I've made a couple of visits to the Eden project but they certainly know how to charge for everything (including food) along with ramming the 'green' message down your throat at every opportunity. Made to park a long way from the venue and a particularly surly bus driver too.

I think the place has lost its way and needs a customer focused makeover and a bit more realism about prices.

Did they force you to buy food?

Do they do any discounts for people/families that work and still can't afford to go at full price?

Millions of people who work are on Universal Credit.

I take it I can’t get a discount as I work and pay taxes

Millions of people on UC are also in work.

Have fallen on less than fortunate times due to health and found myself in the UC system with my wife working part time. Grafted since I left school up until 3 years ago, but I'm getting better and will return to work. Tarring everyone with the benefit scrounger brush just isn't fair. Today our little UC family made the trip to use the deal. We weren't judged by staff on entering via a UC booking, told about all the areas to refill our water bottles (free) and were recommended on where would be nice to enjoy a picnic (which you're welcome to bring). We spent £2 on our way out on a fridge magnet memento. If you've never been then I recommend it, the rainforest biome was the highlight for us.

Thank you Eden Project and thank you OP.

Totally agree  n_s I was diagnosed cancer 13 months ago still not on full benefits and just hate the sarcasm of people saying scroungers I’d trade places any day to get my life back I’ve worked since 15 now 64 and I’m scrounging lol people need to ge a life before pointing fingers and giving attitude

There is on site camping if you are going to travel a distance, from £40 per night.

"...from £40 per night."! Up to? Does that include a new tent to keep? (edited)

Thank you for posting. This will be a big help in trying to keep my children entertained during the Easter school holidays. You can add an Easter Workshop during the checkout for £1pp. (edited)

Even if you get in free it'll end up as a very expensive day if you dare buy anything while there.
    DLatimer's avatar
yeah there food and drink prices are madly expensive

You could also tie this in with a haven saver break
I’m disabled no savings so any offer helps

Well they can't get any visitors to pay full price anymore......

No wonder when you see how tired the place looks now.

now to lower train prices so I can get there

You get more if live on benefits rather then paying taxes

Apart from the rainforest biome ( which was amazing) I found the rest of the place quite boring - and I did my college dissertation on the project!. Bit of a let down really. I believe they have plans for a second site somewhere near the coast.

It's planned for Morecambe. Nice to get something decent in the North lol
  13. DLatimer's avatar
Just remember to take your own food and drink with you as their prices are incredibly expensive.

Regarding accommodation, if you want cheap, then Haven is probably the nearest place with quite cheap accommodation.

I have to say I'm not impressed with the number of people shaming benefit claimants on this post. As some other people have said, a lot of people who are in work have to claim top-up benefits because their employers don't pay them enough. Also, we all pay VAT on things that we buy, regardless of whether we work or not, so we are ALL taxpayers.
    Ragedragon84's avatar
Difference is the benefits scroungers (and yes, not all people claiming benefits are scroungers) are paying VAT with the taxpayers money. So we're not all taxpayers, only those of us who actually do work to earn money and then pay tax on it are. (edited)

going to claim UC so I can get my discounted ticket…
    Worth it..!!

    Love this!

yep full price seems very expensive for what it is, its worth a visit once, particularly if you in anyway like plants or gardens etc. I vistited years ago , I believe there is more new stuff now. but back then
in fact I think preferred visiting the many other big Cornish national trust gardens/houses over this.

Been a few times from when it was a building site to a couple of years ago. It’s now very stake and tired looking everywhere looking about at the end of life. Needs a massive reinvestment to stimulate revisits.
