It’s a very good rival to Guinness, which has been unrivalled for years properly.

It’s a good marketing ploy, obviously no-one is going to walk around with a Guinness glass but it’s the conversation going, any news is good news. It’ll get people through the door.

Only reason I went in was to see if the hype lived up to it and to be fair it’s a very close 2nd, certainly better than a poor Guinness

Do They want the glass back after you've drunk it, or will the punter have to steal it again? :/
  3. vinster345's avatar
Will they be paying a living wage using this venture?
  4. mad_design_man's avatar
Who is going to take in their own souvenir Guinness glass from home with the prospect of breaking it or not getting it back! Most will take from other bars! A dumb promotion which should be banned! Brewdog have done themselves no favours here! (edited)

Old bill are gonna love people wandering around with empty pint glasses… imagine that on a. Friday club night

Yes I agree, encouraging people to carry around empty pint glasses outside pubs is a big Nono,

    It's just asking for trouble.

What a terribly ill thought out promotion 😔 :/

To be fair it doesn't say they keep it so why not. Also you can buy guinness glasses so you've not necessary stolen it

Black Heart is ok but it's no Guinness rival. The fact that BrewDog have setup this marketing as some sort of comparison/competition to Guinness will be a massive shot in the foot. Drink the two side-by-side (yes I've tried it), and I'd be amazed at any Guinness lover not rejecting BrewDog. Their marketing is very very poor, I can't help wondering if one of the directors children is running their marketing campaigns.

Their Jet Black Heart was better but was discontinued.

Not a good idea/promotion. Why encourage desperate people to snaffle a Guinness glass just for a free pint, plus carrying a glass around with you
  9. Molineux's avatar
Ho hum. None of the staff seem to know about the promo, pubs l've tried have mostly "sold out and are waiting a delivery" and when l did get a pint they tried to take my special commemorative Guiness glass. Unimpressed!
    someone_new's avatar
Where do you live where there are multiple brew dog pubs?

I hate brewdogs promotions and how they just rip everyone off. I'd rather stick to Guinness or any other beverages.

Looks free to me? Am I missing something?

Used to like Brewdog years ago but can't stand their marketing these days and the beer isn't even as good either. Guinness is miles better than their stout. Cringe. (edited)

Marketing has gone downhill since they got called out for their dodgy interview/ marketing tactics. Used to constantly advertise for marketing people with high salaries to attract the good ones then have a task of come up with an idea to market their next beer then no one would get the job
  12. gavinski101's avatar
I can see all the local pubs to any brewdog pub suddenly having all they're Guinness glasses disappearing from the punters
    UKDealzz's avatar
    Or they've sold out....lol
  13. M1ke_Hunt's avatar
My mission is to 'borrow' black heart glasses now
    Bbqueue's avatar
I'd join you, but that would involve going into one of their pubs!
  14. gingashrew's avatar
'worlds first carbon negative brewery' encouraging wasting energy intensive glass is a bit rubbish IMO
    shanecr's avatar
Re using your own glass is wasteful??
  15. vivianstuckinboringville's avatar
Stupid idea. Encourage people to to steal . Jeaus
  16. toby.wheddon's avatar
Sounds dangerous walking around with empty glasses
  17. dale7's avatar
Stick to guinness in a decent pub
    KevinMcComps's avatar
Nope. Proper stout like Murphy's, Beamish or Stag Stout all beat Guinness.

Guinness is reserved for tourists here in Ireland. (edited)
  18. bluesuns2's avatar
Another stupid idea from BrewDog. Who wants to carry a glass pint pot around? Not me
  19. someone_new's avatar
This is such a pathetic promotion. Just comes across as childish trying to bash Guinness.
    tomaszr's avatar
James Watt apparently enjoys being seen as a massive prat.

Hopefully they'll get done for handling stolen goods

Rathrer pay for a pint of Guinness thanks.
  23. Gstar2006's avatar
The comments on the Brewdog Instagram over this were not going down well. Think they will be 'losing' a lot of their pint glasses off the back of this!

Average nitro stout. My local breweries irish nitro stout is way better. I'd even go so far as to say I prefer it over Guinness. Got a nice mention in a Telegraph article the other day about Stout as well Round Corner Brewing - Social Club for anyone interested. Only sold on draught in a few places currently so good luck tracking it down.
    legodealsmad's avatar
The Melton Mowbray Brewery will keep an eye out for that one.

Doesn't say Guinness glass. Any glass you drink Guinness from is my interpretation. We need a lawyer on the case.
  26. BigRed84's avatar
Tried both! Black Heart is decent but it's no Guiness!! 💪💪💪
  27. MrSynthpop's avatar
Free Beer so hot in that regard but the marketing leaves me cold - Brewdogs continued efforts to get a rise out of other companies are just tiresome, Black Heart is a mediocre stout, Guinness is a mediocre stout, they can coexist in that liminal space of 'premium marketing beer' for people who want something easy to watch the rugby with. (edited)

Pathetic promotion from a pathetic brewery. Encouraging people to steal from pubs that are probably struggling as it without clowns stealing their glasses.
    Molineux's avatar
    Not a bad pint though
  29. gary74's avatar
I'll buy in bulk from eBay

Breedog used to be good but sold out now and nowhere near the brew it was once was.
  32. SteveKS's avatar
Do they do cans, because I can take plenty of empty Guinness cans in?

Its a trap... Now we know who is backing BrewDog...
