Gift cards via Currys seem to be cheapest at mo
use code PS15 at checkout to get 15% off all gift cards

£100 GC for £85
£90 GC for £76.50
£84 GC for £71.40
£80 GC for £68
£50 GC for £42.50

If you want PS Extra for £51 (49% off) Instead of this offer for £58.99 (41%off) or PSPremium for £61.90 (48.41% off) Instead of this offer for £80.39 (33%off)
Look below

If you can see the current offers (premium for £80.39 or extra for £58.99) when signed in on your app or console this should work for you, also if you want premium dont buy it straight away...

Buy PS Extra 1st for £51 using currys 15% off giftcard offer
I got £60 gift card (2x £30 cards*) which will make your ps extra 49% off instead of 41%
*if buying more than one card make sure you buy them separately because discount only applies to 1 card and also try topcashback

Once your signed up go back into your app or console and you should now see an option to upgrade to premium for £13.40
Use your £1.01 change from the last gift card and buy another £10 giftcard from currys for £8.50 using 15% off giftcard offer and pay the rest of the balance £2.39 that's due by card

you effectively now get PS Premium for £61.90 (48.41% off instead of 33% )

both almost half price, hope that makes sense

£8 cheaper to buy PS Premium by first buying Extra and then upgrading to Premium manually. Works out £72.39.

I’ve had premium for over a year and the streaming service is a con as the lag makes a lot of games unplayable, even when wired
  2. GAMER13's avatar
If you want premium buy extra for £58.99 then upgrade to premium as only 13.40 which total comes in at £72.39 saves £8 doing it this way

I’m guessing this is only for expired subscriptions?

I have about 50 days left, it's letting me upgrade my essential account with the 33 percent discount but after the 50 days it runs out. Can't see a way to get 12 months at this price.

Still full price for me, probably because it doesn’t expire till June this year (edited)

Same here I'm on extra and I'm only getting a discount on upgrading to premium

Nice, finally one that shows on my account. Best option for buying via game cards?

EDIT - a 40 + 20 from cdkeys seems to save an additional fiver. Or £3 if you ignore the left over PSN credit. (edited)
    GAMER13's avatar
Currys still offering 15% off all gift cards use code PS15 at checkout they are cheaper than cd keys at mo hope that helps
  8. dealcatcher4will's avatar
So how would this work? Should I cancel my current one and buy the extra as it’s only giving me an option to upgrade then says renewal on 19/2/24 at full price
    donny1266's avatar
You cannot cancel as it keeps your old membership live until feb. You can only hope this deal is still on when yours finishes.

Just an ask but i have PS plus basic,,so if i pay my upgrade fee to PS Extra and download some games from catalogue, when it runs out and i down grade to PS plus basic, can i still play the games i download from the catalogue??
    mossmanfly's avatar
No. Games are only available if you subscribe and also if they are on the service. If you don't have a subscription for Extra/Premium or the game leaves the service, the game is unplayable.

Otherwise, people would just subscribe for 1 month and download all the games onto an external drive and play at their leisure. (edited)

Heat added finally a offer showing on my account can see it via app to
Now to get a a gift card to drop it more
  12. mjoyce0901's avatar
I have £70 in my ps wallet (bought by shop to voucher), can anyone explain how I can purchase the ps plus subscription and use the money on the wallet, I only ever see the option for paying with my credit card. (edited)
    Semiskimmed's avatar
It should allow you to select the method you want to pay with, even partial payments are ok to use. Are you using the website, playstation or the app? You could try using an alternative to the platform you're trying to access it through and see if the options change? But it should work fine with the wallet as that is exactly how i purchased it earlier today.

heads up!!! finally one that showing up on my account hopefully yours too , extra works out better than in December almost half price at 49% off using curry 15% off gift cards

Premium is only 33% off but just read someone said if you buy extra 1st then upgrade it works out £8 cheaper than just buying premium so rather being 33% off its now works out 40% off premium so using currys gift cards think it gets to half price 50% off (edited)
    SnoopZ's avatar
I'll check after work, did you see it on Console or App?
  14. Bruno_uk's avatar
If I’m not wrong, last big sale they initially excluded essential for a while, and then included few days later.
  15. Ljsdad's avatar
Can ps plus  be stacked at all ?
    SnoopZ's avatar
You can still stack as long as it's the same tier level.

I used the link below to purchase a gift card at 15% off which brings the premium service down to £69!

I purchased an £80 gift card from Currys today, within minutes of paying the order was cancelled and so called getting a refund…. If you read the post loads of people are having issues! I kinda wish it didn’t muck up in end I purchased from cdkeys for £2 more as couldn’t trust Currys again
  17. greggy83's avatar
Amazing offer. My son really happy using premium service for a half of its price. Thanks for sharing
    SnoopZ's avatar
Make sure you go into settings and click cancel, this cancels auto renewal from when the sub expires.
  18. donthasslethe's avatar
Anyone know what CrunchyRoll shows are included with premium? Looking to watch some anime but all I can find is ‘selected content’ from crunchyroll is included. Any help would be appreciated.
    Kam-s's avatar
You can make a free account and check which shows you are looking for.
  19. rhysie1's avatar
My subscription ran out midway through playing a game on ps+, it actually kicked me out of the game midway through playing.

I went into the store and I could instantly buy a new sub at the discounted price. So this should work for anybody who's subs are about to expire.

Ensure you turn your auto renewal off.
  20. kashnix's avatar
Thanks OP !! It's good I enough patience to hold out for this and it finally came ..... quite a suprise and totally new to this tier system coming back to ps plus after about 5 years away from playstation gaming. Just wish it could be simpler like Xbox gamepass ultimate without all the faffing around but it is what it is.
Any recommendations for games to get started on ?

Btw it maybe cheaper if you can buy instant vouchers for Currys like I did from my workplace scheme at 6.5% off and then used the PS15 CODE from Currys at checkout.
  21. LazyDonkey's avatar
No offers since my sub expired in December, so I used the Currys gift card route and re-subscribed to Premium last weekend. Has anyone cancelled a recent sub, been refunded and then been offered the discounted price?
    BoGoF's avatar
I made a new account last month on playstaion to see if last month's offer would show up which it didn't howverr this deal is showing up on that so I recommend making a new account and verify it and next time there an offer check that account. I doubt if you make a new one today this would show up because i think it needs sometime to be active but try it anyway (edited)
  22. cryptomuzz's avatar
Found a good YouTube video explaining what to do and using cdkeys instead of currys incase they pull the offer! Hopefully this helps someone as it helped me follow the steps to get the deal myself! 👌

Cardyard sells ps vouchers for 17% off all the time btw. There is also cards2cash at 15% and an additionsl 3% off if you set up to pay by bank transfer

Just ordered a PS5 today. Could someone outline the differences? If I wanted to mainly play the exclusive games then Extra is enough right? Premium has the classics and streaming? Is that the main difference between the 2?
    Justttice's avatar
The Extra has enough titles in the Catalogue and you get monthly games too.
I recently got it and downloaded spiderman Miles, Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima etc.
On top of that you can play online if you run out of titles to play
  24. OutSpoken's avatar
Sigh… still no discounts for essential(annoyed) all i really want it for is online play.
    helal94's avatar
Same. Waiting for a deal on the essential so I can stack a few years.
  25. danny.kerr's avatar
I'm guessing for non subs? I'm subscribed till april and nothing on my account
  26. buliztik's avatar
After today's February game offerings announcement, you'd have to really question if PS Plus is worth it
    andypearce543's avatar
Tbf that's the base games. This deal is for extra and the additions to that are normally good.
  27. donny1266's avatar
They’re offering me premium for £80 or extra for £99. The games are mostly trash right… so only really want essential.
    Ukmandude's avatar
Plus the fact they can remove games at any moment. I’m not a hardcore gamer, I can take months to finish a game. Why would I bother starting if you’re gonna prize it from my hands!
  28. sweetflexx's avatar
Thank you kind sir, like many I held off around xmss and thought I'd made a mistake not caving in , but behold the moons aligned today and although late it's a better deal than before Christmas🎄.

    Still too expensive.
    FrankieThePanda's avatar
Going by the methods posted you can get a year of online gaming and a bunch of games for £61, in what insane world is that too much? I was paying around that for a year of Xbox live back in 2009 for a lot less content so given inflation I don't understand your point
  30. Assured_Brother's avatar
Finally showing on my account! Bought currys vouchers at 15% off so about £51 for the year. Not too shabby and my son will be happy!
  31. wazobia's avatar
Finally, the offer is showing up on my app as the one a couple weeks ago was a bust for me. Glad I dug my heels in and waited as I was tempted to just give in and spend the £99 (well, £80 using Currys and work discount)

Actual cost for Extra is about £47. Sweet, heat added
    Eggface5's avatar
Same here. I waited and bought the Currys vouchers. Problem is when it runs out in 12 months, it will be February. Generally after the sale season. Not sure how to get round it next year.

Great deal for those that get the offer.
I don't have the offer so won't be renewing my subscription.

Looks like this is the push I need to go pc only for gaming and change to gamepass with Xbox.

Seems unfathomable to me that Sony don't offer the best deals to people with long running subs to retain them.
  34. Steve-O.2008's avatar
Tempting but renewal price is high and you need to remember, if your getting this mainly for online then you need to wait for this to run out before you can downgrade and take advantage of any essential deals which you would have most likely missed as they are usually BlackFriday and December.

You can't downgrade from Extra or Full only upgrade (until the sub expires)

Still a good deal but don't want to get trapped on a higher tier again

Guessing this is maybe why there is no essential deal, to trap people onto the higher tiers (edited)
    thinwhiteduke's avatar
Very good point. Due to the lack of offers since Black Friday, people are jumping on this without thinking ahead.
  35. silentplayer's avatar
Offer showing on mine. Cracking first deal! Bought £100 PS gift card for £85 from Curry's and will use that to buy a year
    TM1233's avatar
Have you got a live sub?
  36. n64play's avatar
Nothing on my account but I'm subscribed until may, so guessing for non subscribers only?
  37. ruairi's avatar
Heads up, you can get Premium cheaper. If you buy Extra, Premium upgrade is offered at £13.40 for the year, bringing it to £72.39 for a year of Premium! Thanks a million for sharing OP I was waiting months for a better deal. (edited)
    donny1266's avatar
You can also get a year of premium for £71 by purchasing the curry’s gift card if extra isn’t offered to you
  38. TM1233's avatar
So is this for subs that have already expired? Mine expires in 24 days time but its still showing full price
    Peat76's avatar
    Yeah looks like it.
  39. Robert_Boulton's avatar
    Thanks. Waiting for the essential
