Denon AVR-S660H

The perfect way to enhance both movies and gaming, the Denon AVR-S660H brings audio immersion to your home entertainment.

Truly immersive sound
Soundbars and bases offer a great step-up over your TV’s speakers but they still can’t beat the immersive sound of an AV receiver like this Denon AVR-S660H. With 5.2 channel Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, you get surround sound that’s pin-sharp in detail and totally enveloping – just like at the cinema.

Ready for 8K – with three 8K HDMI inputs
Featuring three, dedicated 8K compliant HDMI inputs and a matching output, this Denon AVR is ready for the next generation of TV and gaming. Not only does the amp pass through 8K/60Hz signals, but it also upscales HDMI signals to the 8K standard, too – helping you make the most of your 8K TV with 4K UHD media.

Serious about gaming
The latest HDMI support also marks a big improvement in gaming. 4K/120Hz and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support maximise resolution and clarity. Quick Frame Transport (QFT) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) help eliminate lag and frame tearing, giving you a smoother, more responsive gaming experience.

Support eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel)
As part of the HDMI interface support, eARC is now standard. This enables uncompressed audio transmission from your TV, back to the Denon receiver. This is ideal for getting the best audio from any smart TV apps and services you may use.

Supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR
Equipped with a flexible 6 in/1 out HDMI interface, the AVR-S660H supports a wide range of High Dynamic Range video formats. These include Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. It also supports HDR10+, which enhances picture realism by sending dynamic Meta data to your TV, as well as Dynamic HDR. In short, whatever the format used by the film, game or stream, the Denon supports it.

Works with your voice assistant
The AVR-S660H is compatible with Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa, making it widely compatible with your choice of voice assistant. For Alexa or Google Assistant control, simply download the HEOS app. Pair your Echo device if you’re using Alexa and you’re good to go. For control via Siri, simply link the amp via Apple AirPlay 2 and enjoy voice interaction and AirPlay 2 multi-room support.

HEOS built-in - for the finest multi-room audio
HEOS multi-room music systems connect together by dual-band Wi-Fi, making them easy to set up with your existing home network. Up to 32 HEOS units can be set up at one time, ensuring even the largest of homes are covered for multi-room music. With HEOS already built-in, the AVR-S660H is ready to go as a single 'zone' without any further adaptors.

Control it all with the HEOS app
Once you've set up your HEOS speaker system, you can stream music effortlessly via the dedicated HEOS app. Available for Apple iOS and Android, the app not only lets you stream your stored music but also Internet radio services and popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Napster and Deezer.

Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, and built-in wi-fi for the complete networking experience
With both Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 connectivity it's easy to connect all your smartphones, tablets and compatible lap/desktops and stream music wirelessly. The AVR-S660H also comes with wi-fi and Internet radio. Simply connect to your home network via Ethernet or wi-fi and access thousands of Internet radio sites via TuneIn as well as subscription services such as Spotify Connect (requires Spotify Premium account). A Bluetooth headphone output is now also standard.

Connect it all – including a turntable
As well as six HDMI inputs, the Denon also has a wide range of other AV connectivity. Older AV sources are catered for with two composite inputs. Optical digital inputs are ideal for connecting older devices, too or upgrading the sound from a compatible CD/Network music player. Two analogue inputs are perfect for hi-fi components, with the dedicated MM phono input perfect for plugging in a turntable.

Make it more entertaining, with the Denon AVR-S660H.

Jamo S 805 HCS

Stylish and compact, the Jamo S 805 HCS makes the ideal home cinema speaker system for big sound in smaller rooms.

Matched speakers for harmonious sound
The Jamo S 805 HCS is a complete set of five speakers, perfectly matched for seamless surround sound. Compromising of the S 805 floorstander speakers, S 801 rears and the S 81 CEN centre speaker, there’s everything your AV receiver needs for 5-channel surround sound. As well as matching finishes and design, the five speakers are perfectly matched sonically, giving you immaculate sound right around your room.

Smooth and focused top-end
Soft dome tweeters deliver the perfect top end blend of detail and refinement. Even at higher levels, this Jamo speaker package sounds smooth and unflustered. The integrated WaveGuide helps focus the treble, meaning that it sounds integrated with the mid-range for a true sense of realism.

Slim design promotes a natural and spacious sound
With their slim cabinets and compact woofer design, the S 805 HCS sounds naturally spacious and quick to respond. This gives vocals a lifelike and ‘out of the box’ sound, easily filling the space between the speakers. Just as with the top end response, the mid-range is smoothly balanced and intricately detailed.

Deeper bass than you might expect
Small but powerful, the S 805 speakers have received praise for their powerful sound. The award-winning speakers feature Polyfibre woofers, ensuring that the S 805 HCS’s bass response is deep enough to cope with all types of content. Because the woofers are smaller in diameter, they’re also fast to respond. This means that as well as being deep, the bass response is also punchy and hits every note with perfect timing.

Unique design, with wooden accents
Featuring wooden accents, the S 805 HCS has a crafted style that stands out from the crowd. The magnetically attached grille ensures smooth, uncluttered lines, whether the grilles are on or off. For the best match, simply choose the colour that best suits your décor.

Move up from your soundbar and enjoy truly immersive surround sound, with the Jamo S 805 HCS.

Mine costs 3 times as much as this but not all people would want to pay that much so this might just work for them.

I have this receiver in my living room and I love it. Upgraded from an older Denon because of the eARC support and phono input. I can do everything with one remote (LG magic) for the first time ever. It sounds great (I don’t have the same speakers as this deal).

I'm sorely tempted by this as my soundbar has died.

There's better for everything, but you are looking at least a grand or two more for anything clearly better.

And at this price replacing any individual part later won't be that painful.

Wonder how this compares against my AVR2300 and Tannoy TFX…

I have the 2400h. Main thing it can't do that I want is 4K 120mhz and EARC. Other than that, still great and sounds amazing.

Is this entry level. Is there anything cheaper with an AV receiver. 4K/120hz would be ideal

How does this compare to a soundbar? Say for example, samsungs Q930C, which is a 9.1.4 system? samsung.com/uk/…xu/
