do you know of any other cheap routes? The one you have suggested isn’t working for the family and friends card. Think it may have something to do with the rail replacement service. Thank you for any help

Stourbridge town to Stourbridge junction. If you buy a child ticket it is like 70p. Dunno if this helps
  2. rbz5416's avatar
Maybe worth a reminder that most Railcards are available with £15 of Tesco vouchers.

No ticket purchase necessary & you have a while to actually use the code that's generated. Was a year but may have changed. (edited)

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that mean your Railcard will have cost you £1500?
  3. Yolofknell's avatar
Price is £19.80 for me. (edited)

You need to sign up as a new customer and then skip the first deal that comes up and go to specific black Friday deals and it should list at £15.

I have not been required to buy a ticket as well it just says my Railcard will be issued on X a week's time that I chose. Are you sure you have to buy a ticket as well op?
  4. BargainHunta96's avatar
Never got what this is. So if I buy a single journey that usually costs £2.90 how much will it be discounted by? And what about the tickets that cost £5.20. With a railcard would on/off peak no longer matter? I thought it was a yearly pass but ofc that was too good to be true.
    dutch090163's avatar
You get the rail ticket with 30% off after purchasing the railcard. Depends how often use use rail and ticket prices if it’s worth it. You can save more than £15 in one trip!! Off peak still works.
  5. CarloRivera's avatar
If I get a Network Railcard with this does anyone know if it'll give me discounts on solo trips London - Edinburgh?
    mutley1's avatar
My husband looked at train ticket from London to Newcastle with the network railcard, and it does give a discount for part of the journey I think.
  6. Blossom41's avatar
    Thanks for posting.
Does anyone know if you get the card instantly?
I'm travelling by train later today so wondering if I can use it for todays journey?
    AdamRiyadh's avatar
    Yes
  7. m1kehunt's avatar
So can you book the absolute cheapest ticket you can find to activate offer or is there a mjnimum spend?
    JasmineKnowles's avatar
£13 to use the card but any price to activate.. I think 👀 (edited)
  8. ShereKhan77's avatar
Got the Network Railcard (thanks!). Trying to activate it but the Lichfield route costs 1.04 (with 5% extra discount) and the Stourbridge one 1.33. I know the difference is just 34p, just trying to understand if I'm doing anything wrong as they are not 70p.

The website states that the Network Railcard is for travellers in the South East of England.

Quote from the website for the Network Railcard

For up to 4 adults and 4 children aged 5-15,For travellers in the South-East Network Railcard zone.

I don't know what happens if you try to use it outside of that area..
  9. W_Cooper's avatar
My current railcard expires soon on the 9th Dec does anyone know if this will this commence from when your current one expires?

Recently received a renewal email but they are offering £30 which is a bit stupid when these 3rd parties offer less. (edited)
    t3r4's avatar
On Trip there is an option to set a start date in the future when you go to buy your Railcard, so just set it the day after your current one expires. Remember you might still need to buy a ticket on the Trip app to get it to activate. (edited)
  10. thebestrc's avatar
50% discount = £15 is "Sold Out" apparently with only the 34% discount £19.80 left on offer
  11. herrbz's avatar
I'd rather just use the 30% discount on Trainline and save the faff.
    alared's avatar
Agree, at least the Trainline works and is instantly in your app.
  12. Eldi's avatar
Can anyone over 31 get one?
    tonyawesome69's avatar
    Potentially yes.

Fill in the details at the bottom of the link below to see which Railcard you are eligible for and select the railcard for more details.

If you’re 36, single, and live in the north, there’s nothing for you here 😔

If you're rich in the south east we'll give you a discount to get into London.
  14. Swidc's avatar
Purchased. This is the third website I use to get a Railcard (last year TrainPal, year before Trainline). It is utterly ridiculous that these offers are not provided by network rail directly, which is where I used to buy my railcards years ago.
Half the price, the merchant takes the money to Hong Kong according to the receipt... Nice!
  15. jamesconner3's avatar
Does the train ticket (required to active it) have to be purchased via Trip.com or can be done via any webiste? e.g. Trainline, National Rail etc?
  16. jpower85's avatar
Good deal, Network railcard has saved me loads over the years, I’m just a casual commuter to London for days out etc and after 2 return trips using the Network railcard it’s already paid for itself, well worth it
  17. dan275's avatar
I can't tell if this is a good deal for travelling from London to brighton on a weekend or not. I'm thinking it must be right?
    tonyawesome69's avatar
Yes, have a look at the details for Network Railcard.

Another railcard post that makes my brain go "you're old, yes you're old, and can't get a railcard. Yes you are actually way over thirty even though you think you are 28. Yes, old grippa."

For some reason for brits, the railcard is the yardstick of ageing. LOL. (edited)
    003hungryboys's avatar
Except you can get a network railcard if you travel to the south east… (edited)
  19. WhyteRhyno's avatar
Love this yearly offer. The Trip app is a user experience shocker but £15 for a railcard, in which I would save that much on a single trip, is worth the minor inconvenience of using the app. Thanks for posting! (edited)
  20. JasmineKnowles's avatar
Thanks! Just got mine and saved £20 on my train ride next week
    tommytbone1's avatar
Just checking that you could buy, activate and use the Railcard for a discounted train ticket on the same day? I'm traveling this weekend so would like to use it asap. Thanks!
  21. asianlemon's avatar
Just purchased mine for £15. Logged into the Trip.com app (android) and the railcard has been loaded into my account - it says it's valid from today but I haven't purchased a train ticket yet.

Anyone know if there is any way to delay the start date? My current railcard expires on 20th December, so was going to wait the full month before activating this Trip.com one...
  22. qwertybobby's avatar
Saw this posted last week, Friday I think, then it mysteriously disappeared. Good deal.
  23. Wolfout's avatar
I think I’m doing something wrong, when I go to book the ticket to activate it says no railcard even though on the previous page it has the railcard picked.
can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thank you
    smilespiles's avatar
Same here ! How did you get on ?
  24. nickyd186's avatar
    Worked great thanks

Anyone succeed without the app? I'm getting photo upload failed no matter how I try on desktop, mobile browser, choosing from file, choosing take a photo
    qwertybobby's avatar
I managed to order. Simply used an old pic that I had against a black background. Didn't quite fit the outline provided, but they accepted it.

Scam took multiple payments and didn't work
  27. dans88's avatar
After you buy your first train ticket are you always restricted to buy future tickets via trip? Or can I use the railcard to get tickets from other train ticket retailers?
    dom09's avatar
no need to buy via trip
  28. dom09's avatar
From my experience, if you have already bought something from trip (e.g. fly tickets), the railcard will activate automatically after purchase.
    xpeeya's avatar
Can’t remember using Trip.com but i’ve used Trainpal in the past (i think they’re the same company?) and mine activated straight away too so didn’t need to purchase a train ticket!
  29. HK47's avatar
can i buy today for a starting date in january? (edited)
    markybutt23's avatar
You have 30days to activate it apparently but I’m guessing the date you bought is the date the start date of the railcard.
  30. markybutt23's avatar
got the network card but need to make a trip before its activated
    mutley1's avatar
I was lucky when I bought my railcard on a previous offer at I didn't need to buy any ticket to activate the rail card. (edited)
  31. PaulValea's avatar
Same tickets are £25 on trip.com and £18 on Trainline
    s10's avatar
Can you give the journey details? That doesn't seem right.
Except for split tickets (and booking fees which trip do not change on mobile), tickets *should* cost the same across all sites that are national rail accredited

Just to make people in Scotland aware that maybe aren't, that there are Scotrail rail cards with various generous offers. I just bought the over 50s one that gives a flat rate price of £17 anywhere in Scotland on occasion, 50% off food and drink and 20% off all non peaktine fares (peak times have stopped right now so that's all times at the moment).

Does this work with travel cards? (to London Paddington then The Tube?) (edited)

If you use the train just 2 or 3 times a year then this is a must have. I've saved £20 per non rushour journey, I'm about to save £30 on my next journey. The Trip app is a little fiddly but worth it.

Even worth it at £20 / year (edited)
  38. doesitmatter's avatar
Anyone knows how much for 3 years? No easy way to find using link on this deal
  39. swhizzle's avatar
I bought the Network Railcard and all seems fine (it gets applied to the trips). However, when I try to register it on railcard.co.uk it says the number does not exist? I'll try again tomorrow. Would like to be able to use it without trip.com.
    creamcrappers's avatar
The Railcard only works within the app (you can't export it to the Railcard app, for example) so you will need to keep the trip.com app installed for inspection on any journeys you make. You are free to purchase tickets through other retailers.
