    Sonos fanbois thinking £1.8k for an equivalent system is a bargain

    It's still 2x Samsung flagships! (Worse when cashback was available)

    Sonos has questionable sound quality and features too. You are paying for the Sonos system where you can do multi room wireless. Sonos unfortunately is the apple of the soundbar and multi room speaker world.

    Samsung is also actually Harmon Kardon. They bought them out 4 years ago which is why all of a sudden their soundbars are the best

    Awesome soundbar.

    The 990 and 930 are both good but the 990 is better. I have both and the sub and additional speakers do make a difference so if you can afford the extra then go for the 990.

    I think the problem is that the 930 was £300-400, when this one is at least double that price. (edited)

    I know little about these, if I didn’t care too much for rears, would I look for Q800? Also do any of their sets come in white?

    In white, you can get the s801b model. Which is a thinner, space saver model compared with the q models. And cheaper, too, but still decent.
    If you want a q model no rears, the 800 model is your best bet. Close enough to the 930 model. At a push, the q700 model too, but don't go below.
    However, IMO a Dolby Atmos soundbar is not complete without rears. I had the q700a no rears, and I was not impressed. I added the rears, and it sounded much better (edited)

    When the soundbar costs more than the TV it's designed to enhance, it's like a GPU that costs more than the rest of the PC put together.

    Not really. Like GPU's there are soundbars for all grades of TV. This is the top spec Samsung soundbar for 2023. Equivalent TV"'s run into the thousands when aiming for flagship models. Plenty of cheap soundbars around that will improve the sound of most flatscreen Tv's - doubt people would be paying over a grand for sound if they'd bought a cheap Polaroid TV from Asda. But maybe they do? (edited)

    You do realise that this is part of Samsung £300 cashback promotion if purchased from a qualified retailer?

    Edit - it seems the cashback promotion ended. Still cheaper from Total Digital, or directly from this seller. It's hard to believe those who wanted it didn't make the purchase up until 3 days ago, when the cashback was available. Or before the cashback, when it was cheaper. May also get cheaper on boxing day. Not the right time to buy now, IMO. (edited)
