Where are people getting 4k from? last I checked full hd meant 1080p
    KodaBear's avatar
43” one is UHD. 40” one is HD.

For added amusement - we all know it's basically the same company making these tvs, but going through the Android TV setup it's telling me it's an AQUOS-TVE21A2

Whoops, looks like you forgot to rebrand it from Sharp there folks...
    Bangles's avatar
In that case, I bought a Sharp 49" TV for £199 from Tesco 6 years ago. Still working fine.

Struggling to find any info on it. Need a TV for bedroom but has to be vesa mountable (100x100 minimum) can anyone confirm?

Can't drive so don't want to make a long trip for no reason. (edited)

If you connect bluetooth speakers to this, is there a menu option to fix lip sync issues?
    chancooluk's avatar
From the manual listed above, it looks like Bluetooth speakers are supported, but there doesn't appear to be any audio sync options for it.

cheap tv cheap price will last a year if that. Used to work at Currys so know for a fact these sort of cheap tvs don't last and Tesco won't replace them

cheap tv with cheap price. Don't expect it to last long at all. Used to work for Currys so know these sorts of tvs don't last long and Tesco won't replace them either. (edited)

Working at Currys doesn't make you know anything 'for a fact'. I'm sure many have bought cheap TVs which have lasted way longer than your 'factual year'

Bought one of these a while ago. Picture is ok. Wifi has to be setup each time you switch on after a few months which is annoying. Get what you pay for.

With these tvs it's always best to get a Roku or Firestick and not rely on the TVs smart features.

The 43" Is a great price for a 4K Smart TV.

Just don't expect to be blown away by the quality. It's a cheap TV made by UMC so picture quality won't be crazy sharp and the smart TV apps will feel fairly slow.

But it will do the job if you just need a cheap secondary TV for casual viewing or light gaming with a console etc.

    Not 4k

I do like my oled tvs but I have to admit I had a technika for years and did it’s job perfectly well until I upgraded and picture was great too.

FYI just bought the 43 at this price at Stafford, so likely nationwide. They 1x 43 remaining and at least 4 of the 40s (which i also confirmed was the price here)

    Heat

My Blaupunkt 40 incher is seven years old and still brilliant picture, £160 back then so the 43 incher is zero inflation. UMG do Blaupunkt and Technika, basically the same thing and the remotes work on either. It's a couple of generations behind the expensive stuff but fine at this kind of size on picture quality. Also have eco mode so you can save money on the electric (and still get a bright pic). The remotes won't last much more than a year, though, so copy to a learning remote whilst still working. Any reason why the UHD (4k?) 43" is cheaper than the full HD 40" smaller screen?
  15. adampike's avatar
They had the 40" one in Tesco orbital Swindon this morning. That's the boys Xmas sorted 😁
  16. jd84's avatar
It's mad that the 43 is less than the 40 for a higher spec
  17. luvsadeal's avatar
    Seems like a good price

Can anyone confirm if national (or atleast multi store)? Thanks
  21. James_Harking's avatar
It's a good price but will be very limited, the Tesco close to me haven't had TVs in months.
    KodaBear's avatar
All Tesco's that have the floor space tend to drop a pallet or two of these for both Black Friday and Boxing Day.

Even some of the larger Tesco Express/Metro stores get these in for these two sales.

I bought a Technika tv as an emergence tv about 10 years ago. I still have it in the spare room. It still works and the picture is pretty good. I would get this!

I've got a 1080p technika TV and it's decent. Very underrated brand.
  24. John59's avatar
For anyone interested, there are none available in Birmingham Yardley. The only TV was a 55 inch Toshiba for £279. The colleagues mentioned that black Friday deals will be starting from next Tuesday and will run until Saturday with some different deals likely for "cyber monday."

I have the Fire TV version of this, besides a few lags now and then been doing good for me. Thinking of getting a Smart dongle to use with it, waiting on next Google dongle deal.

I have seen the same TVs at another large store in the area, so I think it’s likely to be nationwide if you go to a larger store
