sorted byI had an account already but hadnt used the trial - I've found it a really helpful app.
I used TunnelBear (free) on my phone to connect to an Indonesian VPN and then clicked through the website (trying to use the app didnt seem to change the price from UK to Indonesian).
I then signed up for the plus membership which was a 7 day trial followed by a $10 a year subscription. The code SPRING24 then knocked it down to $5. Worked out at £4.03 using a Revolut card.
I had to log out of the app and log back in for the upgrade to show.
I've set a reminder on my phone for a year's time to review the subscription .

I'm going to a national park in Portugal soon, can anyone confirm Portuguese national parks are included or anyway for me to find out ?
Off the top of my head I'm sure Portugal is.
I would stick with Ordnance Survey maps as you can’t beat them. I personally think this app is aimed at people who can’t read maps or at least details on them like contour lines.
If you did this VPN trick I guess at only £4 you could see if you find new trails and walks. As this app in the past did have a good network of people adding new routes to explore. Then when you do I would still choose OS maps over this. (edited)
