£20 12m = rwgmobile.wales/web…ge/
£35 24m = rwgmobile.wales/web…ge/

They used to have a free 250mb SIM, then it was changed to £5 one-off fee for the same thing but also added £15 for 750mb tier, all of which seem to be no more.

But a yearly cost of £20 for 2GB/month is pretty good for low data users (or £35 if you want to saver a £5 I guess), if they had WIFI calling or eSIM, I'd happily move my number to them.

They run on EE and no, you don't have to be in Wales to use it. Not quite as cheap as Lebara/Lyca 1p deals but they're no more and RWG runs on the EE network and is probably cheaper than going PAYG at this point for most people. It's just annoying that it needs to be renewed every 12 months.

Are they legit? Never heard of them. Is it same coverage as EE in UK?

    They are legit.
My only concern is coverage. I have a £15 lifetime sim with them, but it failed to get a signal on a couple of occasions, and I was only around a mile from a mast. I have a dual sim phone and the other one had a full signal. Probably due to the bandwidth they’re allocated, but not great if you rely on a single sim.

This is a good deal, but a message to the OP, the Lyca deals appear not to have ended. It looks like you can still get 3GB for 1p/month for six months or 4GB for 5p/month for six months. Lebara is 99p/month for 3GB though. (edited)

On a side note. They offer a simm that can be used in a tracker for approx 20 pounds for 5 years.

Please approach this company and deal with extreme caution. I wish that I have looked at the recent reviews on Trustpilot before taking the plunge and buying from these cowboys. Took 3 days for a number port to complete and left me unreachable on my original number for all that time. Also made the mistake of purchasing one of their data only SIMs which remains inactivated after a week now despite multiple emails, support requests and messaging them on their facebook page. Just try and phone their support line and listen to the message stating that their agents are unavailable all the time and you will know what I am talking about here. I will give them to the beginning of next week to see if they will activate my SIM before reporting the issue to my card issuer and cancelling my accounts.

Unfortunately, despite being on EE, you can't use Airtime Rewards or Weare8 to top up the balance
    lanceuppercut's avatar
    lanceuppercut Author
That is true, but taking those things out of the equation, it's around £1.66/month for 2GB data each month. EE would certainly like to fleece you for a lot more for that much data.

And yes I know they don't have access to the same bands as full fat EE does, but they're not called E(xtremely)E(xpensive) for no reason you know..

I've always been a bit skeptical that MVNOs are given the same priority on networks as the network's own customers. I've tried most of them over the years and, although good for the price paid, they always came up short at certain points. The main pinch point was usually at things like festivals, concerts, matches when the masts would obviously be a lot busier than most normal masts. At this point I don't believe the MVNOs compare to the actual networks.

Best I ever found, based on some information found online, was Sainsbury's mobile, who apparently paid for a block of the network, rather than just puffy backing. I had no way to prove this but it seemed a lot more reliable that others I had used. Not that I'm looking at the moment but I read a similar comment on Reddit this week that 1p mobile have a similar deal with EE, unlike other MVNOs. I'll see if I can locate it at some point.

Anyhow, I'd previously used RWG for my son's phone. No complaints, it worked and for low usage these deals seem a great price.

I've got a sim from them and it shows me I'm on the NOW network.
Not sure what that means but it's all good on my end.
    plunet's avatar

RWG resell a white box (unbranded) MVNO that goes by the name of NOW who use the EE network. Hence why your SIM says it's on the NOW network

Q what happens if you use up your allowance during the month before it is due to renew?

    RWG Mobile
    Hi xxxx,
in that case, you will either have to add credit or purchase either a bundle or an add-on for that month.
    It's really your choice.

Thundering backbone for low mobile users paying one off £20 for 12 months usage having adequate mix of minutes, texts and data and you can't go over the monthly allowance if you don't add further credit to your account 🔥 Pay your £20 upfront and think of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 or shall I say Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 (edited)

Looks good - I guess no credit check? Not bothered so much about the credit but don't really want another hard search for nothing. Should be useful if you want to carry a spare phone when out cycling/running or something as well - I'd like to carry a smaller phone but not have to swap SIMs over.

I’ve got one of these from this offer, intending to put it in my iPad. I only switch the sim data on now & then (when away for instance).
An email response back from the RWG people confirmed that their sims work in any device and can be tethered from, so spot on for my use.
Saved me buying another 3 12 month sim, which has been my go to for years.

I was thinking about joining this network but now im very sceptical. I also cant get through to them via their telephone service, however they did respond to my email within 2 days (so not all that bad).

I want to sign up for the 1 or 2 year option, but worried if the reception in my area (London area) is rubbish will I be able to leave and get my money back? They (RWG) suggested buying a SIM only and trying that for a few months first, but that obviously defeats the object of signing up for the cheaper 1 or 2 year contract.

Any suggestions? and do people actually recommend this network?

Thanks in advance for any help

A question I wondered when I joined a few months back. According to their FAQ’s:

“We don't currently support WiFi calling this is coming soon”.

This was the exact same phrasing as when I signed up around 4/5 months back. So it depends what you class as “soon” 🥴!

    Hope that may help 🏻

Receiving calls and text is free in EU and other roaming charges are available on the RWG website. (edited)

    Hi,

Does anyone know the contact email for RWG I have tried to contact them three times but they don't reply.

I have had no data for almost a month I brought the two year plan for £35.

I switched from Lebara, I think may have been a big mistake.

Can anyone help? Or give any advice?

    Thanks

Still a reasonably long way off? As long as you buy before then, it will still be valid for the whole 12 months - even if it overlaps a current deal you're on, you'll struggle to find anything much better value overall.

    Decent - £1.66 a month then - Lebara cheapest is £3.95/£4.95 a month every month for 1gb /5gb

If another very cheap sim pops up though then 25p/50p per month for 6 mths is perhaps better
