How did you cancel the TV??? Online?

Still holding out for a deal on the Q990C !
    sheffield788's avatar
The 990b was at least twice the price of the 930b last year. Same a year before, on the A models. If £700-800 is an OK price for you, maybe you'll see it at that price, but I don't think it will be under that price. Personally, I feel the 930 model is the best value of the whole range.

Did people who bought previouslu manage to return the TV and get a refund?

am very tempted, currently have a 5.1 cambridge audio setup that about 10 yrs old - would this soundbar be an improvement, have been put off by `tinnie` thin sounding bars before, would you recommend this? thanks
    stressedman's avatar
i have the 930b and while its really good and i am happy - i think a dedicated 5.1 can sound better. Depending on your amp this is likely not better than what you have...

i have had 5.1 speaker/amp setups over the years and when my situation allows I will go back to my old speakers with a new amp over the 930b. the 930b has smaller speakers than the 990b so the c must be the same, dont forget the 990 has a larger sub with the new waveguide thing and that sub does sound amazing, the 930 sub is close but not first class.

Anyone recommend some good speaker stands for the rear speakers
    piihukd's avatar
Amazon have a set made by Mounting Dream that seem to be recieved well. Check the review photos that show the actually rear speaker mounted.

Set it up today. Amazing sound quality. Movies are like im in a cinema. Music sound awesome too. Initially it didnt sound good but playing with settings and doing a reset has fixed the issues. I have it connected to an lg tv. (edited)
    Vandetta's avatar
Could u shed some light on which settings to fix etc. I don't think I'm getting the best sound output
  7. Marcre's avatar
You never realise how good those audio systems are until you go to your friends house and watch a movie or series without them.

Bought the sound bar and the £119.99 TV online with free delivery. Delivered today. Went to my local Currys store and returned the TV for £119.99 refund. Sales staff didn't challenge the transaction at all.

Sound bar and sub setup, tried Top Gun Maverick and I'm blown away. Just need to do the rears but very happy with this £399.99 purchase.

How did you present proof of purchase? Did they ask for your address? Order number? (edited)
  9. samlg's avatar
Purchased! Hoping maybe TV could be a Xmas present for someone..
  10. stressedman's avatar
my philips 2.1 soundbar circa 2014 has a better, more lively sound profile than my samsung q60t and even the 930b...!
    nowtbeta2do's avatar
So you've got a q60t and q930b going spare? £50 for both, final offer.
  11. Ben10's avatar
Why people spend this much on theses I never know

I bet my LOGITECH Z906 5.1 Speakers destroy them in sound at half the price!

They are so loud you could wake all the street up
    Megamind123's avatar
Its not about the sound but quality.

I got the other deal with the JVC 24" TV for £498 and i sold my nearly 3 yr old Q600A sound bar and sub for £170 and the rear speaker system i got free with it for £230 which i thought was a crazy price but the guy has left feedback so happy days. i also sold the 24" tv that i bought to get this deal for £65 so it has cost me £35 for the Q930c full set up and i must admit the sound quality is far better than the Q600A and didn't take hardly any setting, just plugged everything in and the sub and rear speakers connected without me having to pair and the sub has some very good Bass so im very impressed with my purchase
  13. XtremeDJW's avatar
Just chiming in to say that I also got a hassle free refund on the TV, via online chat.

Soundbar is quality as well, very happy!

    For any interested
I bought this after owning the q930b
    This is better
It is tighter and cleaner sounding
    However, my advice is
Do not update the firmware out of the box, leave it as is
With my q930b I found it got worse after updating and needed more tweaking

    Also settings advice
    Adaptive
Reduce tone setting bass down - 2, treble +2
    Sub leave as is
    Spacefit turned on
Change channel settings centre +3 (edited)
    redegan82's avatar
Hi have you had any issues using earc or Samsung soundbar plus Tv setting as when im using Soundbar + TV the surround sound and standard option disappears leaving only Adaptive and game which is really annoying me as i have reset the TV and Soundbar and cable is earc compatible so i dont know what else to do lol

Would the curry’s discount code prevent a cash back claim with Samsung?
    nowtbeta2do's avatar
Which cash back claim would this be please?
  22. Karl_Kirk's avatar
Mine is getting delivered today. I missed out on the last deal. I bought the slightly more expensive smart 24’’ tv as I thought it would be easier to gift / sell!

    shakerstevens's avatar
working fine as of 10:50AM - cheapest TV is JVC LT-24C490 24" HD Ready LED TV - Black and you receive both items at £518.99 once code is applied
  25. TurkishGB's avatar
I got the Q930B and it's been OK so far. Sometimes I need to reset it to get the sound working but I think it's more a tv problem. I paid £650 using a deal loophole so to see the 930C at this price is impressive.
    Kay_Dot's avatar
I have 930b too. I think your issues may be tv ? Check if you’ve set audio settings as passthrough and bitstream on tv settings. Mine works seamlessly with almost no issues. Really enjoy them
  26. megagold5's avatar
I got the Q930B last year for a ridiculous price, like £400 or something as I recall after cashback. From what I've heard the Q930C is basically exactly the same. If so, the only downsides to an otherwise GREAT system are music playback is just "fine" and it very occasionally needs to be plugged out and in again when it craps out. I was previously having issues with rare dropouts for a second or two, but seem to have solved that with an HDMI 2.1 (ultra high speed) quality cable.

Looks like it excludes Chrome cast for some silly reason in the UK. I can only see the Australian version having Chrome cast support.

Don't think I want to import a soundbar that would be upside down just for that feature.
  28. sid7777's avatar
I have this, great sound. Got it for slightly less but this is a great price. (edited)

Does this support Dolby Vision passthrough? The specs list say only HDR10+ however some reviews are saying it works with Dolby Vision?
    BootStrapWill's avatar
If your TV supports it, use the HDMI arc connection.

I am 50/50 whether to pull the trigger, just size of my room is putting me off. Anyone have similar size room(11.5ft x 9.5ft) to give me some feedback.
    thoman2003's avatar
    It should work perfect.

Cheers, I will go ahead with purchase.

Not really, I think its a software tweek whilst psyically its very simialr.

Wish samsung would concentrate on the looks and not just sound quality, this is the equivalent of an 80s technics system 😄

Can you return the tv for a refund?

I got mine today. Is the volume of rear speakers fixed in sync with main Soundbar or do we have option of increasing the volume of rear speakers separately?
    Matthew_Holmes's avatar
In the settings you can increase the volume of the rear speakers. Use the CH level button on the remote.
Also make sure the surround sound setting is set with the speakers in the rear position.

Mine was literally plug and play and as long as you have the hdmi going through the earc/arc port on you tv to the earc port on the soundbar then it should just work. Only frustrating thing is the rear speakers still need a plug socket for each of them as i wanted them directly behind the sofa but now there just facing each side of the sofa

Got the soundbar. Any recommendations for a decent 65" TV? Prefer Samsung brand. Thank you
    TheGhost's avatar
Qn90 or the samsung Qd oled
  39. Balvinder_Singh19's avatar
Mine also, soundbar delivered today, and cancelled my TV via online chat.
    Yet to open my soundbar.

I got the email stating the amount of the refund so hopefully it will be positive

    Happy days!! Thanks.
