Could I trade in a Google Pixel 4a which doesn't turn on for the £100 does anyone know?
    S.Sherwan's avatar
When you put the trade in claim, put it down as a non working phone. I have always selected all the worst things that could happen to a phone. Buttons not working, screen broken etc. Have sent them phones with no back, no battery and even a phone with battery connectors ripped away. Always got the trade in amount.

I've done it for the S23+ now. Got confirmation from samsung. Email clearly says "Faulty".

The trade in website is a piece of garbage, I'm not hopeful of ever getting the cashback (in addition to Top Cashback also not tracking from Mobile Phones direct...)

Wouldn't recognise the IMEI of my new 23+, emailed them, they did something and it now recognises it. Now I can't get it to accept the IMEI of the phone I'm trading in (Honor Play). Suspect it's going to end up being not "any working phone" but "any working phone from this arbitrary list we didn't reveal".

    How does this work?

If I buy from AO, where do I do the trade in?
    des147's avatar
Make your purchase from AO once your new phone arrives visit the AO trade in link from the list of participating retailers posted by MrSwitch at the top of this page you be taken to a registration interface where you input your new phones IMEI your AO order number date of purchase and screen shot of your AO invoice you then be asked what phone you are trading in, if not on list select the any android phone then enter your trade in phones IME. You then fill in your address so a prepaid Royal Mail 48 tracked returns bag can be sent. Your asked for bank details so a debt cash transfer can be made to you once the traded in phone arrives with them.

One thing to note I like many others had to email the support team contact form samsungtradeinoffer.co.uk/sup…ort which is also listed top of this post as the trade in form would not except my new phones IMEI, this support form asks for your order number and don't forget to include your new purchase IMEI number they are prompt and reply within 24 hrs to inform you there system will now except your IMEI.

My returns bag arrived next day Wed posted same day with trade in phone and currently my tracking states its reached the recycle firms local Royal Mail depo in Harlow Essex. They promise to make payment same day they process trade in device. (edited)

I feel completely ripped off. I sent back a faulty phone, ticked all the boxes to show it wasn't working, but it was rejected as Samsung can't find its IMEI. I never saw any reference to the IMEI being necessary? And when I try to contact them on their form it says my message is in the wrong format, but doesn't say how it's wrong. And the live chat button doesn't work. So obviously intended to make them uncontactable

    Hello buddy,
send email to the support email of the promo.
    Samsung Trade-In <samsung@tradeinresponse.co.uk>
They should help you. Maybe you need to create again a return with a Label, etc and send another phone.
My Imei did not appear as Validated in the website, so I contacted them through email and in less than 24 hours they made it Validated so I could start the return process. (edited)

Im struggling to verify my new S23 phones IMEI I use the above AO link it asks for IMEI/Serial ..ive tried inputting IMEI slot 1 and the alternative slot 2 both report back Im"Sorry, the code you entered is not valid for this promotion even inputting the serial number reports same message it seems to be alot of the issue reported online a quick email the support contact saw a reply stating it was now active and my trade in process then accepted IMEI...my trade in phone wasnt listed but selected the any Android phone option and states £150 trade in value, my trade in prepaid returns pack is on route to me. S22 or the pixel 7? Is the s22 5g? (edited)
    BILL517's avatar
    Yes S22 is 5G

    Depends to be fair..

Samsung has better hardware than Pixel ,

pixel has stock andriod so their andriod software is better than samsung because its technically a Google phone 📲 Google owns andriod

Pretty confused by this on the S22 from Mobile Phones direct. Their cheapest per month deal on three is £29 p/m with £99 upfront. Am I missing something?

I just received a £10 credit price match from AO as they matched Laptops Direct £989 S23 ultra price and I had used Quidco to gain an extra £7 cash back so if all goes well my S23 ultra cost £832 which when you consider many retailers are still priced at £1249 Ive saved a humonguss £417 so I'm as happy as a mutt with 2 erm bones, Thanks Mr switch. Just purchased the S23 Ultra Graphite 512GB directly from Samsung Business as they have 10% off - so priced in at £1259.10 (£1399 otherwise), and then with Quidco cashback got a further £62.95 tracked (5%) so essentially £1200 total. AND it's the online exclusive Graphite colour.

I have an old Razer Phone 1 kicking around - no idea of it's value. I was assuming trade-in on it would be peanuts so didn't bother through Samsung. But seeing this now on HUKD, not sure if it's worth getting the phone from another retailer now - AO have the Black one for £1099 so if I'm assuming right could I get £150 from trading this Razer phone in?
    des147's avatar
erosion85 if your Razer is Android it will be accepted when buying from the participating promotion retailers.
  16. erosion85's avatar
Brill - just pulled the trigger on the 512GB Phantom Black from AO @ £1099. Cashback will work from the looks of this! Itching to get my hands on this phone and set it up - it hurts moreso that I have the Graphite one sat here next to me sealed. Not going to break the seal so the returns check will be nice and simple for Samsung once I send it back! Been dying for this handset!
    des147's avatar
Guess you pulled the trigger to fast buying from Samsung business lol oh well least the seal isn't broke and you can return. Don't forget to fill AO price match claim form and bring there attention to laptops direct £989 price and get your £10 refunded I'm over the moon at the price I've paid for my S23 ultra (edited)

I have a lot of apps and stuff linked to my iPhone is it hard swapping everything over and what about my photos?
    erosion85's avatar
If you're tied in with the Apple ecosystem there's no black-and-white answer as to whether it's hard - transition will be fiddly without a doubt (can almost become a full-day job and that can even be the case with Android to Android) but it's possible with some patience and online reading. May be a bit of a culture shock though.

Frustrating that the best deal I can find for a S23 Ultra is with O2 (my current network) at £60/mth for unlimited data and 512gb. However O2 won't offer me the same deal. Anyone have a similar deal or experience with keeping same number whilst taking out new contract (I think I can switch to a PAYG then swap back)?

Anyone bought the s23 from AO? Some of the reviewers say it’s an imported model…surely not?!
    Nathan_Wilsonu's avatar
I did. I wouldn't know what to look for as to whether it's imported but I've had no issues with it so far.
  20. des147's avatar
I'm not sure where your getting the info to two trade in quotes ?? if selecting your s21 from list and your quoted £340 from the trade in company that's what you get you won't get a further £150...the £150 is set amount for devices not listed and opting to click any android phone....

My moto G9 plus wasn't on list to click so selected any android phone option...in theory I could quickly bought a old old android 4 8 yr old device £15 off ebay traded that In for my £150 then sold my Moto G9 plus for going rate of around £120-£150 however I just sent my Moto G9 plus to trade in as I could not be bothered about selling then getting comebacks on the 11 hrs continuous use on light apps down from 18 hrs from new.

The reason I opted for 256 8gig variant I thought long and hard as it only £90 more for 512 12 gig was all my previous phones last 7 yr had 128 storage an only ever filled 30% I do not keep tunes movies pictures ect on phone if anything I store cloud based..besides my dog walking shoes have developed a hole winter is coming and I decided to use the £90 on a decent pair of waterproof walking shoes. Does anyone know when this finishes?

I recently bought the S23 from AO and sent an old phone to Samsung for the £100 cash back. They have rejected it today as the Google account is locked on that old phone (even though I reset it). Does anyone know whether I can send the phone back if I can work out how to unlock the Google account? Or has my chance gone?
  23. bigpappa69's avatar
This deal is bulls$#@. Had a phone and £100 trade in rejected, and was then told phones have to meet the following criteria:
Not this time: I put down all the faults possible, was offered the minimum £100 (bought S23), phone was rejected, and I was told all phones had to meet the following criteria:

    - It must power on/up and hold charge
    - It must be fully functional and must have no software or hardware faults
    - It must only have normal wear and tear - there must be no damage or blemishes to screen/LCD and the casing around the device including the camera lens must not be cracked. No level of liquid damage is acceptable.
    - It must have a fully functioning display and have no cracked screen
    - It must have no signs of screen burn, ghost imaging, discolouration, coloured hues or image retention
    - It must not be blacklisted - each device must be eligible to pass all lost/stolen registers
    - It must be factory reset and have no software locks - the device must have any personal account locks removed and the device must be reset to remove personal data, all devices must have their iCloud or Google accounts removed or custom MDM accounts removed.
    - It must not be PIN locked and must not have an have ‘Activation Lock’ or 'iCloud Lock' activated
    - It must include its battery within the casing and must not have any missing parts
    - It must not be crushed, bent in half or liquid-damaged
    - It must not be “jail-broken” or “Knox warranty void” and the firmware must not have been altered
    - It must be original and meet the manufacturer’s original EU specifications (and is not personalised with any custom engraving). For example, the entire colour of the device must match the original manufacturer’s specification.

Interesting...I just sent away a phone with a cracked screen today. I did mention that in the condition and it came up "faulty" with £100 valuation still. Will see what happens...
