Does this connect to Homebase 2?
    JammyD's avatar
No, needs homebase 3. Otherwise works fine without the homebase 3 using the app, will just have fewer functions

What’s the video quality like on these? I’ve got ring floodlight cams that need hooking up but don’t mind these if better.

    So these do continuous recording?

Bargain! I paid £120 for mine and I thought that was a good price.

Any good without the Homebase3, I find my Ring stick up camera is crap WIFI wise
    J_Troll90's avatar
I have these and a doorbell without the Homebase and they work great!
  7. Naith's avatar
Can I ask what the benefits are of adding the Homebase 3? Is it worth over a hundred quid on top? TIA
    originalli's avatar
I am still yet not got the answer but I have hub 3.
The advantage is that if someone steals your camera you have video stored in your house. It does recognise faces and objects too. I only have these two cameras and hub. Planning to get doorbell. It doesn't support 24/7 recording on battery powered cameras you need to have certain type

Does this work without a homebase?
    donnyorourke's avatar
It has SD card slot. But...if someone saw it and went to nick it, they have the card and the evidence too. Least with the HomeBase3 you have that inside the house, out of the way so it's stored outside of the camera. Much better idea

I am not a business owner. Can I still get this?
    SeanRTK's avatar
You don't have to be a business owner to get a Costco membership, the list of requirements for an in-store membership is huge, a lot of the time you can get one through your employer. Take a look at the website and check the requirements for joining, you may be surprised.

Failing that I don't think there are any requirements for an online only membership at £15 a year so you should be able to get that at least.

Just to add here that these won't work with the HomeBase 2 base station. These 'solo' cameras have local storage instead of a base station.
I have the older Homebase 2 along with the doorbell and the HD wireless cameras and they all play along nicely. I need to charge the cameras once every 2 months. (edited)
    SeanRTK's avatar
Not sure if you've stated the HB3 when you meant HB2 and vice versa, but these do work with the HB3. I have 2 of them set up to my HB3 now.

Bitter experience... don't rely on these cameras WITHOUT the Homebase 3...

I couldn't rely on the footage captured on local storage after a few months due to the eufy app/camera deleting huge chunks of the most recent captures while attempting to access recent events to review...

It seems any kind of stutter in the connection between the reading device and the cameras just toasts the database directory of clips.

All of that went away when I subscribed briefly to the cloud service and has stayed away since I installed the Homebase 3 with a dedicated 5400rpm 2.5in HDD...

I would now trust my Floodlight Cams.

I absolutely couldn't trust them prior to moving storage to an external repository.

I’ve got 3 of these without Homebase 3 and have had them for nearly a year. I’ve never had any of these issues.
  13. bigpappa's avatar
I hope yours work. Mine have never connected to the Homebase.
    Reytak's avatar
Which homebase version, only v3 compatible.
  14. Ozzi's avatar
Are you able to set recording windows? I. E. I don't need any monitoring during the day just through the night?
    daearegwr's avatar
Yes you can set schedules for when you're home or away and choose what happens in each (record, get notifications, trigger camera alarm)

    Hi All,

Just wondering, with these being battery/solar operated & being connected solely via WiFi, can they be reliably be used high up on a house near the roof line?

I am wondering if the Solar Charging Aspect is sufficient enough to keep the battery charged as I do not fancy going up on a high ladder each time the battery might need changing/charging.

Also & very importantly, at such a high location on the outside of the property, will the WiFi be strong & stable enough to work? If anyone has theirs in a similar location, please kindly provide input!

    Many Thanks!
    daearegwr's avatar
The problem with putting them that high is the motion detection probably won't work and these cameras only record after motion is detected. Eufy recommended placing them 7-10ft to work optimally.

If you want to put cameras that high up best going for a wired system that records 24/7

Does anybody know the link to view the voucher book beforehand. I'm sure I have come across it here somewhere.

If you can't get from online, eufy app have them for £119 still a saving if these don't come back

    Ordered.

So as these are these local storage, what about motion alerts ?
    originalli's avatar
The cameras to be linked to WiFi and then when / if they capture motion they record the video and send the notifications - they may be rich - so you see the snapshot from the video

So have two up at two different locations, thoughts versus my Ring Stick Up and Pro doorcam and Arlo Pro2 cameras.

Setup a doddle, wifi better, video better, battery, Solar good, but detection is poor, hit and miss and even tweaking the settings it doesn't record the whole motion.

    Any tips?
    stephenh0's avatar
how high have you got them mounted? in the app there should be a setup guide or some tips on motion detection. you almost want to point the camera to the side of where you want the motion to be picked up. you can do a motion test in real time with the app and the camera testing out different positions

This is a great deal. I've had mine for a couple of months now, and the battery is still on 100%. image quality and general performance is excellent

This is insanely cheap. I don't need it but am so tempted at this price (edited)

Nice find. Picked mine up in November when they were £130 for two.

Thanks OP. I was going to bite at the non solar for £75 the other day, but for the extra £25 I think it's good to go.

It will be additional cameras to a hardwired Poe system, but creates a double layer of security.
  28. The_Kurgan's avatar
Great price. Wish I hadn't bit on just one a few weeks ago. Not sure I really need another two, but I'm sure I can find room with our two garden cats to keep an eye on.

Seems like a bad idea having a battery charging out in full sunlight, but I guess it must work out OK.
  32. William_Hatton's avatar
I want to cover my garden alone with video, but also capture audio of my neighbours, just to the side of my window, since they start running commentary on our household goings on at about 6am and i'd like to evidence it as its becoming unbearable. This or something else?
    Itsmenotthee's avatar
You'd need a wired one to permanently record. This wouldn't record just sound. It only starts recording when it seems a human.
  33. wadepayne's avatar
Feel silly asking but tired as working nights and on a break. Can anyone get a cost co account and is it best sticking with the cheapest option. Also do you need to show i.d. in a store. Thanks
    jamgin's avatar
Yup. Anybody can sign up for online orders only which costs £15 a year.
  34. bigup's avatar
Can you at least get a live view from the camera? Like ring?

I've got few 2C cameras and home base 2. Interested to swap them to the solar one.
Anyone using this camera how long does the battery last during winter please ?
  38. lasuil's avatar
I personally regret buying into Eify - the 2c system is very unreliable. It has a mind of its own when it wants to record and when it doesn't. It missed the only crime it should have spotted (something stolen from front door)
  39. chanuzaj's avatar
Can somebody explain what the homebase 3 does to the eufy ecosystem? I've got a doorbell with an sd card in the chime. I want an outdoor cam and this looks like it has I built storage so what would extra things would a homebase do?

Is this worth it if I already have a ring doorbell? I want to eventually cancel my ring sub and get cameras instead.
