I had the 8 Pro, it was an absolutely fantastic phone, only let down by the fact that on cellular, it couldn't keep a data connection and the calls would fail no matter the network. Then trying to get it fixed took almost three months until they eventually gave a refund for what they eventually admitted was a faulty phone. This was after blaming me, EE, Three, O2, my broadband providor for some reason and even the OTA updates they gave.

Red Magic / ZTE support is some of the most incompetent, pathetic and frustratingly slow service on the planet. The best part is when they wanted diagnostics, they gave me a list of things to do, I told them the options were not there. They had the brass balls to tell me I was looking in the wrong section, when I pointed out they asked me to go to the section of the phone I was in, they said I "can not understand". 113 emails to resolve the issue.

Maybe I was unlucky, but never again.

I'm assuming as this has a Chinese rom, android auto won't work?

Didn't on the two Chinese version smartphones I've used recently, so I'd assume this will be the same

Still not a fan of phones where the retailer has monkeyed with the SW. Certainly not at this money. Sorry Switchy.

you can do yourself this doesnt take long, just reset the phone to factory standard then install all by yourself if you don't trust the seller, thats what i would do everything looks very nice and great but that phone would be too square for me and not a fan of ZTE software and support - my last ZTE Geek phone intel based still works but that hasn't got any updates in its lifetime maybe things changed since then and would consider this one if i was in the market for one

Thanks Switchy, this indeed is going to be a super fast phone.

I was going to wait for the UK pricing for this bad boy at uk.redmagic.gg IE to get UK warranty although the UK shop delivered the RM8 with a 2Pin plug.😨

Yh got delivered the 2pin plug with a 3 pin adapter. Though not bothered as I have a 100w anker plug which charges ultra fast (edited)

Phones are getting bigger and heavier. I wonder what the long term effects would be on the fingers and wrist.

I have the 8s pro and the front camera is wonderful after the last update month ago. I have had no issues with Camera, very fast processor, smooth game play, long battery life
  8. TuShae's avatar
Is the front camera still rubbish?
    one_eight_seven's avatar
Same sensor as the one in the Redmi Note 11 Pro

With the absence of a front-screen camera, a flat back without a protruding camera – it looks like the perfect phone for me

Not sure about the 8pro. Might just be that model with issues. Though think the 7pro was way better than the 8pro. The 8s pro seems to have combined the good from the 7 and 8. Wide screen, yet light,..having the ability to ajust the frame rate makes watching movies and shows on the go totally immersive and very sharp, crisp sound and video. Not too keen on the 9 pro though only difference to the 8s pro is simply the gen 3 snapdragon

Is the 8S not virtually the same as the 8 though? Both were SnapDragon Gen2, the S was just a revised version. I had the 8 Pro, and the 8S and 9 seem to have the same form factor so I’m wondering if you’ve made a typo with regards to the model numbers you like and don’t like..?

Just realised this is 9 Pro PLUS, so that might nullify my comment. Apologies. (edited)
