This is not such a good deal as it appears. In the fine print it states that the price will increase by 4.5% each month, which means that by the end of the 24 month contract, you will be paying almost £20 per month. That's a 400% increase from the original price...

Terms are shown below for reference:

Please ignore this comment, it is WRONG!

I am only leaving it up to embarrass myself so that I learn to read things properly before making a comment, as we all should!

It says each April it will rise, not monthly....

Except this post decided to show the price exclusive of VAT. Every price is exclusive of VAT if you’re a VAT registered business, so should all deals on HUKD show prices without VAT? (edited)

Hi can i use as a mobile wifi please?

Yes that’s what I’m using - as main Broadband. Used it for a number of years with avg speed of 40+mbps. No issues (edited)

    Misleading description....

    Needs changing...

    This does NOT INCLUDING ROAMING..

Roaming is extra... it is not free...

The description says 'includes roaming', and I think most people reading that will think it means free .. it is not!!!
    pokemon2's avatar
roaming for three has stopped .
it is funny english, they said it is free, but it is paid, but you once you paid it is unlimited lol so free in that sense.

Anyone on this right now? How is the 5G speed? Do they throttle the speed or cap the usage? Thanks in advance.
    aca03mk's avatar
    Author
I have used Three unlimited sim previously and they dont throttle speed / fair usage policy / caps. If you go over 1000 TB a month then they will call to check that it is genuinely you but Im hardly going over 700GB / month at best so its kinda way out. Worth checking the coverage checker in your area as that would be a key consern as Three has good coverage in some areas but pretty bad in others.

If you ask a call back from their sales then their sales team will confirm no limits on the plan as it is expected to be used concurrently by up to 64 users in an office which includes multiple zoom and teams calls concurrently. (edited)

For those who excitedly, hurriedly skip reading OP's description
"Plan charges are exclusive of VAT at 20%"

So its £6 per month instead of £5. Still good (edited)

I just spoke with Three and they confirmed that this has 14 days cooling off so if you dont find service acceptable then full refund if the first 14 days. Also post this period if the service becomes an issue and they cannot resolve it then they will do a free cancellation.

plan includes £5.00 discount for paying by DD - so the plan is actually £10.00 plus VAT - so I assume the 4.5% yearly increase will be on the £10.00 plus VAT not the £5 - just thinking
    aca03mk's avatar
    Author
Three said increase will be on the £5 only not on £10 as the deal is direct Three. It does seem to be worded online as if the yearly increase is on £10 as opposed to merely £5. Even with the increases - I havent seen any other deals (Lebara etc) which fall below £10 per month on a 3/6 month introductory offer- so at almost half the price without the hassle.

If you dont own a business can you sign up? (edited)
    sureshot's avatar
Not sure, in most cases yes, as you could say you’re a sole trader etc, but be aware that the price is before VAT, and business terms are normally not the same as consumer terms, so always read them carefully. Business terms may also have their advantages over consumer terms as well.
  10. giblets693ee45's avatar
Found it, I assume this is just data .
    ydoow's avatar
Was thinking the same. Also, three do restrict download speed via their fair use policy, so be aware of that.

50982823-H6nJL.jpgYou should mention this is a data sim, you will have to have a new sim and a new number if your current sim is a voice sim
This thread is very misleading and it is not from a business user and did not check the full facts to tell all. lucky in UK, there is a cooling period. (edited)
    Dinger42's avatar
Unfair, it has always been clearly listed as a data only business sim deal. Retention of number is not an issue for what it gets used for, just stick in router and go for business WiFi usage, the number is of no consequence as no one will be calling it.

I have unlimited roaming/data on my current plan that's expiring at the end of the month for £10.92. Rather keep that than pay for roaming charges
    DarrylJohn's avatar
I believe I was on a similar plan, ended 6 days ago.

Fine for UK, but roaming isn't free once the initial contract is up.

I've told this place before business don't increase cpi. I have this plan for £3 since 2022. There's no increases. I'm pay 12 for unlimited data mins text and £3 extra for the unlimited data sim. Contract ends in Feb 2024. There's been no increase I pay £15 every month. And they said I can continue same plan price after feb
    jd121's avatar
I'm on the same 3 pound deal. Did customer service say you can carry on at the same price once the 2 years are up?
  16. medical154's avatar
I have this from the last time it was posted. No complaints other than they did a hard check on my credit file, which seems excessive for a £6 per month contract, particularly as they didn't do the same for my more expensive mobile contact.
  17. bigjeremy's avatar
Been running a Limited company for 25+ years yet three still want to see 3 months of bank statements,a copy of my registration details and a copy of my passport plus proof of my company address, not sure why ?
    Onlydongles's avatar
Because the computer says so ! Happened to me and I refused. They even wanted a mugshot of me ( a la Trump), holding up my photo ID cards, and also bank statements etc.

I am already a Three customer for the £3 deal in 2022, yet they want to do a hard credit check with all supporting documents.

Its a mad mad world at Three towers and seems management has no clue whats going on about such deals.

I took out 3 sims approx 2 years ago for £3 each, absolutely ridiculous speeds usually below 8mbps. I use 2 Huawei Plus MiFi hotspots (vehicles) and one in a gigacube (caravan) and the same results only a couple of months left on contract I won't be renewing doesn't matter how cheap they are if they're rubbish service.... possible good for a business use tablet for data however don't expect to stream anything on them (edited)
    jd121's avatar
Depends on location as with any network. Getting 5g speeds around 200mbs on my phone. Never had a complaint with speeds and I'm in West Yorkshire. Data speeds are amazing but voice calls are atrocious

Since signing up to this deal more than a month ago this is what we're getting, so it seems Three have got the same message for our area since, at least, the pandemic. Upload more than Download and not exceeding 10mb

I have had a Three unlimited everything sim for the past two years and i probably do a speed check every week or two and i have been getting the same speeds as you. 3G got me 8 Mbps average but they closed that down and now i'm stuck with slower 4G speeds. I guess it all depends on your area and if you get good speeds then it's worth keeping.

For the benefit of the community:

Clarity & guidance - for those that are NOT business owners, would be most appreciated.

How can we sign up for this deal?

Can you please map it out for us?

This would help many of us here.

My thanks to any willing to contribute.

Moot question. IMHO, people should not sign up unless they are genuinely in business.
  24. Gary_C123's avatar
Also doesn't include roaming if you read the terms
  25. manishpatel80's avatar
I have moved away from Three because they got rid of free roaming. I'm now with O2 and paid £8 per month for 60gb data, which is now 120gb data as we also have virgin media at home. Plus we get roaming for Europe and USA, Canada and a number of other countries for free.
    plane_boy2000's avatar
I moved from three to o2. Will be moving again as o2 is just so slow, no matter where I am it's slow and hardly ever get 5g
  26. Jon_Red's avatar
For anyone wondering, no you can’t use it in a router if you live with other people. Unfortunately they won’t give out home broadband for £5p/m for 2 years. However, you can use it in a router if you live alone!

Edit: Multiple people have apparently reported being able to use it in a router at once, so it seems this term doesn’t apply! Happy days  (edited)

Put it in a dual sim phone to use unlimited data and keep your existing number with Lebara/Lyca and pay in pence just for unlimited calls text.
    taiko.786's avatar
once your lebara 3 months special offer finishes , can you just make it payg and use this sim for data ?
  31. Itssocheap's avatar
Obviously 3 makes a profit on this. Just shows how much we’re being ripped off.
    kane_th_gaming's avatar
I’m paying £17 per month for mine. But if I want to use it in Turkey it’s £3 per megabyte!;( wish there was a cheaper 5g one that can be used tgere

Just to put things straight on this thread.

The Consumer Rights Act doesn't apply to business contracts.
  33. egonspengler's avatar
Yes, you guys are right, my bad, it's a yearly increase, not monthly. Damn my eyes!

Anybody know any deals at Specsavers?

Sorry op, luckily, I hadn't actually voted on it yet, so I will add my heat to it and then I will put my phone down and do the 'walk of shame' away from it. (edited)

seems OK except I think there are extra charges for roaming. I went through sign up and it sends you a document package prior to finally committing, and I couldn't see any problems other than that. (edited)

It’s **** the difference 3 charge in £ between residential and business customers for broadband data services. Too late for me unfortunately as I signed up for a residential broadband plan with 3 as I was having trouble getting a working phone line installed into a rented flat owned by an estate agent.
In my case 3 price is still cheaper than Sky so it’s ok if not perfect. Not super fast (area dependent I know). (edited)
