    Are these unlocked phones?
    JDPower's avatar
As Kevin didn't bother answering - yes. All UK phones are unlocked by law now.

is this a credit check job?
    EndemicAlarm's avatar
Yes, and O2 do not go easy on you. Only phone company that's ever turned me down. Wouldn't explain, wouldn't change their mind, wouldn't let me pay the whole lot in cash up front.

And there's plenty who had the same experience.

O2 are kind of an awful company to deal with and if their Like New condition allows for multiple deep scratches... think hard before taking them on. (edited)

Like New devices aren’t brand new, but they're not far off. The only difference is that they may have some wear and tear and superficial scratches, but there’ll be no more than five deep scratches or chips up to 2mm in length.

The like new description is a total scam if iit allows 5 deep 2mm scratches.

    oh, that is great.

    Fixed in software updates.

How do you check the number of charge cycles? Is it in the settings?
    DopeyDunker's avatar
It was under Settings > About Phone > Battery Information but it seems to have gone in the latest updates to Android 14 on most (if not all?) models. If you want to buy one and check I would look for it in the settings before completing each update to the phone and see if it's there as once you're on the latest updates I'm pretty certain it will be gone again.

Edit: more info here on the disappearing 'battery information':

Avoid O2 like the plague, non-existent customer service, terrible reception in the North West
    manowarbruno's avatar
I don't normally care much about customer service, but o2 is terrible at a whole new level...I once ordered an iPhone for c&c in store that got lost within their system. Even their tracking showed that it was stuck somewhere and yet they kept refusing to refund or send me another. I spent 100s of hours on the phone trying to milk some basic common sense or to even care out of someone with no luck. Still for charged for 6 months of contract until I had to go through Ofcom where they finally were forced to cancel and refund.

Mine is absolutely trashed, microscratches everywhere, loads of deep scratches. Stuff coming out of the screen. It's definitely been used for a long time before it was returned.

How do I go about returning this or getting a replacement?

Really good but wound better off getting a C grade one from CEX as that comes with 2 year warranty
    Calum_Grant's avatar
You'd be better getting grade C - a phone that's noticeably damaged with deep obvious marks on the screen, Vs basically unused? I don't understand that logic.
  21. Red-VIII's avatar
Really tempted by this, but there like new description is putting me off
  22. seanyuen's avatar
Whatever you do, do not stay with O2. I currently use this phone with O2 network and the reception for me has been absolutely shocking, and this is for many regions within UK.
    mrspydey's avatar
So i was with 3 for years. The network for last 2 years has been poor at my new place. I switched to 02 and now I get 4 bars before I got 0/1 from 3. (edited)
  23. hypermind's avatar
I simply can't decide if this is a good deal. Price wise says yes but given the feedback on 02, the condition etc it makes it less exciting.
    kawsar17's avatar
I'm holding off, I reckon we'll see this price again soon from a better retailer(and with less faff)
  24. K1664's avatar
Tempted but can't be bothered with all the hassle cancelling the SIM etc when it looks like their customer service is crap
    Add_to_Basket's avatar
No need to get involved with customer services. Just text PAC to 65075 then port your number out to another sim. Job done.

Anyone else gets to choose a 'minimun' of 3 months ? Is it still ok to cancel within 14 days ?

Yeah. saw after looking at the terms and conditions you can. Actually went down to £260 for me (edited)
    alithomas's avatar
Surely you'll still have a 3 month device plan contract paying £13 a month? Will you not just be cancelling the airtime contract?
  29. yodijov955's avatar
Crazy deal. I am selling mine new for £400.

Can't buy another Pixel phone after finding out about the 5G problem when roaming in most countries.
    EndemicAlarm's avatar
It has 5G problems in this country, reception and battery life suck.

However I don't think they've fixed that on *any* Pixel yet as it's down to the hardware, nor is it expected to be fixed in the Pixel 9s either probably. So you just have to factor that into whether it affects you wanting a Pixel generally or not.

I had this the pro 7 from launch, and it was fine until about 6 months in, then i had constant hardware issues, or maybe it was software I am not too sure? My screen would start to act very weird, like something out of the matrix, when there was a glitch, strange multicolours, it would then freeze, and was completely unresponsive, then just turn off!
I would have to wait about a minute or so before turning it back on again, it was real hot after this had happened too!
After lengthy discussions with Google about getting a new replacement sent out due to the time I had it for, they refused to send me a new one, and only wanted to send me a refurbished device, stating that they had no new stock availability!! Which I found incredibly hard to fathom, as they had plenty available in their Google store all the time!🤷‍♂️

Anyway, after more lengthy discussions with Google, and them finally giving in to my demands of a Brand New replacement which I thought I deserved (especially after only 6 months of usage from New)! I still have the new Pro 7 in its box, and after going back to my Oppo Find X 5 Pro, and having Zero problems with it still now, I just can't see myself going back to Pixel 7 Pro again, just in case there's the same issue all over again!

Having said that, the 6 months running up to before the fault I experienced, i had no issues at all really, (other than the battery of course) and the device ran pretty solid.

This was obviously my experience, and will not necessarily be the same for everyone. I just wanted to share.

Good deal but problem with phones, I just returned one as phone was locked with American Varijon network. Painful experience with O2 customer service.
  37. BenSewell's avatar
Think they've knocked it down to £100 off now
    SavageGizmo's avatar
I'm not sure if it's an error, but use the code the OP has provided and it will knock off £200 rather than £100.
  38. derf123's avatar
    Oos?
    SavageGizmo's avatar
You need to select the 128GB option.
  39. wispy's avatar
    Mines still down to £399
Edit: Working! used the £100 not £200 code..... (edited)

How is it such a good deal? £320 plus credit check and lost time when dealing with O2. Like new but with up to 5 deep scratches?
Pleanty of refurbished ones like this on ebay
    alithomas's avatar
They are normally open box only. I'm on my third, shared amongst family. Cancel within 14 days and this is £299 and likely scratch free.
