The orginal 80's classic, cheapest ever price

Dalton (Patrick Swayze) is a true gentleman with a degree in philosophy from NYU. He also has a flip side - he's the best bar bouncer in the business. When Dalton's brought in to clean up a popular establishment that become particularly rowdy, his calm is put to the test by the town bully, in this throwback to the great westerns of the 40's and 50's.

    Brilliant film, Swayze’s best imho.
For those who haven’t yet watched the remake, honestly don’t bother.

One of my favourites, the remake isn't gripping me.

I thought the remake had some fun bits but this is definitely the best version

    Haven't watched the remake yet
But I can't see how they can do any better than the original
I mean Swayze was excellent and they had the Jeff Healy band as well

This original is the one of my favorites of all time.  Just watched the remake on amazon thought it was really good as well for today's standards . HEAT

Just like the remake of Point Break, I won't be watching the new version of Road House.

If I didn't already have a physical copy of Road House, I'd buy this.

I actually liked the Point Break remake as it wasn't an exact duplicate. Sometimes you have to push yourself to watch something because you might miss something that everyone else says is trash.

The remake was absolutely awful. I wasn't entertained in the slightest. The characters were just meh. This would have bombed at the box office. I think I just zoned out after an hour or so. Jake gyllenhaal is a great character actor but this was garbage. He plays a man so caring, he beats 4 men to a pulp and then takes them to hospital and apologises but later punches a man in the throat and leaves him to drown in a pool.

I agree the original is much better. My husband used to be just like Dalton when he and his brother ran a nightclub .

Heat from me for an awesome movie. The new one was a bit of a let down imo.

Roadhouse is right up there with Showgirls for some of the campest scenes. The fights are more like interpretive improv dance, rather than anything resembling anything realistic combat. The film has a great heart though. (edited)

Check out the ‘The Rewatchables’ po@cast they have a great episode breaking down this swayze classic (edited)

Just watched this tonight. It was alright but prefer the new one.

I think whether you prefer the old or new version is very much dependent on your age. The new one is definitely tailored more towards the tiktok generation with it's style of filming.
