30 quid cheaper? Is this a joke ? You're gonna hold off for the sake of 30? Don't even bother buying it at all

Yeah I can only get away with a 2 fan card (300mm-ish) in my current case, so I'm kinda glad this one is too big otherwise I would've bitten.

If you want NVENC encoders, the 4070 Ti (and Ti Super) have dual encoders. The 4070 and 4070 Super only have one. They're 8th gen and support AV1.

Is there much difference between having one and two? I am asking as I am using RTX for PCVR with quest 3.

This thingy is 20-25% faster than my 3080 10GB was when I got it in Oct 2020. For the same money. 6GB more RAM, frame gen, better RT. But still, seems a little spendy for 20-25% more beef, given 3.5 years have passed.

Where's my 100% gains? Not even the 4090 does it without frame gen propping it up, and THAT thing costs the earth.

I have the Palit 4080 (only bought it last year as i got it dirt cheap that warranted buying a inferior brand with potential issues), and well, there is a lot of bearing noise from the fans as the spool up, almost as if an object is catching onto it. It isnt bad during gaming, and not really noticeable then. It's quiet, just the poor quality fans let it down.

I do not like the fact that you have to go to your retailer to claim warranty rather than directly with the manufacturer. So keep all of this in mind when dealing with PALIT.

Oh wow this sounds almost exactly like the case I cited above with a work pal of mine.

Shocking to find another report of this horrendous noise fault so quickly. Can't you return yours?

Good price. Novatech after sales support is quite poor tbh.

I paid 799.99 for an Asus one so this is a pretty darn good price if you can get a good one from this manufacturer; a colleague of mine just recently received a 4080 Super Palit and it made the most horrendous noise due to the brace that was rattling on the heatsink, he had to return it. It put me off ever chancing one from these guys tbh.

Creacking deal. I bought the Gainward card at MSRP last month and it is an absolute beast.

Blows the Nvidia away in raster but is also more expensive and not as good in terms of the powerful Nvidia fidelity perks.

Lol I've literally done it myself. I think JayzTwoCents in the video gets it to within 6%. Watch it, it's very in-depth. I got mine to within 5% though, which is a pointless difference but still. Don't always believe what you make up in your head.

Edit: the person I replied to deleted their comment. (edited)

Will this run as a direct replacement for the Nvidia 1080?
    Weehamish's avatar
What does that even mean? If you have a 1080 you'll most likely have an ancient cpu too... so no you need upgrade your full PC basically.
  12. electriclinux's avatar
When do I replace my R9 280x......basically have to replace my entire pc.
    Nexy's avatar
You probably don't. It's fine to have your CPU rather than your GPU as your limiting factor. Many people upgrade CPU+motherboard (+RAM depending), PSU, and GPU in different cycles. Just look at what provides the best value for your usage immediatelt, and what will do so over time, and what your budget is.

What is the metric you're unhappy with at the moment, and what other components do you have?
