Er, pretty obvious you don't realise what this service is. This is cloud gaming, meaning you can game on anything that can login to Geforce NOW effectively. Means you don't need any gaming hardware, except maybe a controller.

I might consider cloud gaming one day. The main thing i want is native resolution i.e. no degradation of quality from owning a gaming PC. The ability to save the PC state e.g. allow mods etc to be downloaded. Ability to play VR titles.

Shadow PC is close to that but it's rather spendy.

What's the purpose if you don't play the games free and you can only play ones you own?

I have a rtx 3080 so no advantage

Ouch. Just looked at the prices for Geforce now, did they put these up?

Really wish they did a day pass or something like that. Or perhaps a bundle where you buy a certain amount of days and can use them whenever, I don't need the service that much, not even once a month, but perhaps on certain days.

Agreed, its so high now and even the 8.99 one isnt worth over the free tier. I completed all of Assassins Creed Odyssey on this back in the day. Had to keep refreshing every hour but was worth it haha.

Day passes could be awesome but then again, I guess it could be a loss for them

Thanks OP, gave this a try, Squad and Hell let loose ran better than on my 1050 ti lol. Stretching 1080p to 3440 x 1440 wasn't amazing though but it worked better than expected. Not having to download the games to my local hd was a nice touch, having to remap controls was a nuisance though.

Does this play games you own, their library or both.

Seems like they expire September 3rd, so make sure you activate them before then. Possibly 3 days before then, depending on your interpration

Just given it a go. Running really well on my Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 RTX 3060 laptop through WiFi at a download speed of 85mbps.
Game is running off a RTX 2080 so if you have one of those or a card equivalent to it then there's no point using this service.
I have a PC that consists of an RTX 3060 Ti, a 5700X and 64GB RAM so it won't be needed there since this GPU is more powerful than a 2080.
50836624_1.jpgCyberpunk was running at a constant 60 FPS on ultra settings without RT. (edited)

“You'll own nothing and be happy!”

    - Danish Politician Ida Auken in a 2016 essay for the World Economic Forum.

Cloud services become more and more pushy.
I miss the days you had the cd with the game you bought. You could trade it with your friends. You could sell it for cash. You owned it.
Steam stole this from us, yes, it’s easier to manage your games but it’s harder to change the game with your friends, or to sell them.
I get that now the used media back then is not enough for the increasing size of games but at the same time, what stops them from selling usb sticks with that game?
Yes piracy, I know. But there are ways to prevent that too. Like crypto hardware wallets.

Sad times for old gamers…. (edited)

well with PC games pass tying up with Geforce now and also the option to play your owned xbox store bought games, i'll be keeping an eye on this. but 8.99 for someone like me who may not play for weeks, its just not worth it.

if i could a pass where, as suggested, 30 days use and not a month, then i might be tempted.
