Avon tyres need to be cheap, as they don't last very long. Girlfriend had these exact tyres on the front and they were worn after about 14,000 miles of steady driving. Previous Goodyears were much better. These are still worth buying at this price though - heat added.
exactly, you may as well buy on line at the cheapest price that would be cheaper than them if free fitting was not included. Unusual offer
Be aware, a lot of the recycling centers have stopped taking tyres for recycling/disposal, so do your research before deciding to take them there. On the other hand it's a legal requirement for garages to dispose them off in a responsible manner, hence the charge (although this may be included in the price they quote you for the tyre). If a garage isn't charging you for this, then it's worth asking yourself if they are doing it legally. About that MSE link.. it's from 2016! Most major retailers now include valve, fitting, disposal, etc. as part of the price they quote. My intention for the replies is only to share more information and not to argue or point fingers. (y)
"Where do you get yours done from then...would like to know, everywhere I go to seem to charge £15+ each tyre disposal of & balance with fitted! " Any local independent tyre fitting company! . Fyi. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5493714/kwikfit-tyre-fitting-package And I have never been charged for disposal either, though I suppose you could go yourself down the dump. If you don't want the rim for the car, then there is a clever way of cutting the tyre, turning it inside out, painting, and make fantastic plant pots.
"It has always been included" is not the same as "I have never paid". There are very few places that add it on top of the quoted price, one of them being Costco. Even with the added cost they sometimes work out cheaper than elsewhere. BlackCircles have an option to choose between "Mail Order" and "Fully Fitted". I know some people who get the tyres on Mail Order and pay their local garage who can fit them for a cheaper price.

Currently running 225/50/17, would 225/45/17 be ok? thanks. (can’t find any similar price for 225/50/17)
I managed to reduce the price of ATS tyres significantly further, and cheaper than any other tyre fitters by miles, by using a combination of the following deals, the 2nd and 3rd of which may be account specific: 5% cashback on Topcashback 7% cashback on ATS purchases on my Lloyds Bank account 10% (20 points, worth 10p, on every £1 spent) on ATS purchases on Nectar Connect
Speedo will be out 3%
Currently got 245/45/18. Would 225/40/18 be OK?
Doesn't seem to be much of a saving changing width/profile, 235/35/19, 225/40/19 and 255/35/19 all around the £120-£130 mark online. Guess that's the trade off of having rubber bands for tyres!
Do you mind me asking what your fitting date/claim date was? Mine was 27 August, on 6 Sept I received the following: We are pleased to advise you that your claim with ATS Rewards for a Road Angel DashCam has been accepted. Your gift will be sent to you via Royal Mail within the next 30 days.
Quidco has paid out so total cost £277.25 as it stands. Just need the dash cam to turn up now
My dash cam turned up today.
Received on Friday. Sold on eBay for £50. Sold my part worn tyres as for for £100 so ended up getting 4 new tyres for around £160!
I went on my santander app, looked at cashback offers and ATS was listed for 10% cashback capped at £30 max. When I purchased I just used my santander card and the next day in cashback offers it showed the £30 and says I can claim it at the end of the following month (August) just goes right into the account afaik
How did you make a claim with Santander?
The summer has not finished yet
https://atsrewards.co.uk/dashcamjuly21/claim You need to upload a copy of the printed invoice they give you when they fit the tyres.
how do you claim the the dashcam please,THANKS

This is the site I generally use to check kumho review. There aren’t many reviews of that tyre but it looks reasonable. If you look at the individual reviews you can get an idea of whether reviewers are driving similar motors to yours cos that’ll also make a difference to how they perform.
Looking at a couple of the Kumho HA 31 all season tyres for £137.40 delivered from Camskill.......... is that a good tyre and/or price?
Better than your average summer tyre but not as good as an all-weather - assuming you’re going for a decent all weather and not some budget rubbish
How would these summer tyres fare in the winter?....... or would it be better to get all weather tyres for all year round use?
Just had mine fitted on Friday and had the front tracking done at the same time. Car does feel a lot better. I hope the tyres last well. By all accounts they wear pretty well.
