The good thing about these is they cannot be overclocked, so used CPUs haven't been abused.

Doesn't stop previous owners from using dog awful cooling though. (edited)

It will be compatible but by the sounds of it you'll need to update your bios using your current CPU first

Agreed, for the 13% saving I'd rather have Brand New thx

Unless the CPU was DAMAGED (which really means bent pins), to an end user used is really the same as new. However, on principle, a second-hand anything should have a BIG discount unless one of those "open-box never used" dealios.

BUT with an item in great demand, the seller can afford to be very mean with the discount, raising the issue of risk vs reward even when the likelihood of an issue is really low. This is 30 quid down- not a good saving. 205 would have been much better.

I bought a bent pin 5800X3D for £180, usually a damaged CPU sells for about 40-60% the used value but considering they're consistently selling for £220-250 on eBay auctions used it's a good enough deal for me

    Cold, seriously?

I dont understand what y'all think is so bad about a one year old used CPU? :/ (edited)

It would be a great price if new, I'd personally just pay the extra and buy this new.

Not sure it's worth going to a used one when we've seen this hit the £250 mark brand new. In a few weeks, I would bet we see this go down to the £250 mark as a regular price
