I wasn't sure whether to post or not based on previous comments on posted deals, but this seems to be the best price at the moment for Openreach 900MB+ full fibre broadband. It's £34.95 a month and the contract is for 24 months, so you'll need to factor in the annual price increases. There's also £76 cashback through Topcashback compare which makes it a better deal still. They do add on free trials of antivirus and Onestream Assured service which will need to be removed after ordering if you don't want to be charged as there doesn't seem to be anywhere to remove them during checkout

Guys please avoid this company at all costs even if they offer £1 for unlimited everything. Absolute trash service with even worse customer support

Has anyone been brave enough to try it? It's also available on a 12 month deal without cashback if you go through Which which is a bit more tempting as they could be ditched next year if necessary. It also looks like the Vodafone Black Friday deals are going to go live at 10pm tomorrow night... My Virgin Media contract is being terminated at the end of next week so I need to get something sorted quickly

I've used them for a couple of years now - actual broadband service is consistent and no complaints there.

I'm not sure I'd be giving much of a glowing review of their customer service and ability to answer support tickets. Pretty hopeless in that area to be frank.

    Reviews don’t seem great

Thats because this is absolutely the worst company I've personally ever had to deal with.

Any idea on what router they use for the Gigabit?
    thedynasty's avatar
Some cheapo TPlink router you literally stand above it and still only get 2 bars

Terrible customer service, terrible customer portal, awful router.

Anyone say anything good about it? It's a banging deal for openreach line. Seems tempting.

I’ve had it in the past and recommended to friends and family. Nothing bad to say and they only seem to improve each year. Just remember to opt out of the free trials they push on you. This is now possible from within your online account I believe.

The connection is Vodafone broadband that they are reselling. Just different router and UK customer service.

With that said. A lot of people seem very unhappy with them at the moment. And I’ve heard someone else say they were trying to push their packages with router not included as standard and that it’s an optional extra. So even I would be a little hesitant from what people are saying now compared to when I was last with them. Especially right now with Black Friday getting into action I would expect there will be a decent amount of competition for other Openreach deals with a more trusted brand.

12 months for £36pcm is good too

I've been with Onestream for two years now.
Service has been very consistent and no reliability issues but it's actually provided by Vodafone in my local area. If Vodafone are no good then perhaps not the best option.

There has been a recent fly in the ointment, with regards to this...

Much like the Analogue TV service switch off back in 2012, UK residents are required to make a change to avoid interruption to their services.

What do I need to do?

The great news is that as a Onestream customer, there’s nothing that you need to do.

Back in 2020, we made the decision to invest in the new technology to future proof our new and existing customers.

We’ve identified your account as eligible for a FREE upgrade to a Digital broadband service. This means that your services will be upgraded, future proofing you from the PSTN switch off. No action is required and the devices on your WiFi will continue to work without any interruption.

The "free upgrade" means I now have no phone service, in my package at all.

I'd assumed that I would plug my phone into the router and I'd have phone service but they say that I need to subscribe to a voice service....

I spoke to CS about this and it was an underwhelming experience.

I've also raised a support ticket and we'll see where that goes.

I'd recommend opting out of the digital upgrade as it's actually a DOWNGRADE. (edited)

You can’t opt out of the upgrade for long. It’s going to be done by force. The copper analog voice network is being shut down so it’s broadband only. If you want to keep using a landline it’s VoIP only - And to get VoIP you need to take out a voice service with them (or someone else - I’m with A&A for £1.44 a month line rental and pay as you go calls at 1.5p per minute.

If you are using the same VR1210v router they have been handing out for some time now then you can configure this router to work with other companies VoIP services so you’re not tied to what Onestream want to charge for.
