Any company that requests your personal details just to check if its available in your area can jog on in my opinion.
    DJN2020's avatar
You can also check availability via the infrastructure provider, netomnia.

Does it go back to £27.99 after 24 months? Do they increase the price yearly, or is it locked for 24 months?
    wolf33055's avatar
    Locked for the 24 month

Had it for 14 months on an 18 month contract. No issues until this weekend and boom no streaming whatsoever. Constant phone calls to sort it out but no chance. The excuse was something about the migration over to ipv6 and blamed my devices. Absolute Bollicks. Nothing changed my end in 14 months. I’ll be off soon enough. The reason it’s reduced is because of the problematic company they are. My advice is stay away.

So you've had good service for 14 months, got a problem this weekend, so they are now a problematic company and people should stay away. OK

not sure how accurate it is, it says my address is not available for youfibre but quite a few my neighbors show in red circle.

I had YouFibre for 6 months (agreed when I took out the contract that when I moved if they couldn't supply me I could end the contract). I signed up for 500Mb at £23pm which was the deal then. I could have signed up to 10Gb (10,000Mb) for half price so £125pm instead of £250pm but there was absolutely no point as my LAN couldn't cope with that data speed. YouFibre now offer 8Gb (8,000Mb) instead of 10Gb for £99pm.

I had zero problems with YouFibre the only issue I had was with the supplied Eero (Amazon) wireless access point, a truly hateful networking device one where you can't even change the wifi channel! So I disconnected that and instead plugged in my WIFI6 D-Link router and used that instead. The engineer that was contracted to install the fibre connection (FTTP) was from Light Source and he lived round the corner from me, he said if it ever breaks and it will usually be OpenReach clowns who break something, then if you see my van is there just knock and I'll come over and fix it!

I would rate YouFibre as the best ISP I've had since 1994 and I've had many from U-Net, to O2, to Sky to EE and so on. I definitely recommend YouFibre if you can get it. If you have a local agent for your area then keep in touch with them as he/she will be the quickest point of contact to resolve any issues. (edited)

You should see the way these lot are installing the fibre. Makes Kelly's look like proper professionals in comparison. They are just chucking their fibre up without any consideration for what's already there, or the next guy for that matter.

I’m with Youfibre and can attest to the incredibly fast speeds. Service is also rock solid in terms of availability.

    Highly recommended.

I got referred by a friend so we both got £25. I signed up to their 500mb service, 24 months @ £10.99. downsides: their router only has one single ethernet port and additional routers are £7 extra / month
    jonnypb's avatar
They have 2 routers. They also have an Arris one which has 4 Ethernet ports and is better. You just have to ask the engineer for it at time of install. Only downside is that it’s quite a big bigger than the eero router.

Best provider ever. I have internet from them over 2 years. Never had problems. Down :940 Up :925

    It's a very good service.
No complaints and other people I know say the same.

Shame on you having to steal personal details to just see if I'm even eligible. (edited)

Bear in mind this is CGNAT so if you host for online gaming add £5 to this price. (edited)

I online game with this exact service, never had issues related to online gaming.

Just called them, my contract isn't due for renewal until March 2024. Asked if I could jump on the black Friday deal, no arguments, sorted within minutes.

So now on double the speed for £10 a month less.

    BINGO, thanks OP

What a scum company/website. Harvesting details prior to even confirming you can get the service. Even force you to sign up for their advertising in order to see if you can get their service.

wouldn’t use them even if they were free
    apulUK's avatar
That must be a recent thing. Wasnt like that before. Poor show.
I did just put a load of made up stuff in though and it worked fine.

Been with them a month or so, they even pay off an existing contract if you want to switch but still under contract (up to £300)

    Recommend them.

They have done me first 12 month for £1, next 12 months for £29.99. This was about 2-3 months ago.

All because I was locked in with Plusnet.

    Hero’s…!

10% off your first contract if they’re not yet available in your area. Quite a good incentive really.
    iceburnmarko's avatar
Wonder if one can use 10% on this

Currently paying £62 per mo th for 1.1 Gb from Virgin Media. Have no real choice atm but CityFibre just burried the purple pipes a couple of months ago so hopefully I can switch soon.
    CrazyPogo's avatar
I've gone from VM to Vodafone/city fibre. Paying less (29pm for 24m), and getting double the speed. Very happy.

Signed up to 500MBPS for £25.99 just 2 days ago so have sent a message and will be a little annoyed if they don’t give me this offer as I don’t go live until Dec 6th.
    apulUK's avatar
Yeah I'd say that's a few £ too much for 500. Is that over 24 months as well?
  19. Pasanda's avatar
They can't let me know whether I can get the service at home without my name, mobile and email Address.

    Pity, but I'm out.
    reddeviluk's avatar
Just enter false details?.... Then if you can then enter your actual details.

Had this a month or so. Only real issue I had is that the Arris router they supplied doesn't cover the whole house like the BT one used to so swapped it out out for 2 Eeros and seems fine now. Way cheaper than the £45 BT wanted.

YouFibre price match, I got them to price match with grain and I'm now paying £22.50 a month for You 1000.

Absolute bargain, I can only get city fibre which is 40 pm

Had this email myself this morning as an existing customer. Upgrade from 500 - £29.99 and it was switched before I finished work! Bit annoying as the internet randomly dropped, while on a call, and the fibre modem needs rebooting.

Been with these a couple of months. Can't fault it so far 900+ up and down

Signed up to YouFibre over two years ago and still waiting for them to set it up. Usual lie of “your street will be live by the end of next month” no matter what time you call them.

Wish they would be honest about why they’re not doing my area but they just won’t. Shame as people around me who have it rate it quite highly.
    apulUK's avatar
They don't get enough money from the government grant to dig up roads and install new lines. There are a few streets near me they haven't done yet as it would mean lots of road works or installing poles in the street, which it doesn't already have. The residents said they don't want poles and and lines so not going to happen. (To be honest I kinda agree with them)

Your best option is to get in touch with your councillor and MP as they might be able to put pressure on them to install underground.
  30. apulUK's avatar
If you can get it, get it.
Solid connection, with the speed you paid for all the time.
Good customer service. I had one unplanned outage on new years eve, it sorted itself eventually. i left them a message to complain and they called back, apologised and gave me a free upgrade.

I've just signed up with them, not gone live yet. Saw they dropped the price by a few quid for BF, went on chat and they gave me the lower price straight away. I also asked what router they are providing when they install and they said the Eero6+
    Can't wait.
    RoivaZ's avatar
We went live on Thursday with You1000 and I contacted them this morning over the phone and they have applied the BF price - very happy it was simple and they have credited £3 for the already-generated first invoice @ 27.99

On install i queried the engineer on the routers so I took the Arris because I already have google/Nest wifi and didn't want an Eero...just FYI, if you are thinking of keeping their provided router in situ, the Arris has 4x ethernet ports for additional wired devices. Obviously you can use an ethernet switch with the Eero but it might sway you.

Also you can push for an Eero 6 Pro if the engineer has any, over the 6+

So far so good with speeds!

Well that's just grand for those who can get it. Meanwhile, I'm been waiting for nearly 15 years in a part of south London that hasn't been fibered-up (FTTP)...
    Bryzill's avatar
That can't be right surely? Check Virgin media who run different cables than openreach (bt and sky) and also city fibre I believe have their own.
  33. ugan's avatar
Thanks went for this. Was on talktalk 500 and that was £35 a month.

I've had Youfibre for 2 months and having issues with my playstation as when I do the test connection it has no near what my eero app speed test check says it's performing at. This morning the test connection said 34mb but eero speed test said 946mb. The playstation is in the same room as the router.
    reddeviluk's avatar
Is it connected via WiFi or ethernet? Only reason I ask is I have Google WiFi throughout, everything connects super fast (including 2 Xbox and batteries other games consoles) but my old PS4 is so slow it's a joke. I read up on it at the time and found that some devices had a rubbish WiFi chip. Not sure if yours is a 4 or 5, but if it's a 4, this could be it.

I have the 1gb and the eero mesh and I recommend it, no issues been with them over 2 yrs now.

my contract is up with vermin media in jan so decided to go with these, half the price for twice the speed and no in contract price hikes, are you reading vermin media
  38. George-Podge's avatar
Been with them nearly 4 years now. No increases in price at the end of each year. Have had loads of discounts as well as once I joined got friends & family signed up for a free months subs. Had over a years free subs as a result.
Also look out for offers when contract is nearly ending as they will put you on the new rates.
They have also done offers to buy you out of current contract so give them a try......
  39. mark6220's avatar
I'm in a rural area and some you chap tried selling me the 1gb thing.
I'm with BT. He told me they would buy out my contract pay all fees and undercut bt prices massively.
There's such thing as a free lunch. You are desperate to lure customers to them.
Something has to give. That will be customer service at the very least.
I told him I didn't need such high speeds and that was very content with bt.
I've always had brilliant service. Any issues have always been fixed very quickly.
BT are also brilliant at dealing with vulnerable customers when their service goes wrong.
You get what you pay for.
Cheapest prices always come at a cost.
I'm very content with BT. (edited)
    DJN2020's avatar
I was always happy with BT. Happy with everything except the price. Youfibre's product is cheaper and better. I hate to say it, but loyalty to companies is usually to the detriment of the customer.

It's ridiculous in the 21st century and I have no fibre at all in my area one mile from Heathrow (SL3).
