Looks nice but I put all my phones in a case so a lot of what's appealing about this phone seems kind of pointless?
    Rb_'s avatar
    Get a clear case?

Great deal, shame I just ordered direct from their website. Reached out to their customer support if they can match or might return when arrives. Cheers Switchy!

Update - Reached out to Nothing customer service if they can do something since my order was already placed and Nothing isn't giving these buds free. There response was... "there is noting we can do to match third party sellers, keep an eye for next offers". Thinking about cancelling the order or returning when phone arrives & will order from Amazon. Please let me know if anyone else in similar situation. (edited)

Don't accept the package when it arrives and they will have to return it and you will then get a refund.

This or the pixel 7a at £299 from John Lewis
    JoeyPants's avatar
I've had the 7a since September and can't fault it except the atrocious battery life & screen brightness that needs to be turned all the way up or you won't see anything outside. Love the fact that the 7a has great user interface and no bloatware which is why I could never get used to a Samsung, coming from an iPhone.

Nothing phone's also have a great user interface & no bloatware that's very appealing, and I'm tempted to sell my 7a and go for this mainly for 3 reasons,
1: a great 120hz much bigger screen for watching stuff.
2: two day battery life apparently, which would be awesome.
    3: the very reasonable price.

Only thing I'm not sure about is the plastic back because the Nothing 1 & 2 feel super premium in the hand, practically like an iPhone pro max.
  4. corkeinator's avatar
Not sure to buy this or the Nothing 1, can get the 1 for £60 cheaper on eBay. Think the build quality would be better, and it supports wireless charging.
    JoeyPants's avatar
I've had the Nothing 1 for a couple of weeks and absolutely loved it, it felt really premium in the hand, like an iPhone pro max, the 2a has a plastic back apparently which doesn't sound premium at all if that's important.
  5. ken218's avatar
I am tempted to get this to replace my Poco F5 due to the design , and ... arguably, better brand image. But this feels like a downgrade in relative terms in most aspects excepts the camera. Thoughts?
    CynicalNurse's avatar
Don't upgrade a phone because of "better brand image", upgrade if it's a better phone.
  6. gram333uk's avatar
How does this compare to the regular 2 model? is it cut down version?
    hax3's avatar
Yes, it's a budget version of a budget version.
  7. bobbyh89's avatar
No wireless charging IMO is just unacceptable in 2024. Every mid ranger at least should have it considering it's been around for 12 years now.
    luketheengineer's avatar
Meh, totally uninterested in wireless charging personally as it's been (in my experience) much slower
  8. Moss.b's avatar
    Looks awful.
    LiquidL's avatar
I would probably advise not buying it then

    And..
  10. plewis00's avatar
They got the mid-range pricing just right with this and didn't take the mick with the storage/RAM upgrade. Think it's great how they retained the equal, thin bezels all round. Hope it does well.

After checking some of the reviews (example), I went ahead and pre-ordered it! Silly name for a phone, but a fantastic budget phone with great camera starting at £319 (8+128GB)!!
    phatbhoy's avatar
Its not a "great" camera - its an "ok" camera

I'm tempted by this. Just deciding on the colour...
    ohsomeonenew's avatar
White one looks nice. Just worried about all the scratches on that plastic back.
  15. hardstylemw's avatar
I'd go for the 7a, Edge 40 or Redmi Note 13 pro at this price point. This phone is a swing and a miss from Nothing who were making interesting phones up until this point.
    jaju123's avatar
This probably has better battery than all of those. Obviously a lot worse camera than p7a though.
  16. jaju123's avatar
    Looks very reasonable
  17. 00tommo's avatar
Really like the look of this as an upgrade from my 3 year old OnePlus 8T. Hell of a price too.
    kawsar17's avatar
    Same..

Some downgrades tho - slower charging, build quality, processor

52332745-Kz6VR.jpgThis company is nothing like apple, I even bought nothing product on their Amazon store, due to their policy, their amazon store is outsourcing, their store asked me to contact nothing, nothing asked me to contact their Amazon store, insane company, don't really trust this company.
    BadGoy's avatar
Who told you it's like Apple?
  22. Noclouds's avatar
I love this phone! I wasn't expecting a budget price. I mean obviously if cameras, specifically the front facing cameras, are important to you there are better budget phones to go for (hopefully Nothing can sort out the focusing issues, particularly, in a firmware release, not sure what's going on there) and obviously not a great gaming phone, sure, but - it's a lot of fun!

Seems to be encouraging you to make better use of your phone. And you don't have to spend ages debloating, deleting apps, something I'm not used to seeing on a semi-budget phone, really like some of Nothing's clever features, design choices and their OS aesthetic, it just looks so cool. Plus, though obviously we'd like more, three Android version updates seems not too bad. And who cares if it's plastic, if you get a good looking protective case for it?

I mean, if gaming and (front cameras) photography isn't something you do much of on a phone, aren't important features to you, and if you want to stand out from the crowd, in a good way, don't mind that your phone is a solid conversation starter, it's pretty hard to resist at that price. Pretty gutsy price considering the lack of app bloat, hope it's a success for them.

I had the original Nothing phone and it was excellent apart from the screen scratching very easily. I see from reviews they have sorted that out with much better glass.
    Cremoso99's avatar
Plastic back still scratches easily though so probably need a case.
  24. Eljmayes's avatar
Battery life is supposed to be excellent on the 2a even compared to the 2.

I’m thinking of switching from the Pixel 7 to this.
  25. 00tommo's avatar
Got my buds through yesterday. They seem pretty decent quality.

I have no affiliation but pre order from here and you'll also receive a years free subscription ($200 worth) for Perplexity.ai, but without the free buds! (edited)

    deleted2686495's avatar
If you Google it, for this phone, supposed to be 3 OS versions and 4 years security patches.

How would the camera compare to say the Pixel 4a camera?

According to their terms of sale, amazon is not listed as an authorised reseller, so wouldn't be covered by the 2 year limited warranty from 'nothing'? See sections 6 and 7.1.K

    https://nothing.tech/pages/terms-of-sales

And the online stores section of

    https://nothing.tech/pages/store-locator

I'm wondering if the after sales support might be an issue in the event of something going wrong e.g. you go to amazon, they say contact the manufacturer, you contact the manufacturer, they say contact the seller etc.

I'm assuming you would be ok for a year if you purchased from amazon but wouldn't be covered for 2 years like you would via an authorised seller? Unfortunately can't find much about 'warranty' and 'Amazon'. (edited)
    TheVoice's avatar
I would be very surprised if Amazon aren't an authorised reseller, considering they have a full Nothing branded storefront page. Would be worth confirming with Nothing themselves though.
