'I was amazed at just how smart this machine was' - Express

'I have just started using this and and what impressed me is that it much quieter than the Meaco 12L low energy dehumidifier which was almost industrial by comparison - it is so quiet. The Arete rates five stars+' - Meaco customer

Ive had nothing but problems with Meaco dehumidifiers they never last more than 12 months and Meaco charge you to return it back to them , also customers service is bad and you have to fill out endles forms with them to even be able to return it , I recently switched to ebac one and its brilliant, also Meaco seem to lie on coverage as they said it was for. 3-4 bedroom house but it struggled doing just upstairs! Now with my new ebac one it can do all our house upstairs and down with no problems, Bear this in mind

It's funny as they have such good reviews generally. Which shows 12% of units have to be repaired in first 5 years. Pro breeze and Delonghi rates are 3 & 2% respectively.

Looking at the delonghi eBay 14l deal at the moment for this reason

The bigger the better. cheaper to have a big unit, than having to replaster and redecorate .

Does anyone know how big the tank is please.

51874264-TxmJg.jpgThis what my 20L pulled last night had on over 10 hours .i had the 12L model didn’t pull this amount out so I sold that unit and purchase the 20L unit.
    Aaqam's avatar
Agreed I got the 25L absolutely brilliant.

Does matter what it cost. what the big units do covers the cost. ( Health. redecorating replaster).

What ever is your budget get what you can afford. great units that are vital as the cost of energy is going up home not getting heated as much as a few years ago. so moisture is now a big factor. (edited)

Worth bearing in mind the Arete two range is supposed to be announced in 2023. One poster in another thread claimed they received a response to their enquiry in early Dec it was still due to be this month

Saw this in a blog post on their website that it was going to be January. My old dehumidifier failed last week, so I'm holding out for the Arete Two.

    I bought a 12l Arete which I find
Perfectly adequate for my 4 bed house, my friend like a lot of others think that bigger is better!
    He bought the 25L Arete.
I totally disagree, I like the portability of the smaller 12L it gets the job done!
You try lugging the 25L up and down the stairs Stick with the 12L
You will not be disappointed. (edited)

I purchased a second 12L from John Lewis this week at the same price. I hope it will arrive w/o issues.

I learned the hard way that I had to use two dehumidifiers for both downstairs and upstairs. I am sick and tired of mould

We’ve had an Arete One 25l for about a month and it keeps accumulating water underneath the water tank, to the point where it was almost leaking out onto the floor (the tank itself wasn’t even half full). Trying to get support is painful, on the verge of just returning it to Argos for refund at this stage (no stock available)
    UkGotHotDeals's avatar
Try reseating the lid for the water collection tank, also make sure the float is not obstructed.

is it better having a smaller one upstairs and a smaller one downstairs. rather than the one big one say upstairs?
    thanks
    cody239's avatar
If you can afford big downstairs and big up stairs.

I bought one at the end of the summer. I had an electriq before this one. Honestly the electriq was really good as well. Would also recommend them. This 12L arete dries my clothes hung in bathroom almost overnight. It does have the annoying 6 hour shut off on laundry setting, so I just restart it when I have my middle of the night loo run, or leave it on normal dehumidifier as it boosts up when humidity higher. Get the hepa filters. The amount of dust those pick up is to mind blowing. I hoover my filter when I remember - so it is an air purifier in one. I bought this dehumidifier end of summer and best purchase of past year. Won’t recommend it for 3 bedroom house though. Go bigger.
