About this deal

I have seen these on offer at £159 previously which is when I bought one for my brother - he loves it.
I've just ordered one for myself, unbelievable price.

They do also have a slightly lower spec model for £89, but I prefer the blue

There is pretty in depth review here for anyone who likes to do some research before buying

Would this suit a 13 year old? What sort of age is this up to? Can adults use?
    johnnystorm's avatar
Yeah, and should last them as they get older.

Silly question, but would this be ok for an adult?

Yes, anyone from 120cm upwards can ride this bike. BMX are typically designed to be ridden stood up.

Do they still brake when you pedal backwards? If so that's a true mongoose bike

Pretty sure they used to be more than this…… 40+ years ago. I can’t imagine they’re still made the same way for this price.

good bike for riding about on and doing your first few tricks.

wouldn't last particularly long if used heavily at a skatepark or taking large impacts. squarely a beginner friendly bike. (as the price would suggest)

What would be considered the next level up from this?

How are they now so cheap now.Or is that telling in quality from former years

I bought one in NZ some years ago and the frame bent on my first ride.

I used to ride a mongoose menace ~10 years ago and it was ~£150 and remember the ritual being one model above so it cost more. Something doesn't quite add up but I'd be tempted to use it to get back into riding. Do skaters still hate BMXers?
    mattd555's avatar
Mongoose is not what it used to be, it's not a bankrupt mess being tossed between holding companies

thanks for this. Had a £70 gift card from a refund I needed to use up so in my mind I only paid £30!
