I'd suggest reading this review. The main point I picked up on is that the front chainring is 42t and the cassette is 11/28. So the lowest gear available if 42-28, which is high by modern standards and means that steep hills will be a struggle unless you are very fit.

Save yourself £220 by not buying this! It will not give an enjoyable experience on any of the terrains in the marketing description...

The gears are too high for a gravel bike, and it's a little heavy, but. . . it's £189 - even once you factor in a new chainring or cassette, it'll still be a good deal.

You would be better off swopping the cassette than that. It's currently 42T at the front so even if you changed to 36T at the front when combined with a cassette that has 28T as its maximum cog size that is not very low gearing and gravel bikes typically need low gearing. You can get 11-40T 10 speed cassettes relatively cheap and that would be 42T at the front and 40T at the rear so almost 1:1 gearing

Seems great for the money but you will probably need a wide ratio 10 speed cassette and a gear hanger extender unless you are super fit. Not sure how much that would add to the price, perhaps £25 to £50 for the cassette and £4 for the gear hanger extender. I'd probably go for a 11-50T cassette but 11-46T is another option.

    Perfect for this weather

Disagree. It doesn't have enough easy gears so you're going to hate any kind of hill.

just keep the gears the same and your legs will become super strong
    hamsterboy's avatar
Definitely. I ride round in pretty much the wrong gear all the time for this reason. *True story*
