But can you turn off the infrared LEDs to it can face out of a window? That last version didn't allow this which was a major flaw.

I have that camera, the way it worked for me is to click the sun icon, change video mode to day mode, at night you get a good quality picture, through a window, no glare off the window.. Bit late in the day, but thought it's worth trying

    Thanks Op.

I have bought 6 of these cameras over the past year, 2 of them I have in my own house, whilst 4 of them we have installed in an elderly relatives house to make sure they are ok etc.

The Tapo app for controlling the cameras is brilliant. We have setup separate houses in the app, and assigned the cameras to each house and rooms accordingly. All very easy to do and simple to setup. Every camera can be independently controlled via the app, and the videos on the internal SD cards in each camera can be viewed remotely easily too.

I honestly don't have a bad word to say about these cameras and the app (hence I have so many!).

My only gripe is that you have to be connected to the same WiFI connection as the cameras before you can download the videos off the SD cards. I suspect if you subscribe to their Cloud service you can download off the Cloud with no such limitations. (edited)

Don't understand why the black doesn't have the QHD logo and the white does?
They're the same as far as I can tell.

Also just to note a lot of people seem to have had issues with the C220/C225 disconnecting randomly.

We have 6 C210's which have been flawless, however as soon as we added the C220 we got issues with the camera disconnecting and also knocking the other cameras out due to locking up our router.

Updated the firmware and still issues. We eventually ended up replacing the router and it's been fine since. (edited)

For a simple security cam. You can't really go wrong with this.

Just like to share a personal experience regarding a tp link C225 camera we used to use as a baby monitor, had it for about 3 months, 1 night the mrs woke me up middle of night saying she could hear something.

Turns out it the camera had moved on its own, (you can control movement via app) it was positioned at baby’s crib initially but it had moved to focus on our bed where me and my wife were and this was confirmed by looking at the app. Now I’m not saying the app/camera was hacked but it wouldn’t be the first person that it had happened to….

Just sharing with you my thoughts, take it as you want to but yes reason to be cautious I would say. (edited)

If you don't need access to the camera outside of your local WiFi then you should be able to block it from outside access by blocking its MAC address or IP in your router from accessing the WAN.
These cameras will happily work on WiFi only.
