I’m currently on day 4 of this mattress and I’m not convinced but going to give it a good 10 days. When my parter moves I can feel it a lot more than my old mattress and if two of us are more towards the middle it seems to collapse in on itself a little. I’d say it’s more medium soft than medium firm. Time will tell.

I'm no mattress specialist but a good mattress for one doesn't always mean it's good for 2. Reviews for mattress should be split.

We bought an ottoman bed and this mattress from Dusk and had it delivered in December. It's comfortable, I haven't felt it due to the topper effect that it was too warm when using it (I'm always cold so unlikely to be a problem for me!) and we are finding it fine for our needs. If you wanted a very firm mattress this isn't it in my experience. (We tried some in dreams store that were firm but for us it was like laying on a brick wall)

The delivery could be as quick as a couple of days but like Melmelee we had some work to do before we wanted the bed delivered and so we chose to wait about 5 weeks.

Waiting for IKEA mattress sale on 11th, which one is the best value from their standard ones, the cheapest one feels the most firm.

We bought an ikea mattress. It was which recommended blah blah blah. It was dire . Three months later gave it away. Utter rubbish, I also cancelled my which membership !!!! Just don’t. We bought another Silentnight. And it’s brilliant.

If anyone can recommend a good value king size, turnable, pocket sprung mattress, it'd much appreciated. TIA!

Depends on your definition of good value. The best value king size mattress I could find after extensive research was the British Bed Company York Mattress £798 from Mattressman. I believe that Mattressman is one if not the biggest seller of mattresses in the UK and the British Bed Company is their own make. It has 1500 full size springs (the sweetspot for a king size mattress), is double sided, has Cashmere, Fibre Fillings, Mohair, Silk, Wool filling, a 60 day sleep trial and a 5 year warranty. It is medium firm - your weight/partners weight and sleeping position will determine the firmness you need. (edited)

I just purchased one haven't tried it before but I did purchase there bedframe from them and they are very good quality. Reading the reviews online seems positive. £479 for the spec your getting seemed fair price compared to other mattress manufacturers. They do offer you a 100 night sleep return if you are unhappy with it.

I don’t know about this brand… but moving to the UK is a great deal . Welcome to the UK and all the best with the move!

I bought this mattress for less than half the price of the Dusk one and it's amazing!

It says they don't use fibre glass... The fact they state they don't use fibreglass makes me think they do lol... But you should post this... Most people think that these Emma and various other mem foam for circa 600-1000 are the only option... I reckon based on your feedback these are just as good as at a fraction of the price..

Stupid question perhaps but here it goes: do the people who deliver mattresses usually take the old ones away with them? If not, how do you dispose of the old one?
    barnehurst's avatar
most councils will arrange to take it away (for a small fee) check your local council website, under 'waste disposal'

We’ve got one, after purchasing a bed and mattress bundle in the summer from Dusk. We’ve been very pleased with it.

One year guarantee seems awful tbh, no matter what mattress you are purchasing

My opinion is that guarantee is a marketing gemick and its only for manufacture defects.

Just bought this in Superking - argos.co.uk/pro…416

    Hoping it is comfortable.

Ive just bought this mattress and an ottoman bed in super king size from DUSK. I compared so many mattresses, reviews, then went to John Lewis to try some out and concluded that to compare the price of a 1200 pocket to a 4,000 seems to me like comparing products competing at different price and quality points? I was persuaded by user reviews, product specification, price and the company. I am certain that I could have purchased a mattress for less money, however, in my opinion the balance between product and price point was very competitive. Delivery is in February which is not a problem for me as we are refreshing the bedroom. Heat added.

Are "Pocket Sprung" memory foam beds any good? Will they last or will they start to sag?
    ahmed.zribi's avatar
    Author
They are better and tend to last longer. Memory Foam will sag after 2-3 years especially if someone is heavier. Pocket spring will stop this happened. And pocket spring is individual springs which work independently. Your basically getting the pros of both options.

We went for the Hypnos Ortho Elite Extra Firm Mattress £595 10 years warranty for double .The John Lewis Harrison hand made are the best silk mohair lambs wool .I have sold hundreds of mattresses horses for courses you get what you pay for.Would avoid hybrid mattresses if you wish to avoid roll together or if partner is much different weight than your self.

We got Emma Helix hybrid . Very good

Click n link beds are my number 1 choice for 2 people, never go back to a king-size bed now after sleeping in mine. You don't disturb your partner when u turn over at night.

I'm after a double bed preferably with mattress, but happy to buy individually as did for current. However Emma memory foam didn't last two years and neither did argos bed frame.
Don't have all the money in the world to spend so would like value but obviously at least comfortable and longevity. Whenever I see a deal come up I'm like, ooh this maybe the one! Then I read comments, and always left even more bamboozled, deflated and with no new bed decision!

We ended up going to Ikea, dreams and bensons for beds, and trying all the mattresses. Glad we did as we the descriptions and firmness ratings seldom matched the feel of the mattresses when laid on them.

Ended up going for a Benson for Beds own brand slumberland mattress, would have gone for dreams but they only have a 1 year warranty unless you pay for extended warranty. Luckily we found a discount code for Bensons, ordered via the website, and got interest free credit on it.

Worth testing them out physically if you can get to a store, as the last couple of mattresses we blind bought have not been good.
