About this deal

40% off of plugs and single thermostats, might help someone if they've already got this system and need to add to it.

Cheapest I've seen the plug and found it useful, not only does it extend the WiFi signal off the wiser system but it's always responsive when I've used it. Got a heated blanket attached to it so can ask Google to turn it on so it's warm when I get into bed.

Why is it so expensive? It's a smart plug, right?

It's a smart plug and also an zigbee (not wifi) extender for their smart heating system (wiser). Drayton use zigbee but it's hidden from the end user. If you have their radiator thermostats they form a network via zigbee to their heating hub which controls your boiler. You would buy this plug as either a smart plug on it's own OR a combined smart plug/extender to make sure the signals on your network got to the farthest points. Zigbee devices which are mains powered can act as a relay whereas battery powered ones don't (like their radiator thermostats) simply to preserve power. I have two of these in our house to ensure our network works correctly for our heating.

If you're after a smart plug alone and don't have a wiser heating system then perhaps look elsewhere. Good price. Heat.

it's not a WiFi extender so can be misleading. Good deal.

    Reluctantly purchased.

IMO, given the cost, it’s a bit of a piss take the thermostat can’t be wired and act as a repeater.
