Saw this a short while ago. I bought this a few weeks ago for this price from Amazon. I like it . I also have the M10 too. I'm happy with both my Lenovo tabs. Both good price and do everything I need . Heat

Is the M8 the same but smaller screen? (4GB, 64GB)

Not full HD, 4GB ram - I think the performance will be pretty limited
Plus Lenovo isn't exactly the best company to release updated android versions...

Honor X9 would be a better bet

Why have tablets never kept up with the specs of phones?
    LordAnchemis's avatar
    There are 2 issues really

    1. Price - the specs on tablets are often worse as they're much cheaper than phones overall - and even a 'mid-range' phone these days can easily be £300+ - so if you're looking for decent specs on a tablet, you'd have to be prepared to pay more (bigger screen/battery costs more etc.)

    2. Market pressures - as phones are getting bigger, to the point that they're directly competing against tablets (running the same OS as phones)

Manufacturers only have 2 ways to compete - one is to go big/premium (much higher priced model) or to cut costs (and specs) to the bare minimum (edited)

This seems the better deal over the one I posted:
    hotukdeals.com/sha…297

Good find . Not only a bigger screen and better processor, but also comes with a case and screen protector. Also the option to pay over 5 instalments of £20 with no interest.

This seems perfect for what I was looking for: a small(ish) tablet under £100 for game streaming and light android gaming, paired with the telescopic controller recommended in this video:

Have a look at the 'gamesir g8 galileo'. The best you can get ATM and you can mod it for larger tablets, this may fit without modding though

The screen on this, as with most sub-10" tablets, will look realtively poor as the resolution is so low. Trying to find a replacement for a parent's Tab S2 but there's nothing out there

The Tab S2 8" was the last Samsung flagship that was smaller than 10" IIRC. I loved mine.

The only real sub-10" with flagship specs is the Lenovo Legion Y700 - but it's China only and there are so many configurations, with the lack of software updates makes it a dealbreaker for me.

A good price, I've got the 3 and 4GB versions - the screen resolution is a bit of a let down but given the price it's OK and good enough for most use. Build quality is nice, performance OK and overall I'm pleased (I wish I'd not cheaped out on the 3GB though)

It feels to me that the spec of these types of tablets has stagnated for the last 10 years? I know it's a cheap tablet, but I'm not sure it'll be fit for purpose for very long.
    sheffield788's avatar
It depends on the purpose. Mine is 3gb and it is fine for me, as I use it mostly as a media player.

Looks like its £10 less direct from lenovo?

i have one of these for upstairs home assistant. Struggled to get a wall mount for it - but apart from that it works well for relatively little cost.
