Always compare Booking .com prices with a clean vanilla browser session, as they often have different (higher) prices if you go through an affiliated cashback link.
Also compare prices in the booking .com app or using a mobile web browser app, many hotels offer lower "mobile only prices".
You could save more than £30 on your booking and avoid the stress and delay waiting months for cashback to pay out.

I noticed that booking is one of the most expensive travel sites. Not always but mostly. So compare with others.
Typical example - Tropitel Dahab Oasis
    From booking - £51252069694-34IBX.jpgFrom Tui - £313
    52069694-GKohm.jpg£199.00 difference.

The Metro is owned by DMG Media, the same company that owns the Daily Mail.

Try booking direct - quite often cheaper and you’re not giving your money to booking.con

So fed up with people saying this, I travel a lot and 95% of the time it is cheaper to book on a third party site compared to the booking directly.

Always check the hotel and the dates you want on google maps, it will compare all major booking sites.

I have used Booking com many times and have found it cheaper than other sites and direct but this is largely due to having a genius discount after a number of stays and being selective. Certain properties closer to the date will have some big discounts. (edited)

Yup aiming to get to genius level 3 this year. I know I am probably paying more but the genius discount thing keeps me coming back.

Note that in the terms payment must be in GBP. Booking.com charge you in the local currency of the hotel, so unless you are interested in a staycation this probably won't pay out.

Also, I've tried these Daily Mail gift card promos a few times in the past year and never got it to track or pay out, even when following the T&Cs so have given up trying.

A few of the other voucher sites (cloud/codes etc) have gift card deals too (although not as generous as this) and in my experience they are a bit more reliable paying out than DM.

Good deal if it tracks and you meet the T&Cs though.

Based on the T&Cs, does it mean that I can't choose any 'No prepayment needed – pay at the property' option?
    Searcher2's avatar
What bit of the T&Cs make you think that is excluded?

Probably want more market share and willing to get less or even close money on bookings until they do.

Hmm, doesn't specify that it has to be for hotels so I wonder if I can use it to book car hire

Presumably this would also work when booking flights?

They’ve got a better coupon in the site for purchases over £650 if that’s in your price range.

For people who have had these successfully validated in the past, roughly how long did it take for them to inform you? I know it says you may have to wait up to 120 days but I’m hoping that’s the upper end (to make you forget!) and they actually let you know sooner.

Found an already outrageously cheap hotel at £85 for 3 nights in a premium double. I didn’t need it but I was eying up the 4th night which would’ve made it £106 but then I came across this deal. Luckily their link bumped the total price up to £125 so it just inched me over the £100 ex VAT mark.

If everything went right I will have hopefully made the accomodation cost £95 for 4 nights. On the other hand if it didn’t work then I’ve just paid £19 more than I would’ve.

I like living life on the edge. (edited)
