Pretty nice price for flights to Zante! Under £20 each way, flights are with easyJet from Gatwick - Usual hand luggage fare rules apply!
Situated on the warm, sandy shores of Zakynthos’ south coast, Kalamaki is all you need in a resort town.
Kalamaki is all you need in a resort town. Here, the sand slopes gently into the water, making it perfect for kids, weaker swimmers, and sufferers of thalassophobia alike. Aside from the pretty beaches, the taverna-filled town has loads going for it. The vibe is distinctly low-key, with plenty of lazy day walks and chilled beachfront drinks to be had. The town is small, but a great base for nearby sights – drive out to Argassi village for water sports, walk out to Agios Sostis beach, or get a boat out to the sensational Smugglers Cove.
Hope it helps someone

not somewhere I'd go back to as I feel like we saw/did everything there was in the week we stayed there. Car/quad hire is cheap and probably the best way to get around. (don't try and drive up to the mountain summit - the way up was sketchy but the way down was worse as the engine kept cutting out where the fuel pump was sucking air!!)
strongly recommend the little farm on the outskirts of laganas, really nice family owned petting zoo/animals centre. smugglers cove looks nice, but in all honesty all it is is a view and there's really very little nearby.
the impression I got is that covid knocking tourism back hit the island fairly hard - everything was quite tired looking, but was cheap and cheerful.
definitely not somewhere to go for any longer than a week
