy a bike, please buy a helmet. It can save your life. oh and depenant on where you live in this country you might need a lock and depentant on where you lock your bike you might want a simple D lock or a heavy (11kg/m) 25mm chain and unpickable lock and potential ground anchor for home.
