Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this over the Apple Watch Ultra? Pro’s/cons etc. thanks
    sinxa's avatar
After using it for six months, I returned to the Apple Watch Ultra. I missed having Apple Music on the watch while leaving my phone at home, using Apple Pay, answering calls on the watch during runs without my phone, and many other features. I must admit, the metrics on the Garmin were impressive, but I downloaded an app called WorkOutDoors, which adds a bunch of additional insights to the Apple Watch Ultra.

Got this last week. Best watch I’ve had yet. Used garmins for year then switched to apple. The Apple Watch was good but so glad I’ve switched back to Garmin for the running metrics. Really excellent watch, can’t fault it.

Yes I use mine for golf great watch even works with the CT 10 sensors . I had tbe fenix 7 before and swapped to this for better screen

    Is this truly black
    or dark grey?

Had a look at one in the H. Samuel shop last week but it was grey rather than black and it put me off.
    Can anyone confirm? Cheers

I have it, it's dark grey

Just to add this to the mix, I’ve been a Garmin fan for years but always thought they were well overpriced.
I’ve gone through the Fenix 5/6/7 and epix 2, which all did a good job overall, but last year was involved in a serious accident meaning my exercise regime came to a virtual standstill, at this time I also needed to monitor my heart rate and get ecg readings, as my epix 2 didn’t do this i decided to buy a Fitbit sense 2 (yes I know…..) which I bought new on eBay for £70.
Now I’d be the first to say Fitbit are not in the same league as Garmin, but for £70 I’ve found it amazingly good value, the software is a bit clunky but ok, the nearest comparison I’d make is with the Garmin venu 2 plus but is the Garmin really worth 4 to 5 times the price I don’t think so, especially with a non working ecg app (can be worked around).
Just my thoughts if it helps anyone.52467522-T8Cyc.jpg

Cheers op, I grabbed one, for anyone interested get the 10% off code by signing up for a newsletter and go into to the store, they will give the discount. Great watch.
    michty_me's avatar
Didn't even think about using my 10% code in store. Ah well.

Great price, I’ve had mine now for 2wks and it’s a quality watch.
I had the Fenix 6S pro before and was worried about the size difference (42 to 47) of this watch on my wrist, and at first it felt massive but now i don’t really notice it.
Amoled screen is such an improvement from my Fenix.
I can still download my music what is great and the 16gb is plenty too be honest,32gb on the pro version. If you want maps you can still get them but you have to download them for free as far as I’m aware.
    OhTheMajesty's avatar
Using maps on this is a vastly superior experience to the Fenix 6 line because of the AMOLED screen and touchscreen.

52467330_1.jpgRunning mine with Redlight Shift which I think is pretty neat (edited)
    andrewgiz's avatar
Is It the one with a diameter of 47mm?
  8. Spike_202's avatar
I'm torn as I want the pro or the Fenix pro but this price is 1/2 the price (edited)
    cycleman's avatar
The pro is better having more advanced heart rate sensors and ECG app (needs UK workaround) but is it worth the price? In my opinion no, the venu 3 has pretty much the same capability but still too pricey, I'd bite for £250 on the venu.
  9. michty_me's avatar
I've just ordered one. Originally it was out of my price range however may be worth a punt now. Also have a Venu 3 on order. Not sure if this will go well on my skinny wrists mind you.

Excellent price for an excellent watch, just like it was on the previous 46 times that this deal was posted (A number people, including myself, got it for £337.50 using a 10% code)
    Jay1001's avatar
Please explain how the 10% off code works? I can't add it to the order?
  11. Maverick200's avatar
I was tempted by this when you had to use a code to get it for half price. But I found an Epix Gen 2 Sapphire at John Lewis for £529. They also gave me a 5% voucher code and I could pay with Perkbox for a further discount. But £375 for this is still a better deal. I just preferred the black case of the Sapphire model.
    Spike_202's avatar
My thoughts but what is the scratch proofing like? I'd imagine if you scuffed the black bezels it would be alot more noticeable?

Got this last week for this price. Really impressed, massive step up from my FR 245 Music. Bought a couple of screen protectors for £3.70ish off eBay (never has any issues with my previous Garmin, but this is a chunky watch so more prone to being bashed against things).
    TCB seems to have tracked.
Can't fault Garmin Customer Service either. My Forerunner developed a line of dead pixels (after 2.5 years of constant use). I sent it back (free postage) and have just received a certified refurbished one back in the post (which will now be getting sold).
  13. muoi's avatar
Got this one in one of the previous posts. The only issue I've found is due to it's weight, you will need to really tighten it on your wrist to get a good HR reading otherwise it will be just way off. Or get a HR strap. Overrall a very nice watch for the price and lots of useful stats! (edited)
    OhTheMajesty's avatar
Yep, I've extensively used the Garmin HR strap and the disparity in HR readings between the strap reading and the watch reading is alarming. That is to say that the watch HR reading is likely to be quite inaccurate

I have a Huawei gt2 pro that seems to have very similar features even though it's a bit old now but can't find a reason to upgrade.
    sashforth's avatar
I also have a Huawei gt2 pro and, trust me, this watch is light years ahead in so many areas e.g. map based navigation. The key is whether you will use the additional features.
  15. jai247's avatar
    Great price
  16. tubster76's avatar
I am pleased with mine. You can use perks at work to get e-code voucher for an additional discount. I got a brown leather strap which is more comfy and swap to the black one for swimming.
    Spike_202's avatar
I can't see any discounts for thus retailer on Perks at work? Just extra wow points ?
  17. sami92's avatar
Is it worth extra money for pro version? (edited)
    Billy_Ray_bob's avatar
At this price I am not sure. I paid around 600 for this version and wished I paid more for the higher model. However that said, everything I need this watch to do, it does
  18. BiggusDickus's avatar
Scratch that. Thought I couldn't add to cart. uBlock origin was breaking the site for me. (edited)
  19. gregg5886's avatar
Definitely worth getting. A great watch at an amazing price!
  20. Craig_Stephen's avatar
What do people think about the vivoactive 5? Whenever I look nobody is talking about it
  21. th3m4n's avatar
For the people who already have one, what are these like at night? Are they super brigh? I've read they have a sleep mode but doesn't that still emit alot of light at night? It's the only thing I'm not too sure about as everything else seems spot on for price. (edited)
    Maverick200's avatar
You just let the screen turn off. Mine is off unless I touch it, press a button or raise it to look at it.
  22. Prawnexpert's avatar
I’ve had one for around 9 months. Good bit of kit. Pros- battery life around a week and garmin connect software is really good. It’s round, only kids wear square watches.. Cons. Very deep, it sticks out and can bash on things or get caught when putting coat on ect.
    plexae's avatar
Using it for 6 months now and, I guess, depending on your wrist and arm size, it won't be a problem. I am a big guy and always wear wide clothes and it never caught anything. (edited)
  23. _txrxn's avatar
Can anyone update on how to get the extra discount on this oneeee
    michty_me's avatar
I don't think any other discounts work on this one currently.
  24. lfcfooty71's avatar
is this better than a garmin fenix 6 saphire guys ?
    Msx98's avatar
Very much so. Brand new hardware and will get much more software support than the 6.

I have had this watch for 4 months, coming from a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (fed up with the rubbish HR). It's an excellent watch. Metrics are accurate and detailed and battery life is insane (11+ days). Its not as intuitive as the Samsung, menus are a little complicated and it doesn't have health metrics such as ECG, body composition, blood pressure monitoring etc. but it's a quality piece of kit (build quality is first class).

Bought as an upgrade for my forerunner 235, not sure what to expect but seemed a good deal
    sashforth's avatar
Trust me, as someone who had a Forerunner 235 many years ago, I can tell you that you won't be disappointed.

This is light years ahead in so many ways. The display will knock your socks off and that is before you get into the huge increase in functionality.

My Epix was meant to be delivered by today but tracking it, It appears it is somewhere in Wales. I'm in Aberdeen...Guess I won't be seeing that until mid next week now due to the holidays.

Great deal as long as H Samuel don't deliver an empty box like I got on Saturday.
