How did you bag that? impressive stuff

Anyone know when the annual price increase applies or has it already passed? Very good value if it stays at £8 for the full year.
    sheffield788's avatar
I've already received the price increase on my existing contract, so I'm assuming this is a new contract at this price, no increase until 2024.
  3. loftie's avatar
Can you do this if you're in contract or do you have to wait for it to end?
    Venner's avatar
you can do it mid contract with o2 to start a new one
  4. jpoolfitz's avatar
How do you upgrade to this deal? Speak to them on livechat?
    keefly's avatar
Click on the offer, log in during the ordering process & choose to upgrade your current number.
  5. jordan_smithy's avatar
How can I upgrade from EE, can anyone help
    KashifHUKD's avatar
    Don't, you'll regret.

Called o2 as a current customer out of contract. They wouldn’t match the deal. Said I’d need to order the sim with that deal.

They offered 25GB for £10. Asked politely and got 25GB for £8 with a choice of perk, Disney, Prime or Audible for 3 months.

No price jump till April 2024.
    reebuk's avatar
Why did you call? Just go through the link, login and it'll give you the option to upgrade your existing tariff

I got the 15GB + 15GB extra 12M bolt on deal last June for £8/m. Any idea if I ‘upgrade’ to this now if l I’ll keep the remaining months of the bolt on?

Trying to avoid the price rise and will benefit from more free Disney+

To be honest I never even use 15GB of data a month…
    duke's avatar
    Yes you will.
I've upgraded twice since that deal and the extra 15gb gets added.
  8. nolli's avatar
Similar to a couple of others I'm also having issues with the link. For me, it only shows 30 day Virgin deals and nothing for O2. I've tried different browsers, including Tor, and switching from my Virgin WiFi to O2 cellular data but no joy. Be great if anyone has had similar issues and able to get the O2 tariff to appear.
    Zikohh's avatar
This is due to adblockers or content blockers make sure they're disabled.

Managed to upgrade my old O2 contract to this, but my volt benefit has disappeared. Do I have to wait for it apply or call them?
    Massive.Spaniard's avatar
You will lose VOLT when you upgrade to a new contract and have to reapply for it in the MY O2 app once your new contract is up and running.

It took mine about 5 days for Volt to reactivate once i had requested it in the MY O2 app... A messge came up saying i had been approved instantly after applying, it just took its time to give the double data benefit. (you actually receive an email when Volt is up and running)

I think they said in the help chat that it may take up to 2 weeks for Volt to be applied, if it doesnt then just get in touch.

    I hope that helps (edited)

Voted hot. My wife was paying £12 for 5GB. She could not be bothered to sign for a new contract since years ago. Managed to convince her to sign and she's did yesterday, but £8 for 15gb on O2 website. That's enough for her.
I pay £8 for 15gb, but this month, the price went up to nearly £10. So I will be signing for this.
And I will get 20% off, as wife has O2. Text LOYALTY to 21500 and follow the
    instructions to register. (edited)
    keefly's avatar
Why don't you just click 'Get deal*' then select "O2 12 Month Deal Plus 3 Months Disney+ 20GB £8 12 month"?

As you proceed through the O2 website you can log in & choose to change your existing contract to keep your number.
  11. Paul1802's avatar
Excellent deal with volt. Pity none of the big networks don't offer 30 day contracts on deals like this. Chances are you'd stick anyway.
    jhussain's avatar
Try voxi they do decent 30 day rolling contracts if that’s what your after. Voxi is a subsidiary of vodafone
  12. Rossmor40's avatar
I don’t know if this happened to anyone else but when I “upgraded” to the £8pm deal they cancelled my double data volt benefits saying I cancelled the sim.

Apparently according to O2 CS you can lose your volt benefits for up to 14 days as they take them off and reapply them when you upgrade or change your contract. (edited)
    Ree_25's avatar
Ah no way. I've just 'upgraded' mine too as due to the price increase it went up to £9.28 but luckily the 12month period had just come to an end. Will my volt benefits such as the double data and increased broadband speed be affected? Was a nightmare the last time trying to get Virgin and o2 to even apply the Volt benefits in the first place!
  13. Megamart's avatar
Anyone got a trick to get past the "Sorry, there’s been a problem - please try again. If this continues, give us a call and we’ll help you get your order placed." failure message if you're an existing customer?

Renewed the contract in the past without a problem but now it fails.
    Megamart's avatar
Ended up clearing all cookies for O2, created a new user account, got my PAC on the existing O2 number and put that in for the new contract.

Order has gone through and new SIM on the way, but guessing it might be rejected when they try to port the number from O2 to O2.

Tried chatting to O2 but they denied this deal was available wouldn't offer it even when I pointed them at the website. Utterly useless and offered insultingly inferior deals.
  14. Scott_TurnerR6v's avatar
Add this deal to basket then go to TCB and hopefully get the £20 cashback on top. Mine has tracked
    Jay_Ma's avatar
O2 via TopCashback? Or virgin mobile? Thanks!
  15. xenept's avatar
Great timing. When can we initiate the LOYALTY text. Remember there was some weirdness about having to be with them for at least 28 days?
    KingOfSpades's avatar
As soon your sim is up and running.. it takes 2-3 days to apply the discount
  16. shab786's avatar
Is there a way to get a 2nd sim for the wife discounted on this? I spoke with O2 this morning who offered £7.99 pm for 15gb volt etc with the second sim receiving 20% discount as part of the deal
    gadgetcake's avatar
Just order via the link, then from the new SIM text LOYALTY to 21500 and follow the prompts
  17. kingLAWZA's avatar
Is there a company that provides U.S. roaming?
    sbfc's avatar
You can pay EE £12.50 and get U.S roaming for 1 month.
  18. Chocopop's avatar
I have an 02 sim tied into my virgin package. The bills are paid separately to each company. I had to take the sim contract for the virgin package. If I changed the sim package I’ve got to this will it end the price discount I get with virgin?
    thank you
    gadgetcake's avatar
    No
  19. Jackfrostsfinger's avatar
Rang them as couldn’t get deal to work and they gave me 25gb instead of 20 also volt worked too (50gb appeared straight away on app). Disney too. Might be worth trying also?
    thanks OP (edited)
  20. Oscarisnotgonnapicknotgon's avatar
Existing O2 customer. Couldn't do it on the website but they gave me the same deal as an upgrade when I rang (actually 25gb)
  21. LoveABargain20's avatar
Currently out of contract with virgin and would like to sign up to the o2 sim and keep my number. Anyone know if you request PAC and then take your number onto o2 or how it works as they joined their companies together so would I have to port out first and then back into o2?
    gadgetcake's avatar
Currently Virgin to O2 port works fine
  22. kingLAWZA's avatar
Does this update on MyO2 from midnight?

Checking as multiple emails saying confirmed but nothings changed
    Rossmor40's avatar
I upgraded mine last night and it was changed on My O2 when I looked at it at 9am this morning.
  23. swafe's avatar
Can anyone help? I'm on O2, how do I upgrade to this? The website is virgin not o2 so a bit confused on the prices, thanks
    DavidAames's avatar
Click on the link, find the deal and click on it, will open O2 website, follow checkout process and after questions about spend cap etc you’ll be asked if you are existing O2 customer, select yes and then rest is straight forward. (edited)
  24. FI_retire_early's avatar
Anyone know how to add volt. I have o2 and just signed up to virgin. Going round in circles !
    Rossmor40's avatar
There’s post on page 1 of this deal which even is complete with pictures that shows you how to request volt.
  25. usman_91's avatar
I am an existing virgin media customer and have a family member in the same house with an o2 sim. What is the discount for a new sim?
  26. dazzy999's avatar
Got rejected !!!!!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous. Ive got an excellent credit rating, how is it possible to get rejected for a paltry £8 contract.
    Little_Casper's avatar
Same, I have an excellent credit rating too; maybe it's for the best O2 is the worst network arguably and when I was with Virgin I noticed a massive difference when they moved from EE.

Also maybe they're just doing this to get peoples attention, IMO though it'll just make people avoid them in the future. (edited)
  27. boomish's avatar
Just left O2 as the worst mobile provider I’ve ever had! Terrible speed even when I could get a signal (in west London & east coast ) plus the worst customer service , only switched to them because of Virgins Volt deal, so happy to have got out with the recent price rises.
  28. KingCampo's avatar
I find that O2's mobile data signal is often very slow in my area, despite what their website says about their signal.
    Indigorush's avatar
Yeah, it’s crap. Still, I wanted some more free Disney plus so have paid for this haha
  29. patrykzacharczuk's avatar
Not worth any money, network is very bad, 3mbps broadband waste of space
    gmblr's avatar
Which network do you recommend then? I was in 3 and while it's great in cities, I had big problems with coverage outside of them. o2 works a lot better for me but if there's something better I'd be happy to move (edited)
  30. smit1606's avatar
O2 signal not great , did this . You would expect them to have one of the best
  31. Billy_Boy's avatar
I already have Virgin Media and just got this sim deal. How do I activate Volt benefits to double the data to 40gb and boost my M250 broadband to M350?

I've been trying to get through to o2 at various point throughout the day but just get a message saying they are too busy and can't connect me to an agent. Not the best start
    dealer175's avatar
49934306-DamT7.jpgYou can register for Volt through the app, (o2 extras)
  32. Sannan.babar's avatar
I am an existing customer but it doesn’t allow me to get this package. Do I need to call them?
    sputnikstokie's avatar
    Yes I did
  33. sham63's avatar
Thanks, upgraded existing account with no problems.
    jpoolfitz's avatar
    How?
  34. Wiseguyme's avatar
Thanks for sharing. Price of the contract increased recently to £17.5, managed to get this deal with more data for only £8.
  35. Mark_Simmo's avatar
Good shout on Top cashback. Mine has tracked at £20 (we will see). Great deal this thanks to LD1984
  36. jamgin's avatar
    Great first post op.

Just taken advantage and managed to get my monthly cost back to pre RPI price of £8 and with more data

Also spoke to Shell Broadband yesterday and with a bit of haggling got a 12 month contract for £21.49/mth for 76mb. So most of RPI (Ripoff Price Increase) has now been negated.
  37. sheffield788's avatar
Now it 'works' via O2, but when I sign into my account to keep my number, what I had in the basket vanished and it gives me more expensive options. (edited)
    jordan_smithy's avatar
  38. Skinflint_Steve's avatar
Perfect timing for me. 24 month Sky mobile contract ended just last week, would've been paying £7 pm with only 2gb of data.

I'm with Virgin Media and my home fibre gets boosted to 256mb with Volt too. Win win!

Cheers OP, congrats on the heat! (edited)
  39. Spider91's avatar
I have package from virgin and was given a sim only with 02 as a package and was due to go up from £25 to £29+ just phoned and they matched it for £12 with 50GB and as i still have virgin doubled to 100GB. Thanks
  40. YD123's avatar
Anyone manage to get passed the 'sorry there's been a problem' message without calling them?
It appears that everyone who has called them has had a good deal for 12 months but its then a case of finding a new deal on the 12th month which I don't fancy doing. I don't want a discount added to my account, I want the price to be fixed at £8.
Currently on £9.38 after the recent increase so it makes sense to just upgrade and get it back down to £8.

I changed plan today at 8.00am no problem.
