The Uber credits can be used for Uber taxis, Uber Eats or most importantly for future train tickets.

I plan to book lots of train trips now for Summer, up to 17th August 2023 travel, because of this offer to see family, friends, weekends away and aim to save over £100 by reinvesting my Uber Credits into further reductions in other train fares - though note it can take upto 10 days to be credited to your account after your train journey completes.

Offer valid for users who have an Uber account, and make a booking on Uber Travel, between the 8th of June to July 20th with travel taking place between the 8th of June to 17th of August. Anyone know if you still get the cashback if you pay for a train ticket using the credit you earned from previous trips?

The T&Cs only mention the "booking value" and don't specify method of payment. I've reused about £100 of credits awarded from this to book more train tickets and it keeps giving me more credits back. I haven't checked the exact value, since I use it for my daily commute and they tend to award credits for multiple journeys in one go without telling you which ones they are rewarding, but it seems like it works for credit.

To clarify: using Uber Travel option in the Uber app to buy train & coach tickets gives 10% Uber Credit by default, but by joining the Uber One service you get this boosted to 20% as part of this promotion for Uber One.

Just checked one of my normal journeys and its £45.15 on Uber vs £37.24 for the same return on Trainline so with the credit back at 20% it works out about £1 odd cheaper on Uber

I did have this issue but refreshed and the prices reverted back to the regular price.

I have purchased a few tickets now and they match the normal prices.

I've gotten in touch using the email support and even they don't know why it's 10% rather than 20%... they've escalated it now.

they should make this a permanent bonus for uber one - would make it a lot more enticing to pay for
    John_Meddings's avatar
I'm presuming (possibly wrongly) that the 10% bonus remains after promotional 20%

Doesn’t look like Uber do the Split Ticket like Trainline automatically does

My Uber one was showing 10% discount.
Went ahead and booked as it’s still a good saving and just had 20% credit drop into my account despite publishing 10% everywhere on my app.

Great deal thank you very much for sharing!

Uber travel runs off Omio, last time i used it, didn’t provide support for Apple Wallet and sent the e-ticket in an email.

The whole Uber book your train ticket platform is somewhat basic - however for 20% Uber credit I can live with that 😃 (edited)

For Uber, the user interface is disappointingly clunky and difficult to use. Could really do with making it more seamless. Anyway this is a really good offer!

This initially looks like a great offer, but it's really worth noting that it does *not* cover all train tickets.

The Uber Travel interface for train tickets (which I understand is powered by Omio) is really clunky and very limited, and only seems to present Advance tickets (i.e. those *only* valid on specified timed trains) for journeys where Advance tickets are available.

This means that it might show Advance tickets that cost the same or even more than (semi-)flexible open tickets which are valid on many trains (the time windows for off-peak train ticket validities varies by the journey being taken).

By all means use Uber Travel to take advantage of the cashback, but do so having checked the fares elsewhere and with the awareness that it's really designed around pushing Advance tickets. (edited)

I've used it several times for off peak tickers + London travel card

Mines showing 10% as well.. will give them a ring tomorrow
    Sailorpete's avatar
Called the number but they are just an intermediary with Uber who you cannot speak to directly and they can only say they will raise it with them and nothing more
  12. Sailorpete's avatar
Anyone managed to get clarity on this? Ive had nothing back from Uber
    Chobotfan's avatar
I got both the 10% and 20% cashback! I think you just have to wait... (edited)

still waiting on cashback for trips over 10d ago, called them in the meantime and they confirmed that I should get 20%. I have called Uber who transferred me to Omio who confirmed 20% cashback, however they have no idea how long it can take to land in my wallet (as Uber directly deals with that). Has anyone had any similar experiences with delayed cashback?
    russt93's avatar
Speaking based on a previous trip, you get the Cashback a few days after you have completed the journey (e.g. after the inbound journey for a return ticket)

My train tickets bought on Trainline app cost me £64 a month, so I can reclaim £12.80 back as Uber credit?!

Can I combine with this offer hotukdeals.com/dea…541 ? (edited)
    calmac3105's avatar
    Author
Yes going forward you will get credit on those tickets you normally buy from Trainline as long as you buy train tickets directly through the Uber app instead.
You can combine your train tickets with railcards to get the additional discount but can’t buy railcards themselves through the Uber app.

Cheers will use this for my commute, should save a few quid then

To see the promotion - goto your Uber app and click on Account. The Uber One promotion should be listed there.

Please do. Will be interesting to hear if everyone else can get the 20% credit promotion. Doesn’t mention anything about being a new customer or specially selected accounts.

See the screenshots I took. And maybe give Uber One a buzz on 0800 066 8528 to ask if you are going to get 10% or 20%. Let us know how you get on.

I think it's wild how many people on a website called HotUKDeals use trainline and pay a booking fee for no reason
    Super7's avatar
I use trainline, what booking fee?
£2 peak-time single adult ticket isn't bad for me

Would be a good deal if it worked on open returns! Omio (which this runs on) has the most basic interface and very limited options.

Wonder if you need to have uber one still active by the time the credit is given or can It be lapsed
    pluk's avatar
I asked the Omio team and they think you would still get the 20% based on the date of booking rather than the date of travel/credit. Although it sounds like the credit happens on ubers end rather than omio. Did you figure it out ?
